Silicon Valley

It's a TV show depicting the insane lifestyle and the haze surrounding the companies in the Silicon Valley. It's well known that startups nowadays are overestimated and trustfully but blindly funded, leading to the so scale "Startup Bubble", especially in the valley. Well, this TV show exhibits how crazy it is in the valley, how hard and how easy it is to build a startup, how fierce are the vulptures in that world looking for the right time to buy cheap your hardworks.

Episode 1:
Episode one:
Richards Hendricks along with his roomates "Big head", Gilfoyle, Dinesh and Bachman were invited to a party held in the house just bought by the founder of a startup acquired by Google for 200 hundred million$. The group stated that there is rain of dollars on Silicon Valley but none hit them.
The four guys live in Bachman's house which is an incubator (Bachman sold his previous company "Aviato" to buy the property). Bachman took Richard aside to share his concerns about Richard's project "Pied Piper": a platform in which we can find instantaneously any music anywhere in the world. Richards colleagues in Hooli ("a very innovative iTech company with all the clich├ęs about any IT company) mock him about his project until they check it out themselves and noticed the power of the platform. The CEO of Hooli, Galvin Belson is informed about it by Jared and asked to meet Richard in order to buy his platform. Prior to that, Richard met Peter Gregory, a billionaire investor to ask for funds. P. Gregory was not interested but his assistant asked Richard to send her the project via github. So during the meeting with Belson, who came up with a 600k proposal, Gregory phoned Richard to propose 400k with 10% of the company. While Galvin end up with an immediat 4 million offer, Richard choose the 200k and 5% of the company offer from Gregory.

Episode 2:
Jared Dunn asked to join the team because of his faith in the project and because he was impressed that Richard refused 10 million$ from Belson. But Bachman stated that Jared is no more than one of the many vulptures in the Silicon Valley and told Richard to not let him in.
Richard met Peter Gregory along with Bachman to "salute" him and take the 200k check but he was embarassed since P. Gregory asked for the paperwork describing the company and its strategy, which Richard didnt prepare. Back in the house, he tried to do so but he was stuck so he called Jared for help. Jared was good at it (paperwork and stuff).
Belson heard about it so he asked the advice of his personal "guru" who told him to use his anger to make great decisions (Fun fact: Belson then asked his home AI Audious to play Imagine of John Lennon but it turns out the AI is really bad at voice recognition). Meanwhile at Bachman's place, Jared and Richard interviewed the team to know their exact role in the company:
-Gilfoyle: system architecture, networking, security
-Dinesh: Java specialist
-Big Head: "programming", his greatest argument is that Richard and him were always together: Jared highlighted the fact that camaraderie between them isnt enough to justify any position in the company (B.H said that Larry Page is useless as well but he's still in the head of google along with his best friend Sergei Brin, which is IMO not far from the truth). Bachman, Gilfoyle and Dinesh talked about how much B.H is useless but B.H heard the conversation, he was upset about it and told Richard that he'll resign from his job at Hooli (reminder: Belson's company) and leave the town. When he was back at Hooli to pack up his belongings, Belson asked to meet him to promote him, 600 grand per year just to stay away from the guys, which really triggered Richard.
He finally got the check and went to the bank to deposit it. Once there, B.H phoned him to aknowledge him that Hooli's teams are reverse-engineering Richard's platform prototype to build their own, named Nucleus. Meanwhile the banker notified Richard she cant cash the money because it needed a SS4: in other words, it must be deposited on a registered company's bank account

Jared is a shy, weirdo dude but he's very smart. This second episode shows that even if he's not an engineer, he's essential to the company. He's a hard-worker, a bit naive, puzzling, loyal and this is one of my favorite character in this show, he's very lovely and how people treat him raise sympathy for him
