U.S. Elections Empty US elections

Post by Matt.Randria Sun Oct 09, 2016 12:27 pm

I personally think that today's American elections is choosing between the Devil and the deep blue sea. Because Trump's ideas are, for me, are idealistic and his position on his foreign Policy a little bit extremist. On the other side, Hillary is not that clean... She has a lot of great ideas, but again for me, she doesn't have broad enough shoulders to handle the pressure, and she won't do that much if she gets elected.

The two candidates have a skeleton in the cupboard and a lots of speculations circulate around those two (health, wealth, taxes, emails, ...).

However, I hope that Hillary will be elected, just to not choose Trump and to have a continuity of Barack's terms.

Whoever gets elected, we always say that the best of Politicians is just before voting, after it's another story...

You get everything of American's election this year, it seems to be the good and the bad.

I think Hillary can handle the pressure. Opponents want to settle that image of her but she ever had all political works in USA excepted president. But she knows the presidential life thanks to Bill. And for sure she's one of the most able to handle problems for a president.

In link to your presentation Matt, if Trump's elected, the social problems won't be solved and can maybe get worse.

For peace in america and the world, and not add more problems that it has already now.I prefer soon see Hillary Clinton at the White House, not because she is better than Donald Trump, but be it for the well being of Americans with these social problems (high prices of medicines and schooling Graduate Studies, delinquency, drogs, police blunder, immigration ...) And seen the world order that takes US foreign policy, it is better not take a man who contradicts himself all the time, and rather sentimental about his political opignons and with no experience in politics, confusing his personal success as an businessmen and the management of a State.

And in my opinion, if donald trump happens to win the elections, we might witness a civil war in America, a rise of national extremism around the world, seeing challenges to the international treaties therefore a threat to the peace in the world in general.

I am a democrat lol!

I found this topic very interesting. Just before the second debate ( two days ago), this topic allowed me to know life and course of Clinton and Trump. The presentation was very clean, and explicit. Personnaly, I'm divided about candaidates. Indeed, I think that Trump is unconscious about people ( women ), and other countries. His remarks are totally shifted and he want's to win just with provocation and his money. If Trump become president of E-U, I'm affraid about world-economic and relationships between countries and people inside E-U. I prefere Clinton, but I'm not especially agree with it's proposal. When I watched the resume of the last debate, It was for me more a show TV than a serious programm for presidential elections. I hope that the result of this election will not affect society.

It's an excellent presentation with two students who have a very good level in English. They presented the history of US elections and it was very interesting. Personally I do not know specifically that story, it allowed me to better understand the current discussions. The US elections are a very important moment for the world. The United States is the largest economy in the world. The new president with his government and his new ideas are going to change this country. This change will modify relations with the rest of the world.

Trump is a horrible person, this man can't govern the world's greatest power. It's  a misogynist, an incompetent and mostly his history with the justice is too important to be president.

I think Clinton didn't have enough skills to lead the United States but I prefer Clinton to Trump. If she have a competent government, she will govern the country. Moreover if it's a woman it will be the first time for this country and change it's now (Mr. Holland alias Flamby) !!!!!  Twisted Evil

Post by Clarisse Gilquin Tue Oct 11, 2016 10:35 pm

Tim and Jordy's presentation was very interesting.
Firstly, because it's a subject which is at the heart of today's preoccupations. Elections always are important for countries, but American's election even more important because they weigh a lot in the mondial economy.
Secondly because for me it's very interesting to compare the two candidates and their ideas. They have very different opinions and projects for the country. So, I think it's a good subject to talk about its, and to discuss between us of their projects.
Personally, I would like Clinton to win the elections, because Trump is too much extremist. But I don't know enough to criticize or approve Clinton's projects.
Moreover, with the presentation of Tim and Jordy, now I understand and I know a little more about candidates' ideas. Thank you guys Smile

The choice of the topic was interesting because I really didn't understand the american system about election and now it's more clear and I'm aware that is very important for my own culture.
I can't memorize everything, but anyway it was easy to understand
Clearly I HATE Trump and his idea, i'm not really fan of Clinton because I don't know her entire program but if I have to choose it would be her.
It would be really good if a woman had the Ovale and proves that she can handle it!

Donald Trump dares all and that's what allowed him to win the Republican nomination, to everyone's surprise. But according to several surveys, the way seems clear for Democrat Hillary Clinton in the US presidential election. The best thing Trump can hope for is a misstep from Clinton.
Personally, I don't like Trump, nor his ideologies and hope that Clinton will win the elections

The presentation of Tim and Jordy was clear and well built. I enjoyed walking to understand how the US elections before learning more about each candidate.
Unsurprisingly I prefer Hillary Clinton. Donald Trump thinks only meet whims of billionaires and is incapable of governing a country.
Clinton seems to be a default choice for Americans but hopefully she will be well surrounded.

Tim and Jordy's presentation was very interesting. They spoke very well and they made some jokes. I didn't understand all the American system, i think it's very complicated but sure it has advantages.
I don't like Donald Trump, I think it's a rude person. Sure that he doesn't have Obama elegance. However, he succeed as businessman, he has lots of firms, but not all well managed. I understand that he represent the American dream for lots of American, even he doesn't started from the bottom, he was already rich, thanks to his father.
I don't like Hillary Clinton no more, I believe she's not authentic, she has secrets, she always supported wars. Sure she will become President, but nothing will change in the United States.

I'm not really that into US politics anymore since Obama is leaving and that I never got to go and see him personally but I have to recognize that in the few last weeks I paid a little more attention to both candidates and really try to pick their mind a little. I'm not really sold on any of them but I definetly don't like Donald Trump's persona and I think he might even be dangerously idiotic to not realize that this man could be on top of the most powerful country in the world while he has so many out-of-line and borderline "childish" responses and meltdowns. The presentation confirmed some of the things I didn't quite fully understand and it was great to feel I'm not the only one who seem to dislike Mr Trump.

It seemed that one should always prefer the slightest evil when choice imposes it on us. Personally I would have liked to see Hillary Clinton won the elections. The voters decided otherwise hurt his lead of 2 million votes on his rival Donald Trump. This victory shows the dysfunctions of the American electoral system, and also the limits of polling institutes.
With the victory of Donald Trump, as the Americans say, that God bless America!!!!!!! Smile Smile Smile

No one saw the victory of Trump, he is formering his government with a club of billionaire it will be fun to see how he will run the contry , But if the American electoral system was the same as the most countries he wouldn 't win ; Clinton had more votes but since we chose the big electors , she lost unfortunately

One day, my friend who works in USA has been asked by her American friend for one question that 'what does the chinese think ab our elections?'. My friend told him that she doesn't care,it doesn't matter and it's not a qustion that serious. At the end, her friend said,' I think the whole world is watching us,it's such a shame. I hope that u won't judge us..'
certainly, its none of my business, i won't judge anything. what i want is just tell u a little story ab us elections..

hi everybody

it was a very interesting subject
Donald Trump has defied all expectations from the very start of his presidential campaign more than a year ago.

Nonetheless, hillary clinton has received 1.5 million votes in his favor. But the system of great scorers allowed Trump to take it away

We will see what that gives in the future...

good presentation;)
