In this video Camille A Brown, choreographer and educator, presents the different dance styles that emerged throughout history.

She tell us that the Bop a social dance that expressed by a community. She also talks the dance Juba, born African slaves on plantations in the America. She explained that it was a way to remember where they came from. She speaks of Charleston, born an improvisational dance in 1920 of a black community in South Carolina. Moreover, she speaks of a very popular dance that is the Twist. She says that this dance was popularized by Chubby Checker and Dick Clark. Finally, in the 80s and 90s, hip-hop appears. This is an Afro-American social dance which is better known than previous dances.

She ends by saying that today the dance evolves and develops again.
