James Randi is a skeptic and in this TED talk, he exposes people assumptions, psychics, homeopathy and this kind of scam which cost a lot of money to who believe them. To do so, he took a supposedly fatal dose on stage of homeopathic sleeping pills while he talked about psychics. This talk shows well how fake the psychics and some common beliefs are fake, inflamed by the society, the media promote these kind of nonsense and it's getting worse. Some psychics nowadays earn more money per hour than a lawyer. He has a foundation which have as mission to analyze any form of paranormal stuff, and if it's proved, the author will get a 1 million dollars check. Many tried and many failed so far. I discovered J. Randi through this video and since then, I watched a lot of other ones and read a lot about him.

I haven't watched this yet but I'm amazed how governments allow this type of scam to exist. Still they allow Religion too.

Well, it's for the freedom of religion and belief sake. Which is really astonishing is that there are so many people believing them. I guess it's easier to wear a blinker then facing the reality, so bad.
