Stolen children in the UK !!

Post by Mathilde L on Sat Nov 19, 2016 3:33 pm

I scandalized ! I just watched a documentary about an actual horrible fact : Stolen English children.
In the United Kingdom, social services are financially encouraged to remove their children from parents who are suspected of being mistreated or deemed incapable of assuming their role, such as single mothers or destitute couples. By 2015, 7740 children were waiting for adoption by well-to-do couples who can put their ideal research profile online. Because of the law, parents and journalists can't communicate on this drama.
Established in 1989 on the initiative of Thatcher's government the Children Act gives the complete right to child protection services in the United Kingdom to remove children from their biological families on suspicion of mistreatment, present or future (no evidence are requested).
After that, the child is placed temporarily in host family which is paid by the country around 500£/week/child, in order to be "sale" by a private company as a pet to a new definitive family by an organism using promotional video and catalog. This company discuss with the future new parents according to what they want and don't about the baby (skin color, diseases, origin...)
It was on French TV (sorry John)

You are right Camila ! But it's an extreme case because the government officially requests the social services to take the children...Sad
