CHRISTMAS !

Christmas comes soon ! So what do you think about this time of year that makes everybody so joyful !

I find the Christmas period is really magic, there is a good mood, people like to prepare this time of the year. There is an enthusiasm for meal but also for finding the presents !  I really like to make the christmas gifts. Even if sometimes it's very difficult to find an idea for everybody (But I also like to receive gifts) ! And of course,  I like to find all my family again around a GOOD and BIG meal ! At home, we make the Christmas dinner (24) but we give ourselves the gifts the next day (25) and we eat the 24 and the 25 ! (Thanks the extra kilos ! ) For me, Christmas is the 25 not the 24 ! I'm really impatient like a child !

And you, Do you like Christmas ? Have you got traditions in your families ?

Christmas is my favorite time of the year! I love everything about christmas <3 I love listening to christmas songs, watching christmas movies and eating christmas foods (yummy!). I love christmas lighting and decorations. I love decorating for christmas .

I'm agree with you Tatiana ! Like you, I love watching christmas movies ! There are tons during Christmas Holidays. They have already begun on M6 everyday at 13h45 ! ( If you want to watch Christmas Movies John, because we are in class !

Seriously, I like this period because it's magic thanks to decorations in cities and in shops. I hope to go in Bordeaux but we have a lot of work... We also have to decorate houses. I love to decorate my house because I make that with my family.
Christmas it's also a way to see my family. We are reunited for this event. This year, I'm in Angoulême so I don't see them very often.

But like you, I like to decorate the fir tree ! But, I noticed there are less decorations on houses, and in the cities ...It's too bad .. I don't know if you think the same thing ?

I love christmas,we can eat lots of good things ! I also like all decorations and ambiances in stores. The advertisements for toys are also very funny. The only thing that bores me a little is the gifts, I never know what to buy for my families and nobody have any ideas to give me ... And i also never know what I want... But this holiday is special it's a good time to spend with family

I went during Halloween there are 3 years but never during Christmas. I really would like to go during this period because it must be magic ! But it's a budget...

So am I Tatiana! I love singing Xmas songs but in English. I find them more joyful, we feel more the magic and energy of Christmas! Moreover i just loove decorating my family's house but also the trees of my garden with fairy lights ! But my favourite part since my earliest childhood it's obviously the Christmas Tree ! I think that i took this passion for decorating too much the house for Christmas from my mom. She's just a freak! She wants to have the most beautiful (and decorated) house of the neighbourhood! So... from December to the 1st February, it is hard to not find our house with all of these lights! I also love cooking for Christmas (more especially the chestnuts Yule log). As you said Angélique, Christmas is the perfect occasion to get together with the family around a delicious meal ( meal that lasts all the night in my family, from 7pm to midnight ahaha *italian origins hello*)

Yes I guess it's expensive, but maybe it's worth being there for Xmas time ! I will go to Disney when I will start to work !

Oh, I find it's cool that your house is decorated ! As at your home, my meal lasts for a long time ! But I like that because it's great to be together ! This year even more because I see them less often since I'm in Angoulême.

They speak about Christmas to Disney on 7à8 in TF1 at the moment !!!

Yes I agree with you Angélique. I think that people don't decorate houses as before. It's too bad. For example, when I was young, the street of my grand mother was full of decoration. Last year, only one house was decorated. In cities, it's the same. I think it's due to budget. Cities have less money to decorate cities...

You should go to Bordeaux these holidays, it's beautiful during Christmas holidays moreover the Xmas market is the thing to do and we can eat delicious things !

I love Christmas !!! It's a period when everyone is happy!    People forget their different and just want to find their families, gifts, ... They just wish to have fun and enjoy the moment. It only happens once a year  
But it's not all the atmosphere is exceptionnel! All the french cities are decorated! We find ourselves immersed in a kind of magic. It warms hearts to see so much animation and joy. Noel is for me the true magic of this world.
When the Christmas season arrives you also have the Christmas meal with the "buche de noel" and the turkey.    Yum !!! I salivate in advance.


I'm not a fan of Christmas movies, it's alwas the same movies every year. Some are too childish or too much "eau de rose". It is not that I do not like, I appreciate to see them but a little of them   .
I can not wait to see Santa Claus ! It's been 10 years since i did not seen him    I hope he will come this time !

I used to love Christmas when I was a child. I loved the christmas spirit with lights on the christmas tree. My father disguised himself into Santa Claus. He was shouting (like AH AH AH) before coming in the house and drinking wine and biscuits that we prepared for him. We were hiding in a room when he was coming. We were so scared and excited at the same time. And then, on the 24th December at midnight, we opened the gifts with all my family. I will always remember those moments.

But now, as we know that santa claus doesn't really exists, magic is not so present. I prefer eating good food and be with my family more than receiving gifts.

On the 25th December, we always do a family meal ! It's a tradition.

As a child Christmas was a great time, then as a Parent it's a magical time but once your children have left home it becomes a sad time - at least until you find a new rhythm/habit.

I think Christmas in England (and probably the north of France) is better than in the South of France as the cold weather and snow make a much better ambience. I find it strange how late my town puts up it's christmas decorations and then really weird how long they leave them up. In England decorations are supposed to be taken down on the 6th January.

I once spent Christmas in the Bahamas - that's really strange as it's so hot - they put cotton wool on the ground to look like snow and Father Christmas is a large black man in a big red coat - not ideal for the temperature.

I took my children to Lapland for a short holiday just before christmas when they were young. That was fantastic - sleigh rides, cutting down and decorating the chrsitmas tree, building snowmen, ice fishing and then visiting Santa Claus and his elves in their town in Rovaniemi.

This year my children are all away again so my wife and I will go to San Sebastien for a couple of days at Christmas and hopefully find a good Spanish restaurant for our Christmas dinner.

Oh, I love Foie Gras but I'm never sure which I should buy as there are so many to choose from. My wife doesn't eat it though (she's nearly vegetarian) so I get it all to myself.

Noel is approaching and I'm like a child.
At home gifts and meals are present. We offer gifts to everyone: brothers and sister, cousins, parents ...
Everyone gets full of gifts from everyone!
For the meal we go to the restaurant on the 24th at night, since we are grown up. And on the 25th we spend the day eating homemade meals. We eat a lot lunch and evening too. It's a lot but it's good. haha
Otherwise, I love to look for good gift ideas, especially for my boyfriend. I like to make a surprise every year.
And as Tatiana says, there are all her films and music that remelllent noel.

I also like to do Christmas markets. I do not know if you have already visited that of strasbourg? I look forward to it, it's one of the biggest!

I really like Christmas, mostly because: HOLIDAYS! GIFTS! FOOD!
However, now that I don't live with my parents, Christmas carries a new meaning, it means that I'll finally get to see my parents and my brother! Once every two months is a pretty long wait...
