Good evening
Really nice one to discuss, i guess. This matter is reaally interesting nowadays. What do we have: legalised alcohol which is a reason of many crimes, fights and other terrible things; unhappy families, broken fates etc. BUT cannabis isn't legalised because of his "negative effects" . Okay, i do understand that alcohol for several countries is one of the biggest part of their total income, revenue; and yes, people like being drunk or it's a part of parties, celebrations of something but everybody knows consequences of it. If government gives people opportunity to get smoke without fear of being arested i think things gonna be better. To be honest, majority of people knows who smokes and who does not; who can get it and who can't but they got to hide, create new ways of delivery cannabis. Come on, i mean there is no any bad effects maybe even good: people get more friendly, more calm and happy. It's not the alcohol-best friend of depression, melancholy and loneliness. No man who falls out of his life for weeks because of cannabis, husbands don't leave theirs families because of cannabis, nobody spends all his money on casino or something like that because of cannabis. I propose to legalise cannabis. If not, let's forbid alcohol too.

Hi, I think you're right but we have to mention other positive aspects of legalization. Obviously the business of cannabis is always related to mafia or gangs, so settle a legal business of soft drugs as cannabis could be a way to reduce banditry. Everybody knows that but we need to know another aspect of legalization to understand the problem. Indeed legalization of cannabis means the end of a lucrative activity for some neighborhoods or populations (in France for instance). That would be the beginning of a huge social conflict for the government. So from my point of view the government prefers social peace in its hard neighborhoods rather than the end of the illegal drug trade.

Hi !
Let’s talk about of cannabis should be legalized or not. On one hand, the drug is among the least dangerous and can technically be produced at home, but on the other hand, it’s often dubbed a “gateway drug” since its consumption can lead to more dangerous substances. Therefore, pro-legalization activists say that cannabis would be consumed whatever the legislation due to its ease of access and that making it lawful would ensure fiscal revenues for the government and regulate the way it is produced and consumed. Anti-legalization activists, for their part, say that allowing its consumption would bring more people, including the younger ones, to the drug thing, to a more dangerous drugs. In any case, one shouldn’t forget that these more dangerous substances are the cause of death for thousands of Latin Americans due to war between cartels in Colombia and Mexico for the control of the drug routes. To conclude studies have shown that cannabis use causes brain damage and a decrease in concentration and memory to long-term. Cannabis should remain illegal for this reason.

Hello everybody

Shall we legalized the cannabis consumption ? Is it dangerous for the health or not ?
Personally i think that it should not be legalized. In fact there is a lack of information and of studies concerning a long term consumption. We know that it not good for young people (mostly under the age of 18) because it can lead to psychosis which is irreversible.
Yes cannabis can be dangerous all the more that its content of THC increased a lot due to the crossing of several species of weed.
Moreover with its legalization would come the edible derivative products even more powerful than the smokable one. The real danger of that kind of product is the fact that they look like the usual cake or candy. If children eat it they would be intoxicated and could even die. Unfortunately the number of this kind of accident increased in States where cannabis was legalized.
But cannabis isn't such a bad things. It can be a good support for sick people by stimulating their appetite and it is somehow a natural antidepressant.
Consuming cannabis is as consuming alcohol both can be dangerous but it mostly depend of the consumers.

First of all, it’s important to highlight the difference between legalization and decriminalization. When a product is legalized no fine, or criminal charges can be applied, unlike decriminalization removed criminal charges but not the fines.
In France, the minister of the interior decided instead to decriminalization, but it will be ineffective. Anybody can obtain cannabis everywhere at very lower price thanks to competition between dealers. The latter are tolerated because they cannot all sent to jail. Decriminalization leads to not having rules it undermines democracy.
I think cannabis should be legalized, because legalization in addition to increase revenue of the stat, will decrease public spending provided to repression of the use of cannabis. The state could monopolize the distribution, control it, to prohibit advertising, to punish those who will sell cannabis to minors. Furthermore, legalization can create more employment in the countries, and that create more revenue, what is necessary to make our economy stronger. And the quality of the product can be controlled.

I agree with you.
The legalization of alcohol and cannabis should be treated at the same time.
According to American studies, cannabis is 114 times less deadly than alcohol.
So why is alcohol consumption legal in France but not cannabis?
And why this policy in France?

For me, I am not interested at all on this subject, because it does not concern me. However, this is a topical subject.

To answer the question, we have to look at the effects of legalization of cannabis in the United States :
First, we can think that as a result of legalization, consumption would increase. On the contrary, consumption has decreased, especially among the younger ones.
So, less repression would lead more relaxed people and fewer crimes.

Hello everybody

I hope you're spending a good holidays.
Let's talk about cannabis ! I don't doubt that if some governments forbid illicit product consumption there is a reason for that. It's true that we are free to consum anything we want but smoking this shit can have an impact in our body and our behavior. Consequencies become worst and can destroy ourself. I'm real

Yes Roshni, I agree with you ! I totally think differently from others. Many students think that cannabis should be legalized. Of course, when you feel, even at the exit of the RU ( restau U ), the odd smells of some cigarettes ... then we understand why ...
On the other hand, I think that students do not realize from a medical point of view, the dangerousness of cannabis.
Cannabis does not just make "happy" or "friendlier", it destroys the nervous system as we consume. Clearly, in the long run, it drives crazy! Mental illnesses appear. Admittedly, it is 114 times less deadly than alcohol. But between us, do not die from alcohol consumption but become crazy because of cannabis, is it really better?
That's why I'm against the legalization of cannabis. Because there will still be no more control, if it becomes legal. This kind of things are hard to control. Like alcohol.
Moreover, talking about alcohol, I think the state would do better to limit this product, which is a scourge in our current society. But alcohol has long been in the culture of countries. For centuries ... which makes things complicated.
But if, for the sake of health, cannabis is still banned, then alcohol should also be banned and why not tobacco, which is also responsible for many diseases ... It's a dividing subject, but which is a very important health issue in our society today.

Today, US states are divided on the regulation of cannabis. Some severely punish the possession of more than 1 kilo of Cannabis like Mississippi and South Dakota. Other states, such as Michigan, legalize Cannabis, setting rules to maintain control over the consumption of the population.

The legalization of Cannabis is at the center of all discussions. We hear only about the bad side of Cannabis but not Medical Cannabis for example, which relieves a large number of patients.

The legalization of Cannabis would also control consumption and thus circulate a good quality cannabis and prevent the population to drug use. I really think that legalization can have many positive points but always with a significant control of the state.

Hello !
I think the legalization of cannabis would be a good thing, it's a sweet drug that can be compared to tobacco, alcohol or caffeine.. In comparison with alcohol, cannabis is a totally natural product while alcohol is not really. For me, if the legalization of cannabis is approved it would be in the form of medicalization, this plant has therapeutic benefits, it can fight against diseases such as asthma, anorexia, depression .. etc. Moreover, the legalization of cannabis would make it possible to smoke a quality product and reduce the consumption of other illicit products.

hi

i am against legalization of cannabis consumption. even if there is not many studies on cannabis consumption's effects, the little we know about it show it can became a real public health problem. to authorize cannabis consumption for health problem is one thing ( well controled). but while the society is fighting to reduce smoking (tabac) i don't think it is a good idea to make commonplace of cannabis smoking specially because of young people who start smoking and drinking alcohol more and more young, with all consequences we know (like addictions)

hi everyone,
about canabis i am divided on the subject. in one hand I think that this is a good thing that canabis is forbidden in France. I have some friends who smoke and i really don't want to be next to them when they drive. Canabis is a drug even if it's not as violent as others but it still a drug that change your hability to focus. an other reason to fight against canabis is that this plant literraly destroys your brain. smoking this during several years may be really dangerous (just like cigarettes alcool and everything) but with canabis you can be sur that you will become dumb very soon. In the other hand i think that we should let people do what they want concerning their health. if they want to smoke (except when they drive) they should be able to do it legally. Another thing is the money the state spend every year to fight it, drug dealers earns a lot of money because it's illegal. Maybe that legalise it would reduce their gains and this would be a great thing.

Hello, everyone. Vacations are always short…
At first, I thought cannabis as a dangerous drug and know nothing more about it, because it’s illegal in china. My boyfriend told me he has once tried with his friend. I was angry and curious at the same time. He said he wasn’t addicted to cannabis and just like the other young stupid boys, been curious about it and think it’s cool and fun. He thinks i should try it once too and it doesn’t make any damage, but i can’t agree with that. Man people treat it as a relax and compare it with cigarette and alcohol, but it’s really different. In the short term, cannabis can improve people's sensory sensitivity, most of the time, create happiness, sometimes produce anxiety, also has a calming effect, at the expense of IQ is reduced for a period, with a time cognitive distortions. This persistent effect not like what alcohol makes, it can not dissipate very quickly. But the long-term effect is uncertain. There is a butterfly effect due to a reduction of IQ in short-term.
Cannabis’ withdrawal response is lighter, and the withdrawal costs are lower than other drugs, but not meant none. I think it should be illegal and prohibitive. clown

Cannabis
hello, everyone.
this week,we talk about cannabis. First, I want to talk about the situation in China,
In China, cannabis is illegal. If we use cannabis, we may be arrested. It’s so ridiculous that people who support legalize cannabis always show the example of USA. In fact, when it comes to legalization of gun, prostitution or cannabis, the logic is always the same: only when we can’t forbid them, we legalize them. in USA, we legalize cannabis, because we fail to prohibit the circulation of cannabis! If in France, the government has ability to control the circulation of cannabis, why don’t you support the legalization? People only focus on the fact that cannabis is legalized in USA, but ignore the report presented by Federal drug enforcement agency. In the report, it shows that 70% people who smoke regularly cannabis will smoke hard drug and engage violent crime in the future. I think none considerate hard drug and violent crime are good things to society. People usually take chance by smoking cannabis, thinking that they do that just for fun. It’s such an innocent idea. Therefore, if French government can control the circulation of cannabis, we don’t need to legalize it and engage more social problems.

Hello,

Cannabis is a sweet drug, you can not do an overdose of THC for example. The question of legalization is problematic in many states and many discrepancies appear. Indeed, it has been proven that regular cannabis use can lead to nephalic problems in our brain. On the other hand, in some states cannabis is considered a medicinal plant. Many trafficking and delinquency result from the trafficking of cannabis. Some say that to limit the danger, the crimes ... it should be legalized but the traffickers will always find that others things to refourguer and could focus on harder drugs. The question of legalizing alcohol during prohibition in the US is a good example I think.

Hello everyone!

The first time I heard about this word” cannabis” is in primary school. In China, cannabis is a kind of drug which is illegal and forbidden to plant it even put it into the market. It will impair people’s health. Moreover, once you are addicted to using cannabis, you will spend quite a lot of money to buy it. Finally, it will destroy your family and then produce many social problem in the society.

Just like the drug which will damage our health, the cigarette is also a thing that harms health, why most of countries in the world admit the legality of smoking but refuse to legalize the cannabis and other drugs. I think there are 3 principal reasons:

The first one is the higher taxes of the government which gives a huge number of income to the national public finance revenues.

Secondly, smoking slowly poison the smokers, it is not likes the drug which has the toxicity obviously and rapidly. So for the public, the lower price and the lesser damage brought by smoke is more acceptable.

The last one is the difficulty to find a substitute good for replace the cigarette, if the government announce suddenly the cigarette as an illegal thing, not only it will lose the taxes of selling cigarette, but also the black market trade will increase largely.

In a word, I’m against with the legalization of cannabis. And from the country’s position, it is dangerous to legalize the cannabis just for its economic benefit without considering its social threat.

hello,
I have never tasted it and i will never try it.
The cannabis is something bad in my mind. Once you have tried it and were addicted to it, it would destroy your whole life.

I am a very traditional person because i don't like my friends who take drugs. There must be some reasons for them to try this bad thing the first time. Maybe they are under so much pressures or they are so sad and they then use the drugs to relax themselves, but it't the worst way to adjust ourselves. Because the drugs make us blunt in the mind, once you have got addicted to it, all you want is to get more drugs everyday no matter how much cost it. You will become more easy to get angry and emotional, you are not a sane people anymore.

If you are not happy one day, you should eat something you like to get more happiness, to meet your friends and have a drink together, or to do sports to release the pressure... The life is so beautiful and we should cherish it. Do keep away from the drugs !

hi,
The topic of cannabis is complex. You can't only say "smoke cannabis is bad". 1.5 million of french people smoke cannabis regularly and the trafic represent more than 3% of GDP. Indeed, we can think that the legalization of cannabis would improve the french economic situation, destroy and control this illegal network, reduce violence... Nevertheless, we must consider others aspects. For instance, be member of illegal network is the last solution for lot of poor people doomed to failure. The legalization of cannabis would provoke a social unrest.

The Cannabis topic is really complex. Everyone will have its own point of view. About the legalization of cannabis ... Well... Some country already agree to that when others still say no.
For example, cannabis for therapeutic use will be authorized within two years in Luxembourg for heavy diseases such as multiple sclerosis or cancer. The project, announced by the Minister of Health Tuesday, is to go through the doctors to define who will be the beneficiaries of this device.

Hi everyone!
Lets talk about legalization of cannabis!
People of all the world hive off when they start to discuss about legalization. And I feel it's normal because we are different and we have a different views on one subject.
Legality of cannabis varies from country to country. In Canada it's passing soon and after in other countries. It's ok, don't worry, please. It should have been done. I think so.
On the one hand, i'm not against legalization of cannabis. People would be happier than now, maybe. There are big choice of this product in the market, maybe. People wouldn't hunt after it and subsequently we would lose a desire to taste it. The Forbidden fruit is sweet, yes?
On the other hand, i don't want that anyone could buy marijuana. No, thank you. But I know clearly that when a man or woman or child want anything passionately, they'll achieve it. And it seems to me that people don't know their limits. It's bad because the excess/overdose of the WATER in human organism have a dreadful effects(edema, increased heart strain etc)
Therefore, in conclusion i'll say you: if Legalization of Cannabis passe, all i beg:
not to sell it for humans before 18y.o
to let it off by doses(ex: 5gr to 10kg).
If you want to use it, do it.
Thanks Smile

While the debate about legalisation of cannabis is endlessly fascinating, it obscures the vital question of how to design a system of legal availability
Prohibition produces some very bad results. It deprives millions of people of the liberty to pursue what would be, for them, a harmless pleasure. It creates an illicit market that delivers tens of billions of dollars a year to criminals. It leads to large numbers of arrests (mostly for possession for personal use)
On the other hand, prohibition maintains high prices, discouraging heavy use and use by minors. The problem is how to shed the harms of prohibition while minimising the harms of legalisation. The desirable outcomes are cannabis available to adults who want to use it in moderation and abolition of the illicit trade but without significant increases in habitual heavy use or in more-than-occasional use by minors.

I have two points of view about the legalization of cannabis.
A positive one because it would have a positive impact on the economy of the country, and reduce criminality. The quality control of the products would be easier too.
Cannabis is as dangerous as some products that are already legalized, like tobacco or alcohol. Maybe cannabis is even less dangerous than these products.
On another hand, if cannabis is maybe not dangerous in a court term view, an important consumption of cannabis in a long term view are risky, for the brain especially. And the risks about driving under the effect of the cannabis are high.
So, the legalization of cannabis has advantages and disadvantages.
