Emblem of Reunion is rum. It is manufactured on the island. It comes from sugar cane is grown throughout the year. Sugar cane is cut by hand in the field. Then it is transported to the distillation plant where it is pressing . After masseration cane juice becomes alcohol. The Charrette rum is the best known , it is drunk as ti punch , cocktail and make rum arranged with various local fruit .
It is the pride of this island .
To drink with moderation of course Smile
