Hello everyone!
What not a subject about food! I found some crazy examples about weird and super fat food. Thanks to the Americans, my diet is in trouble! But on the other way, diets take a big part of the “food norms” and “eating rituals”.
Everybody knows obesity problems, and anorexia on the other way. But in both cases we have many commercial and other recipes everyday about diet food and fried oil bacon cheese (yes they even fry the oil!) …

I would like your opinion about promoting on one hand super fat food and the other one the cult of skinny bodies!

Sounds like fun to talk about food while being like 30 minutes before lunch break ! Makes me think I'm hungry !

I don´t know what do you thing…but the country representative of obesity is USA without a doubt and the country representative of anorexia and bulimia is France…
Here, you speak all time about calories and even the skinniest person wants to be skinnier and skinnier…Is crazy but the social pressure is too strong and we can feel it!

Not sure, The French are on a trend to obesity which the English have already mastered.

I love food but as my life has become more sedentary I've found that you actually have to eat almost nothing if you don't want to gain weight. It's a great frustration.

I went to the SIAL and this place is the paradise for food !!!!
I was like a child who didn't know where to look because there was food everywhere !!!
What I saw is that there is a big tendance for vegan food, and gluten free food, and lactose free food... I couldn't help beeing scared that in a few years meat won't be meat, and cheese won't be cheese : it will look like it but it won't be some.... :'(

And for me it's just some marketing to create some meat without meat just for fustrated vegans... Because a true vegan for me will eat fruits and vegetable and he won't be fustrated of not being able to eat meat ! Moreover : by creating a false meat it's not a natural product and so full of chemicals and fats...

About vegan food, I think if tendance is good for health and for the earth we should be happy... but as a cheese lover, I'm also not convinced by fake cheese

Why does the packaging look so insipid? We need some CEPE students to make Vegan food look more appetising.

I used to be a great meat lover, especially beef but I eat a lot less now and when I do I prefer Lamb or Duck. Many of my meals are a mixture of Fruit especially Mango, Bananas and Pineapple with salad "vegetables" cucumber, radish, onions ... and surprisingly I really enjoy them but I'll never want to stop eating meat entirely. I understand the ethical stance but I don't have a problem with it even though I love animals.

It's true there are a lot of problem about the food. But for me it's a moment of pleasure. For exemple a good lunch with my family of my friend it's a great moment for me.

Yes american a fu****g crazy with food. The loooove eat and eat fat stuff but they also are crazy about their body and images so they're always on diet.
Today is Thanksgiving so they will eat for hours and after for weeks they will track their calories..
But not all americans are doing that because a lot of people are obese (you know, fat is life!)
And they are always the craziest to imagine recipe for milkshake, donuts, cronuts,....

I remember the first time that I was in Egypt and I was trying to eat all the real Egyptian food that I could. I was given Om Ali and told that it was an old Egyptian food (dessert!) when I ate it I realised that it was an old English food too. We call it bread and butter pudding. There must be exactly the same here in France.

It's a meal to use up your old bread (or pain raisins). You have the bread with milk and dried raisins and nuts and sugar and you bake it in the oven.

It's tasty but I think it exists in many countries and was a way not to waste food before our society beame so rich that it could just throw tonnes of food away every day.

John , maybe!! i don't know much about that but all i know that it is the most famous and traditional Egyptian warm desert. And to make it we use either butter croissants or mille-feuilles not our old bread nor pain raisins.
