Ted talk: A visual history of social dance in 25 moves

Today I'm gonna show u a funny think. It'S about social dance.
What is social dance?
Social dance is that category of dances that habbe a social function and context. Social dances are generally intended for participation rather than performance and can be led and followed with relative ease.
The first dance introduced is the bop. It's a type of social dance. As she said dance is a language, and the social dance is a dance that emerge of a community.
The second dance we see is called the whip, then the nae-nae very (became famous thank's to Slineto with his music whatch me nae nae).
A social dance can be choreographed by any one. You can choose your moves every one can agree on. Because of that social dance is bubble up. The social dance exist since very long time. There were the shay shay in jamaica, and the unknown it's haitian social dance.
In africa america social dance we see over 200 years how african and african america influence the history. The present always contains the past.
The druben? dance was born from african slaves experience on plantation. This moves allowed to the slave to remember where they are from.
The aim is to keep alive their culture and tradition, but also retaining a sence of freedom under captivity.
An other dance was create in the same spirit the cakewalk , the crazy think about this dance is that the cakewalk was performed for the masters who never suspected they were being made fun off.
Social dance is about community and connection, if you know the steps it makes you belong to a group. There is a famous dance brought to america from congo during slavery, it's the twist.
In the 90's an other type of dance was born. It's the hip hop.
To day this dance continue to evolve and spread.
