Marketing department spend a lot of time and money analyzing data and tracking performance metrics but usually to translate into action items and provide strategic advantage. The problem is that they miss the key signs because of the Giraffe Effect.
But what is a giraffe in the data universe?
Giraffes are one piece of data dominate the rest. The difficulty is that the size of information is so big that we focus our attention in this part forgetting the others “animals “. So the other data in the set often disappear from view.
