The golden ball is a reward for the best players. The golden ball was created by the magazine France football in 1956. Since 2007 the golden ball rewards the best players of all the championships combined. The votes are awarded by international journalist. The golden ball is designed in Paris by a jeweller. It is estimated at 13000 euro. Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are the most successful players since the creation of the golden ball with 5 trophies.
