The Golden Ball is awarded to the best football player of the year. It was created in 1956 by the magazine of France football. From 1995 to 2006, the Golden bal lis awarded to the best player in a European Championship regardless of nationality. Since 2007 it rewards the best player in the world, that is to say without distinction of championship or nationality.
At its creation the trophy and then awarded by an international jury composed of spacialized journalists. Then in 2010 he merged with the title of FIFA’s best footballer of the year for coming « FIFA gold balloon awarded » by captains of national selection of breeders ans journalists. In 2016 France football and FIFA stop their partnership.
Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo are the most successful players since the creation of the Golden Ball they have 5.
