I have never been to the united states but I really want to go there at leastin my life. The country is huge and there are a lot of places to visit like the grand canyon or the golden gate bridge for example. Obsiously if I want to go there it is not only about the places but about the junk food. I want to try all the fast foods, pizza, burgers , chinese restaurants in china town, mexicans restaurants... And the last reason why I want to go to US is to play in the big casinos of Las Vegas.

Roman Polanski is a French-Polish film producer that is accused of sexual abuse and for being a paedophile. For a month we have heard about him because he was nominated to win the best film in the Cesar ceremony, and he ended up winning it. I think it is shameful someone who is running from justice can be awarded in another country. I think also that it is disrespectful for his victims. Some people keep saying that we have to separate the man and the artist in this case, but no matter the profession you make you need to be treated the same way as others. If a PE teacher kills a person we will not say « ok, he killed someone but we have to admit he was a great teacher » because it has no relation with it so if Roman Polanski is really a rapist and a paedophile, he has to pay for his crimes and not be awarded for a film he made.

Hello John! I have never been to the USA but I would love to go there but I think it is the trip of a lifetime because it is very expensive. I would very much like to go to New York because it is really the typical city where everything is excessive. Everything is very big. Central Park must be very pretty. There are also the Hamich not very far from New York, it is a population living like in the 19th century I think and it must be good to see other cultures.

The United States is one of the most interesting countries to visit. With dozens of mythical sites and a huge territory, the United States is an exceptional tourist destination and I would like to visit it in the near future.
The culture of sport is very present there, sport is very important.
The four most popular sports are American football, baseball, basketball and ice hockey.
If I have the opportunity to go to America I will take the opportunity to go to an nba game.
Sports activities are particularly associated with education in the United States, where most high schools and universities organize sporting events. School sports competitions play an important role in American sports culture. Much more important than in France.

My dream is to go in America because i think it's the country where everything is possible. Indeed there are evrything, fast-food,restaurant,festival,stars,store for clothes...
I really want to go to America to see US star in rap like Travis Scott or Asap Rocky, because theses singers dont make concert in France or even if there is concert in France it's full in 2minutes. Also America is the country with big buldings etc. I want to discover a new culture and also new nationnality.

I already visited the United States 2 times. The first one was in Alaska where I did an expedition. The second one was a 2 weeks trip with my little brother, my dad and a friend. We went in the West Coast in California. We landed at Los Angeles where we directly rented a car to visit the different areas that we had planned in our trip. We started to visit the Grand Canyon where we camped just at the edge of a cliff (he was not clearly noticed that it was forbidden, but I guess it was). We also visited other famous places like Monument Valley, the valley of fire and the valley of the death... One place especially surpised me because of its beauty : Bryce canyon. Indeed, this canyon has huge and thin peaks which are white at the top.
I did not spend too much time in Los Angeles or other cities because it was not the purpose of our travel.

Helo for me roman polanski is a big son of a bitch for the different rapes because he raped many girls who had 15 years old it's degusting for me if i president i decide to sprent polanski in usa have him tried for his multiple crimes. And also for the Cesar he should never have been nominated and never won the césar for best director because it gives a bad image but also because we let things do without doing anything and that's immoral.

Hi John ! I think it can be interesting to talk about Roman Polanski. So, this judicial affair is not as simple as it seems. Polanski was accused for rape, but he defended himself by saying that the girl who accusated him was consenting. Then, he was imprisoned for 42 days, instead of 90, because of his good behavior. After that, the judge wanted to condamn him another time, officially for an undetarminated length, but in fact for 48 days if he accepts to leave the united states. So, Polanski heard that he wold be imprisoned a second time, for an undeterminated lenght, which could last 50 years, so he decided to go in France, to escape it.
I'm not here to condamn by my own Polanski, the affair is too complicated, and it is not to me to do it. I just want to share the problems of this affair, according to what i understood. First : Polanski had a relation with a 13 years old girl. Even if she seemed consenting, and even if the law let it happen, or not, we can debate about if it is moral to do it, because the girl was very young, was she at least, even if she was consenting, conscious of what she was doing ? It could be easy to maniplate such young people, I think it is bad to have sex with them.
Another problem in this affair is about the judge, who wanted to condamn Polanski a second time. It is not moral too, but the problem is the american system, where judges are elected (i don't know more about this and what it really means) so it could be seem understable for the judge to condamn more Polanski in order to be loved by the public. So, one of the problems concerns how judges are elected (or chosen).

Hi John,
Before the oscars of this year, I have never heard oh the history of Roman Polanski.
Roman polanski, is a french-polish producer, who is suspected of rape on young girls. He was juged for the fact, and he made his sentences. So, for me, it's not normal to put a lot of shame on him like this. I don't approved what he do in the past. But we must forget him, because whe was juged, so we don't have to juged him again. And also not like this.
This year, he won the oscars, and a lot off people are injured by this. Because he has raped girls. But the oscars congrats what he has do, not him. So, I think we must stop to blame him, and appreciate what he has do, or if it's not possible, diregard him.

Hi John, I don't know all the facts abouts Roman Polanski so I can't speak a lot about it. What he did is horrible a people like that have to be in jail for their entire life or dead ( It is my opinion ). For the Cesar's Ceremony, Polanski won the Cesar for "The best film-maker" which is for me a huge error and an akward deed. If the jury wants to reward what he did, they should give him just an award for the film and not for being him. The Cesar of the best film-maker is the most wanted by everyone and they give it to a rappist pedophile. You can reward his film but not the person in my opinion.
See you maybe one day John, enjoy the time you'll spend with your dog and your wife.

This week I will choose the subject of the United States because the subject of Roman Polanski does not inspire me too much, I do not know what to say other than the fact that I find it unacceptable that this man be rewarded at the Caesars while he is accused of rape.
this being said, I will now talk about the United States. this country is part of my dream destination. Indeed, I would like to go to the United States to visit this beautiful country. I’d like to cross it from east to west and north to south. There are so many cities I’d like to visit. If I had to list a few of them, it would be New York, Washington, Miami, LA, Vegas and so many others. if I have the chance to go I would like to go at least a month because otherwise I would not have the time to do everything. It’s a bit of a cliché, but if I’m going to this country, I want to see an NBA game and a baseball game because at home the sport is a show in its own right with an atmosphere of madness. I’ll stop there because right now it’s just a dream and I could talk about it for a long time.

I want to visite ths country because i think it is to be done once but it's to artificial for me like the city of Las Vegas. I think it's good for past 4 or 5 days but after it's a little bit repetitive, i want to travel around the world but for me this country is not a priority.

I didn’t watch the Oscar ceremony but I heard about Roman Polanski that I didn’t know. I’m not interested in talking about him, because I don’t think he should have won an Oscar. I prefer to talk about the United States. I hope in the future that I could travel in this country because I think it is a fantastic country with a lot of very interesting things to do like casinos, beaches or even visit Hollywood for example .It’s a dream to travel there

Hello John, today I'am going to talk about the USA because I don't know all the story of Roman Polanski except he rape many young girl. So I prefer talk about a beautiful country than a pedophile.
So the USA is a big country, with many beautiful city like Las Vegas, New York etc... I really would like to travel in USA because It's seems beautiful. In sport for example, even if they are shit in football, a basketball match would be great to see because of the atmosphere in the stadium. They don't love the same sport, because they love the basketball, the baseball, the American football, and I don't really know this sport so I would like to see one of them because I like to see new sport.

Hello John, today I'm going to talk about the USA because I don't know all the story of Polanski except he rape young girls. So I prefer talk about a city of USA. I like many thing in this country, but my favorite city is Chicago. Indeed, it's the world capital of architecture, I like much his buildings and we can see that there are a lot of old buildings but very original. I think that's what makes this town so charming, interesting. Chicago is also a big city because there is approximately 2,7 millions people. But, now we can see that the city have much evolved, because there have been many constructions of new buildings who look like more a constructions modern, more futuristic. I like this contrast. I hope to one day can to go to this city to discover it more.

S2 w5 U.S. or Roman Polanski. Empty the case of Roman Polanski

Post by Lemarquis Mathis Mon Mar 23, 2020 3:08 pm

The Polanski case is a court case involving the French-Polish director Roman Polanski, arrested and charged in Los Angeles in March 1977 in a case of sexual abuse of a minor against Samantha Gailey, a young girl then thirteen years old.Roman Polanski pleads guilty to illegal sex with a minor. He was sentenced to ninety days in prison and was released for exemplary conduct after serving forty-two. The psychiatric assessment is favorable but the judge, sensitive to criticism from the press and the public, reconsiders his decision - a decision challenged by both the defense and the prosecution - and wishes to condemn Polanski again. The latter fled the United States and settled in France, a country that refused the extradition of its citizens and of which he had nationality. According to Roger Gunson, the prosecutor responsible for the case at the material time, the time spent by Roman Polanski in prison corresponded to the totality of the sentence which he owed and carried out. His victim, Samantha Gailey, publicly forgave him and repeatedly asked for the prosecution to stop. American justice has however always refused to close the case if the director does not return to American soil.

Hi John, recently Roman Polanski received an oscar for the realisation of the movie named "J'accuse" and that created a big polemic because of the accusation of sexually abused against him ! He can be a great filmmaker but you can't reward this guy ! For me it's a professional misconduct from the cesar academy to have kept Roman Polanski in the nominated. You can't just reward the director and not the person, it's impossible ! It's a big lack of reserve for all the victims…

The Franco-Polish director Roman Polanski, author of Rosemary's Baby and Chinatown, is also known for an international judicial soap opera. In 1977 in California, the then 43-year-old director is accused of raping 13-year-old Samantha Geimer. Pleading guilty to "illegal sexual intercourse", he then fled the United States. Arrested in Switzerland in 2009 and released, he was asked to be extradited in 2015 to Poland, which refused. Today, Roman Polanski, 83, lives with actress Emmanuelle Seigner in Paris.

Today I’m going to talk about the U.S. We hear a lot about it because of or thanks to Donald Trump. Since I don’t have much to say. I’m gonna tell a joke about Donald Trump.
A plane with 5 passengers on board (Donald Trump, Boris Johnson, Angela Merkel, The Pope and a 10-year-old schoolgirl) is about to crash and there are only 4 parachutes.
Trump says "I need it. I’m the smartest man in the United States and I need to solve the pandemic." He takes a parachute and jumps.
Johnson says, "I have to settle the COVID-19 mess in Britain." He takes one and jumps.
The Pope says, "The Catholics of the world depend on me for comfort in times of crisis." He takes one and jumps.
"You can have the last parachute" said Angela Merkel to the child " I’ve lived my life. Yours is just beginning"
The little girl replied: "Don’t worry ma'am, there are 2 more: the smartest man in the United States has just jumped with my satchel"

Hi John! I decided to talk about the United States because firstly I don't even know who Roman Polanski is… I was obviously watched on the internet, no wonder I don't know this character since he is part of the world of cinema and considering my excellent cinematographic culture it seemed obvious to me that this man is a stranger to me!
So ... the United States. It is a country in which I would like to travel, my father told me that he made me the trip of my choice (ie Australia) if I had a mention in the bac and a trip to New -York if I had a mention well enough! good bah it turns out that I finished on the island of Oleron to work on the beaches! It was a very good experience, but I still plan to live my tourist experience in the United States one day!
