Devious maids

So let's talk about this series I love so much! This series (well the first season) talks about a mother called Marisol Suarez who pretends to be a maid under the alias Marisol Duarte (because she is a famous professor) in order to find out the truth about the murder her son is accused on. Indeed, her son is accused to have killed his girlfriend, Flora, who was maid in a very chic neighborhood in Beverly Hills. Then, she succeeded to be hired by Flora's previous employer to finally start her investigation. During her research, she will meet four other maids (Flora's close friends) who also work in the same neighborhood. They will bring invaluable help to her but also tons of giggles! What I like about this series is that it's a mix of a crime and romantic-comic shows. In this series we meddle in the life of these Latin American maids, so naturally we become really attached to these characters! This series reminds me a lot of Desperate Housewives even though i prefer Devious Maids by far (but both of them are full of gossips )

I really love this show, it's one of my favourite. I have watched all seasons I agree with you, this TV series looks a lot like Desperate Housewives (same showrunner + produced by Eva Longoria aka Gabrielle Solis).

I won't spoil season 4 because there is no way I'm going to watch this series - unless you convince me otherwise.

I've seen this series on TV, but just some episode. I liked it, like you say, the mix between crime and romantic-comic is very cool ! I think I will watch it in the next months !

Well if I say that in this series there are a lot of sexy latina girls, will convinc you to wtach an episode of it ? More seriously, i think it's hard to convince men to watch this series because i have to be honest that it's a girly oriented series ! However i like the fact this series is highlighting the fact there are still a lot of bias, closed minds from the wealthy American people! Indeed during one episode a woman didn't wanted to hire a maid who wasn't from a latino country such as Mexico, Colombia ...

Indeed, I agree with you Noémie, I think men will not like this series, it is like too girly for them !! We don't care, it is like Grey's Anatomy I think ! Only (or almost) for women haha

Actually Charlotte I've never seen a single episode of this series (Grey's anatomy) aha. I have to admit that usually i'm not a "girly series"... I prefer to watch series such as Quantico, Murder, Doctor Who... and Once upon a time (it looks like a girly series at the first sight as it involves princesses... but not at all!)

We should start to watch Grey's Anato together !

I don't know this series but I LOVE Desperate Housewives !!! So, when I have finished Blindspot maybe that I'm going to begin this one !

What do you mean by "restart"? In the french Tv ? I heard that there won't have a fifth season !! The season is cancelled so the series is over !!

I just checked - not that I'd be interested in watching it - and you're correct cancelled shortly after the end of S4.

My wife quite enjoys desperate Housewives - she watches it when I'm in Angouleme, will she like this too?

I do think she will like this series yes ! It has a lot of similarities with Desperate Housewives such as the characters' personnalities, the mysterious and dubious murder story, black humour but also the famous absurd and love scenes ! It is all about murder, love and imagination like Desperate Housewives. Moreover Devious Maids was produced by Eva Longoria, one of the main actress of Desperate housewives ! So it is obvious she took her inspiration from Desperate Housewives !

If you don't want her to be fustrated like I am, now that I know that there is no new season she souldn't watch it... or she souldn't watch the last episode of the 4th season until the end.... !

Yeah i heard that the fourth season finished in a silly way because we want to know what happens next ! So now i don't know if i want to see this last season ! I What's your advice ? Should I watch this season ? Because as you said I should not see the last episode but if i watch the season, will i have this urge to see all the season or if i stop at the middle, it will be fine?

You can watch the whole season, because we learn interesting things and some funny things happened, but my advice is not to watch the whole last episode. I'll have to check on the timing but I think it's the last 2 or 3 minuts you shouldn't watch or you'll be fustrated ^^
