Game of Thrones - TV serie

Yesterday, I watched an episode of my favorite serie : Game of Thrones. It was the first episode of the 5th season.

This episode begins with a memory of Cersei Lannister. In this scene, we can see her when she was a child. She asks to a "witch" to read her future. Then, the witch reveals her that she will be married to the King and become queen. She also tell her that a new Queen more young than her will take her place. When Cersei ask if she will have children with the King, the witch answers that the King will have more than 20 children but she will only have 3. Finally, she reveals her that her 3 children will die. This scene is interesting because we can make a link between the witch predictions and the real history of Cersei. Indeed, she was really married to the King Robert Baratheon and he cheated on her a lot of times... Then, she had 3 children and her first one, Jeoffrey (who became king after the Robert's death), died from poisoning during his wedding with Margaery Tyrell (season 4). . About the last theory advanced by the witch, there is in this moment of the serie, two possibilities concercing the identity of the new young queen. The first one is Margaery Tyrell who was supposed to marry King Jeoffrey, and who is now in good position to marry the new King Tommel (Jeoffrey's brother).It's one of the reason why Cersei hates Margaery. The second option is of course Daenerys Targaryen who planned in a future more or less close to conquer the iron throne. Today, after the 6th season,

The first episode of 5th season is also marked by the escape of Tyrion Lannister after he killed his father. We can also notice the charitable act of John Snow who has killed Mance Rayder with an arrow on the heart instead of let him burn...

I read the books and started to watch the first series when it was released but I had to stop as my wife said there was too much sex!!

For this week, I have watched the second episode of Game of Thrones’ season 5. This episode is interesting in several points. Indeed, it is one of the first which give some importance to the Martell. In fact, we understand that Ellaria Sand, who was the partner of Oberin Martell (killed by the Mountain in a duel), prepares revenge. That’s why she sent a threatening message to Cersei Lannister. This menace is a snake wearing the Mircella’s necklace (Mircella is the Jaime and Cersei’s daughter, she is in Dorme because she has to marry Tristan Martell). Then, there is also a scene where we can see Ellaria, who threatens the King of Dorme, Doran Martell (Oberyn’s brother), to obtain revenge. These elements are very important for the future of the serie.

Then, another key time of the episode concerns Daenerys Targaryen. Indeed, when she took the city of Meereen, she also freed all the slaves. That’s why the ‘Sons of the harpy’ (the old masters) rebel and kill Immaculates (Daenerys’ guards). The Khaleesi captured one of these murderers and was waiting for a trial before to kill him. However, one of her councillor (an old slave) killed the prisoner before. That’s why the Queen decided to execute him. The execution of the councillor is a major scene of the episode because at this moment, Daenerys loses the confidence of the people she set free.

Hi everybody !

I have just watched the third episode of the 5th season of the amazing serie Game of Thrones !!

This episode is interesting because it marks the appearance of the High Sparrow. He is the leader of a group of extremist religious. This group defends a rigorous practise of the "Faith of the Seven" . Lancel Lannister (Cersei's cousin) is a member of this "religion". During this episode, we can see him with others sparrows in a Littlefinger's brothel. They are here to arrest the Great Septon who is with women. Then, they took him and forced him to walk naked in the city. This scene allows to understand that these religious are just extermists and they begin to earn some power. Then, Cersei Lannister decide to meet the Great Sparrow when we know that the tension between her and Margaery Tyrell is intense. So we can easily expect her to prepare some macchiavellian plan against Margaery.

Another important scene of this episode is when Littlefinger learns to Sansa Stark that she will be married with Ramsay Bolton (the worst monster of all times). I have to remind you that the Bolton played a key role in the Red Wedding. Indeed, the participate to kill a part of Sansa's family (her brother and mother). We can see another time that Peter Bealish (Littlefinger) just serve his own interests.

So, let’s talk about the 4th episode !

In this one, we can see Jaime Lannister going to Dorme with Bronn (a former “friend” of Tyrion Lannister). Together they expect to “kidnap” Mircella (Cersei and Jaime’s daughter) who actually live with the Martell. Jaime wants Mircella to come with them because of the threat received by Cersei (episode 1). He decided to go himself because he didn’t want to send an army and be at the origine of a war. During the trip, Jaime explains to Bronn that he is very angry against Tyrion because he killed their father when he sent him free. He even talks about killing Tyrion the next time he see him.

So, we can hope that Tyrion will stay far from the capital for a long time. In the previous episode we had left Tyrion with Jorah Mormont. Indeed this guy had kidnaped Tyrion in a brothel, while he went to Meereen with Varys to meet Daenerys Targaryen. So, we could think that Jorah wanted to bring Tyrion to Cersei (because she encourages the entire kingdom to kill all the dwarfs just for his brother) but he wants to take him to the Khaleesi. He does that because he wants her to forgive him.

Finally, at the end of the episode, we have attended to an attack from the Sons of the Harpy against the Daenerys’ soldiers. Everybody dies even Barristan Selmy. We’re not sure about the Grey Worm’s death…

Today I have watched the 5th episode of season 5 !

During this episode, John Snow, the new Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch, decides to make a covenant with the Wildings (people living behind the Wall) and swear to Tormund to give them lands in Westeros if they come on the other side of the Wall. He does that because he knows that White Walkers will attack the Wildings to enlarge their army of Death. The announcement of this covenant causes the anger and the incomprehension of a large part of the Night’s Watch. Indeed, the mission of the Night’s Watch is to protect Westeros against the danger of behind the Wall, and for centuries this danger came from the Wildings. John Snow who was already hated by many brothers of the Watch, is taking a big risk.

Then, in this episode, Tyrion Lannister and Jorah Mormont are attacked by “stone men” (people with impressive form of Leprosy) as they pass throught Valyria (the ancient Targaryen’s city which is now abandoned) by boat. During the fight, Jorah is touched by a stone man and we can understand at the end of the episode that he is contaminated.

This week, I have watched the 6th episode !

I didn’t talk about Arya Stark since the beginning of the season. She is Sansa Stark’s sister and she is in Braavos with Jaqen, learning to become a Faceless. In this episode, her training reached a turning point. Indeed, for the first time, she is the one who help a little girl to die, because Jaqen was absent. After that, as usual, she washed the girl’s body but when Jaqen come to take it, for the first time he let Arya come with him. She entered in a huge room with hundreds of human faces. At this moment, Jaqen asked her if she is ready to become a faceless but he answered before her saying that she couldn’t be no one forever but only for a short periode.

Then, in this episode, Petyr Baelish discovered the armed faith on his return to King’s Landing (capital).He received a threat from Lancel Lannister, a sparrow, concerning his brothel.

Finally, the Great Sparrow condemned Loras Tyrell during a trial for homosexuality, but in add, he locked Margaery Tyrell (the Queen) for lying about the sexual proclivities of his brother. By this double incarceration, Cersei Lannister won a victory because it managed to get rid of both Loras with whom she was to be married by the will of his father, but also Margaery who had taken his place of queen. For me, Cersei is unquestionably a monster !

Hi everybody !

This week I have watched the seventh episode.
This episode is important for several aspects. First, it was a great change in the Night Watch. Indeed, Jon Snow, the Lord Commandant, leave the Wall with Tormund and several men to find the others Wildings and bring them to the good side of the Wall. For the duration of his journey, Jon left the command to Alliser Throne, his worst enemy. Doing that, he takes a risk because Alliser could decide to not open the doors when Jon and the Wildings will come back. Because Snow has gone, Samwell Tarly (Jon’s best friend) stay alone and have to assume the security of the Wilding woman that he is in love with and her baby.

Then, to Winterfell, Sansa beg Theon Greyjoy to help her and asked him to light a candle on the window of the highest tower. She did it because she is locked up all day in her room and his husband (Ramsay Bolton which is the most horrible villain of all time) just comes every nights to hurt her or rape her... When she arrived in Winterfell, a woman from the North proposed to bring her help if she need. The candle is the signal. Unfortunately, Theon decides to reveal everything to Ramsay who kills the woman. The hope of escape seems to disappear…

Finally, I have to finish with the better part of the episode. At the end of this one, Cersei Lannister decides to visit Margaery Tyrell (the Queen) in jail. As usual, Cersei feign the kindness but is just too happy to see her here, because she is not a danger anymore. After Margaery threw her out, she asks to the Great Sparrow what will happen for the Tyrell. The Great Sparrow answers but he also says her that someone revealed some informations about her. At this moment Lancel Lannister (her cousin which became a sparrow) enters and she understand (Cersei has already have sex with him and he knows about her a his brother Jaime…). She tries to leave but she is caught and thrown into a cell. I very happy about this ! There is finally a justice in Game of Thrones !!!
