S1E01.
Gotham is the name of a terrible city where crimes are in each street and where politicians and police officers are corrupted. Everybody or almost know this city thanks to Batman.
This tv series relate the history of James Gordon, the famous detective of Batman films.
Episode 1 :
In this first episode, the main character James Gordon is the new arrival in the police department of gotham. Under the orders of the inspector Harvey Bullock, James Gordon have to face a first difficult matter. The parents of Bruce Wayne (famous and rich family in gotham) are killed, and James Gordon promised Bruce Wayne to find the murderer. After have found the main suspect and killed him by legitimate defense, James Gordon understand that the suspect have been trapped by a gang run by Falcone. The inspector Harvey Bullock says to James Gordon to forget this new fact, because they can loose theirs job for the crime of an innocent. During the first episode, James Gordon understand that his superior Bullock has close contacts with Mooney Fish, and begin to suppose that Bullock is corrupted.
Mooney Fish, first lieutenant in the gang of Falcone, understand that if Gordon found the trap for this case, it's because of a guy of the gang who denounced them.
Indeed, it was Oswald (well-known under the name ' The penguin"). After found that, Mooney Fish, asked Bullock to kill him.
Bullock entrust James Gordon to kill him (Maybe for have more powers and means pressure on James). But James didn't do it, and ask Oswald (the penguin) to never come back to Gotham.

The episode begin by the capture of several children who live in the street by two persons. We understand after, that those two persons work for an organization which need lot of children, however we don't know why. James Gordon lead the investigation to find them and the abductors. After cross-check many proofs, he find them and kill the the two kidnappers. One of those children saved by James, tell him that in exchange of the liberty (because the mayor set up a new project for protecting children in the street by sending them to detention center.) she can tell him who killed the Wayne Family, because she saw the scene that night.
Simultaneously, the pinguin far away from gotham, kidnap two richs boys and ask in compensation lot of money at theirs parents for preparing i think a come back to gotham with better means.

- In this 3rd episode, a justicier try to clean the city of bad guys, and during this episode, he attacks few crooks.
Jim Gordon, investigates for finding him and we can see that there is a parallelism with the begininng of "Batman" because Bruce Wayne, still young, is watching the news all the time concerning this investigation and find the justicier as an admirable guy.
During this time, the Pinguin is back to Gotham, begins a new job, and kills people ... He begins the creation of a new network for climbing to the power in gotham ..
At the end of the episode, he goes to Jim Gordon flat, for speaking with him..

"war is coming, there will be blood in the street"
The Wayne's foundation had for aim to refurbish a quarter in gotham, by destroying all the things on place, and by building lot of beautiful block, which should have permitted to have a pleasant roof for the poor people. After, the death of the Mr and Mrs Wayne, the two mains gangs of gotham want to retrieve the rights for this plan.
Few murders are committed like corrupt politicians corrupted to impress the rival gang and get the majority of the voice for accept or not the renovation of the quarter.
During this time, Oswald (alias the pinguin) begins his ascension to the power.. After treason's failure against his first gang "the falconi", he created a trap where he is the "lifesaver" of Don Maroni to receive from him congrats, recognition, and a place in this second gang.
Oswald under an other name is beeing rich, important, and powerfull, and wants to help Jim Gordon for give him trust and gratitude who spared him to the death in the first episode.

A new drug is coming in the street. It is widespread by a man to homeless in a first time, because it's an easy target. That drug gives a superhuman power and provokes a painful death. In his side, Bruce follow his investigation about his parents murderer, begins to plunge into the mysteries of his company and discovers a whole series of embezzlements. Cobblepot (inside the Pinguin or oswald) is threatened by Maroni who begins to be wary of his ambition. Because during the robbery of a bank, Cobblepot didn't have the appropriate behaviour.
At the same time, Fish Mooney prepares its new asset against her boss Falcone, the opposite gang to the Maroni.
