S1 review - have your say.
So that was the last class for English this semester. I'd like your feedback on the semester. What worked, what didn't work so well,What can be added, what should be taken away, what you enjoyed and how things can be improved for next year's M1 S1. Don't worry about being critical, like you, I learn new things and have new ideas every year. If people don't tell me things don't work I don't always know and being old I don't always think of new, modern ways to make English learning more enjoyable and efficient.
For S2 we'll be working through a TOEIC and one of the marks for the semester will be a mock TOEIC test - you'll also have the chance to take the TOEIC for real in March if you want to. We'll do a lot more talking in class. However everything isn't fixed in stone and I'm happy to change the programme if you have any valid ideas. So here's your chance to let me know what you'd like in the second semester or what topics you'd like to discuss.
over to you...

As for me, I think everything was fine. Except maybe for the oral comprehension exercices, which I didn't find very fun to do (but it's work so maybe it isn't supposed to be fun :p ).
It's great that we did a lot of oral practice in class, I think it's more important than practicing writing. Also, today was really fun! Using more games to practice english could be an idea (only you'd need games requiring the use of some marketing related vocabulary).
Keep up the good work John!

I think it was a good semester and I learn more than my last semesters because we speak more and I think it's better and easier. Moreover, using games like the last course was a good idea, everyone was concerned, everyone must to speak and it was funny! Even if you cheated..
Thank's and see you soon!

Re: S1 review - have your say.
Thank's to you, I'm soon going to like English ! (If my friends and my family heard that, they would not believe me) ! But it's real, I learned more for september that during my licence at the faculty (because my teatcher spoke more French than English). I see that I progress because sometimes I understand your Jokes ! (At the begining of the year : no ! So, I really liked oral presentations, I don't like speaking in front of everybody (I think that you saw) but the many exercise allows me to train for the oral thesis of the next year. I don't feel comfortable, but year is not finished. Moreover, talk on this forum is a good exercise too.
Like Maïa and Ekrem, I think the game like "Taboo" is a very good way to use the vocabulary, It would be good to do others. Your courses are dynamic. and for me, it is necessary to continue your courses similar : a little of writing and a lot of oral, that's what we need.
Thanks for everything and see you next year !

Hello!
I think the semester was very interesting. Thanks to the forum, I improve my english. I search less my words to make sentences. So, I think we have to keep the forum.
I also like lessons because we could speak a lot and I think it's very important because we'll have an oral presentation next year. I'll try not to take a paper for the next oral presentation
I agree with Maya. I think that's videos were not very fun. Maybe, you can can purpose videos about packaging. It could be interesting to see packaging from all over the world.
Thanks you and keep your English touch

It was a very good semester. I really liked to play Taboo in the last class and I think that practice english in a funny way is the best thing to improve our level in english.
To my mind, speak about marketing subject was a good idea because we are directly concerned by that.
So thank you for that and see you in 2017 !

I think that it is good to do "listening comprehension" and "talks" in class. I think we should do more "Taboo" or "Time's up", because it is a funny way to talk and everyone participate.
I didn't like spending 3hours on how we should pronounce words.
In general, I liked what we did in class =], maybe we should add more professional words.

Well... what can I add ? I also liked the fact we were practicing more our oral skills that our writing skills. Moreover it was also interesting to divide the class in two groups and after speak about a subject! It's a great way to share ideas like this forum!
Aurélie i understand the fact you didn't really enjoyed the 3 hours when we learnt how to pronounce words but I think for some it's important as we are practicing a lot our oral skills.

Thanks but I won't feel bad. It's important for me to hear what people think. Like you I realise that I can't make everybody happy all of the time especially when there is such a large difference in the levels and needs of a group. I want to know when I spent a 3 hour session on English though. I thought my classes lasted 2 hours. Maybe it just seemed like 3 hours.
