Series "Vikings"

I'm going to talk about the series "Vikings". This series is composed by 5 seasons of 10 episods (only 9 for the first). I will recap the first one. The series shows the life of a group of vikings led by Ragnar Lothbrok.
The first episod shows a traditionaly fight between the army of vikings and the Baltic peoples. On his return, Ragnar Lothbrok shares his ambition of conquer the lands of the West but his clan leader wants to continue to fight between the East. Ragnar with his brother Rollo and a consructer of boat Floki decide to create an underground navy to conquer the lands of the West.

In the second episod, the underground navy leaves the lands of vikings to conquer the West. After a long crossing, the navy find the lands of the West and they steal and kill a rich community of Christian monks, only some of them stay alive to become slaves.

Yes, the fifth season wich has started the last week, I'm excited to discover how the village will organize itself...

In the two following episods, the group of Ragnar come back in the lands of Vikings with a large booty. Jarl Haraldson, the chief, decides that each warrior must choose only one piece of the booty for this illegal crossing. Ragnar decides to conserv a slave. Athelstan, the slave will give lot of advices for a next trip. Quickly, a new trip gave by the Jarl Haraldson at the group of Ragnar.They will come back with a booty still important.

Very good choice !

At the beggining of the episode 5, Jarl Haraldson launch an attack against Ragnar because Jarl Haraldson dislikes the power and the notoriety increasing of Ragnar. Lot of Ragnar's friends die. Ragnar and his family cope but Ragnar is greviously injured. They take refuge in the house oh his friend floki away the village. Ragnar is furious and want get over with Jarl Haraldson. A death struggle is accepted by Jarl...

Nice choice, the 5th season has just beging ! I'll talk about the second season.
The first episode, it's the brother war. Jarl Borg furious against ragnar goes up a coalition with Rollo, jealous of his brother, and helped by a few warlords. They make war on Ragnar to decide who will be the head of the new West expedition. Victorious, he returned to Kattegat and take Rollo prisoner. Ragnar takes a new wife, a Princess of Norway. Lagertha leaves the home of Ragnar with Born. In the second episod we see the vikings invasion, Ragnar leaves his land to the head of the vikings with King Horik and invades lands in Wessex. During the fight, Athelstan, a Christian monk servant of Ragnar, saves the life of his master. Ragnar now considers him as a friend. Rollo punished, does not contribute to the expedition.

In the third episod we see vikings continue their way in the Wessex and arrive in front of a village, Atelstan their conduit to the Treasury in the Church. The vikings want to continue their way, but Ragnar wants to negotiate a peace against the installation of a colony. For him, the real wealth of this land is its cultivable land and the colony could ensure to survive. Ragnar meets the emissary of Ecberg, King of Wessex. Kattegat invaded by the Jarl Borg and Rollo flees to put the ragnar’s family in shelter. As for Lagertha, she is forced to undergo her new monstrous husband.

In the two following episods, Jarl Borg is proclaimed master of Kattegat. In Wessex, Ragnar invited by Ecberg, is negotiating a Treaty allowing to establish a colony to cultivate lands for peace. Home from his visit, he learns what happened to Kattegat and he immediately leaves Wessex. Once in Kattegat, he meets his new son and prepares to return his land. Lagertha comes to support. Ragnar beats Borg and retrieves his lands. Lagertha decides to return to her husband against the will of Ragnar. She leaves Born to his father
Meanwhile in Wessex, Ecberg kills all the vikings and takes Athelstan under his wing.
through Athelstan, Ecberg learn the culture of the Vikings.

In the episod 6, Horik, missing troups, offers Ragnar to invite the Jarl Borg for the next expedition. Rollo goes to meet of Borg and invited him to the Kattegat.
Ragnar took advantage of his presence to capture him. When to Lagertha, she is badly treated by her husband that led her to kill him in a banquet.
In Wessex, Ecberg wishes to appropriate the knowledge of the Roman Empire hidden in manuscripts.

In the 7th episod, Horik loses his confidence following the declaration of the decapitation of Borg in public. Ragnar continues his preparation for a new expedition, as he learns the coming of a new Jarl as a wing. It's Lagertha. On the other side, Ecberg joins forces with Northumbria, by marrying his son to the Princess of Northumbria.

in the episod 8, Ragnar has a new son but the latter is boneless. For Ragnar, it must get rid of, but "God save him." It will be called Ivar the boneless.
He returned to Wessex find his friend from Athelstan but he learns, by the son of Ecber, that the latter was with them but the Nothumbrie King had decimated his companions remain in Wessex.

In the two folling episod, episode 9 and 10,King Horik wants to revenge for Ecberg and led his men and ragnar’s men to defeat the English alliance. He signed an agreement to attack Northumbria against part of a non-aggression with ecberg. Athelstan returns with Ragnar in Kattegat. King Horik seeks to take the place of Ragnar and don't hesitate not to use relatives of ragnar to achieve his ends. Floki, Lagertha and Rollo are the first targets. At Kettegat, These make Horik believe that they are with him but do not betray ragnar. Ragnar kills Horik and his family but spares his eldest son.
