Discover some new tunes

Hi everybody,

As you know it, i am a big fan of electronic music (particulary techno and house music) !
But i also like different type of music.

So if you are interested to discover my musical univers and want to discover some new tunes, i will share every week on this topic music that i just discovered or artist i like
We can also speak together about subject that correspond to the univers of the music

For the first week i want present you an artist that i love !
His name is Dwayne Jensen

I am sure that for you dwayne Jensen means nothing, but he is one of the pioneer of the detroit house (a gender of electronic music who let the House music develop itself all around the world).
Dwayne is a musician respect all around the world particulary in the world of the techno and house music, but he was also reputed as agreat jazz musician.

Dwayne died in may 2018 at , in his city detroit few hours after play a last set in a music festival. What a great ending for him

It's really funny that he is a jazz musican and the pioneer of the detroit house. Very interesting and we can hear it on the single that you share ! I thought it would be super "agressive" but not at all, it's super fluid !

It's not too surprising because electronic music is a mix between a lot of different music gender, particularly jazz and disco music

No Yva, electronic music is not necessarily violent or agressive, as you can listen here. Different kind of techno or house music exist, violent but also smooth

You don't have to be shock Yva He died because he was too old

This was "electronic" music when I was young.

And congrats again for your performance at the showcase it was really great, we can see that it is a real passion for you! As you may know, I'm not really into techno and house music... Not beacuse i find it boring or whatever but I just prefer music when people actually sing. I am very sensitive when I hear great vocal performances, I really think that it is the association of both great voices (and lyrics) and great sounds that makes music so special (but it is just my opinion aha). For example what do you think about Freddy Mercury's incredible live performances with the group Queen? I think that his vocal implication during his performances was one of the things that made the group so special.

I love electronic music but i like great singer too. For me Freddy mercury was one of the greatest singer of the history of music ! i really like his work and the man he was. He fight to assumed his personality and his desires. i often listen the Queen's songs

This week i want to speak about an artist who have a special place in my heart
This artist is name Jamie XX

I start to listen jamie XX when he was a membre of the group The XX, a group of music who have their own gender of music. They mix pop, rock, and electronic music. They create really famous song together, and i am sure that a great majority of people here have ever heard one of their song but don't know them

For example, it is the most famous song of The XX. You can hear it in a lot of movie or series :



Jamie XX was the electronic part of the group, and decide to begin his solo career just after the sucess of The XX.
I like his music because he has a lot of influence, pop, rap, rock and different gender of electronic music. His first album "in colour" is for me one of the best music album in my opinion. His music is not reserved for the people who love electronic music, it can speak to all the lovers of great music. I think you really have to listen this album !!

So i share my favorite song of Jamie XX, a great ambient song who will take you on fabulous trip ! The beginning of the song is really strange but it evolved during the song and after a few minutes you will just want to put your hands up and travel

I really love the XX but I didn't knew about Jamie XX. I have to say that the begining of the song is a little bit weird but then it comes better and I enjoyed it a lot. It is amazing the way the song elvolves all along !! you are right, it is like a Journey aha.

Thank you Eudes for making me discover this sound. I'll admit that I'm not a big fan of the beginning, but the more the sound evolves the more I find it cool

You right girls, the beginning of this song is really weird. We just hear some percussions, it seems like factory songs
But when the bass arrive and after the high synthesizer the song change totally ! it 2 different music between the beginning and the end of the song

Have you ever listened to the Flower Kings? They've been around for decades! and they mix rock spacey melodies which take me on journeys.

Here's a 25minute track that I love:

It's very repetitive at fisrt but it graduates slowly. The sample is very well choosed. The music video is also doing a great job to help us visualize. I am typing as i am listening and i am staggered by the 2:59-end segment. That high note adds more deepness to the ambient feeling. This is the type of music i would listen when i reaaaaly have nothing to do. I need to be really chill to listen to it. This king of music is not relaxing me (some ambient does a assure you! ) but it's still a nice track from Jamie XX, the real OG.

Yes sure john, the beat is aggressive at the begining, particulary for an ambiant song (which is one of the most calm music gender). But the thing that is interesting is that the melodic synth arrive slowly and become higher than the beat to change the song as an harmonious song even if the beat continue

I never listened to the flower Kings but i will try it I have very happy to seethat you understand me when i say that a music take me on a trip, because a lot of people think i take drugs or something like that when i say that

Today I want to share a song from a German band singing about Russia with beautiful clothes of Power Rangers.



Eudes, we have to know all the choregraphy, the lyrics and find 3 partners to create the same band.

But it is not too late to do my return and post the music i discovered recently



Last week i discovered the artist Skin on Skin
He is a young australian electronic artist and this song takes place on his first project names "SCDD009" on the label STEEL CITY DANCE DISCS, one of my favorite music label.

I think Skin on Skin is, in my opinion, a great artist for this label, because STEEL CITY DANCE DISCS promote alternative music and the creativity. Skin on Skin create the perfect mix between rap and house, Bass music and Ghetto house
It is really interesting to hear this new kind of music, and it can be play during a house dj set and also a techno dj set.
