Classes 28/11, 5/12, 12/12 and 19/12
Hi
For the classes of 28/11, 5/12 and 12/12 we are going to separate into Kids and packaging.
For the Kids class we will work on language and ideas to help for the speed defence (and of course English in general). Your homework for the first class (though we may not use it until the second class) is to find an interesting and relevant graph/table like those you are going to talk about from the NPD, print it and bring it to class having thought about a number of questions which you could ask your colleagues about it.
For the packaging group we are going to continue to work on leading in English and combine this with presentations. You must form a group of 3 (with 1 group of 4), your team must then think of a packaging linked subject and create a 15 - 20 minute presentation for the group and also an in class follow up activity lasting 15-20 minutes. The in class activity should be linked to the presentation with the aim of helping the group to understand your topic and checking that they understood your presentation (so a Q&A or a quiz or a quick game etc...). You must also provide a vocabulary list for the group (if you want me to do photocopies send me an email attaching the work at least the day before the class). These presentations will start on 28/11 with 2 groups during each session. You need to reply in this thread with the 3 members of your group, a theme and the date you wish to present. First to reply get first choice. Two groups will need to be prepared for NEXT THURSDAY 28/11.
If you can help arrange it, the 19/12 we will move our class forward to lunchtime and eat together in the CEPE. What time do your classes finish that morning? Between us we need to organize a sharing of food - starter, main, dessert - that we can eat in the CEPE. So each person will need to decide whether they are bringing a starter or drink (non-alcoholic) or main or dessert and we need to make sure there is a balance to it. If everyone brings drinks that would be a problem. If we can't arrange it then I'll run classes as usual in the afternoon.

Hello John,
The group will be Manon, Diana, and Amelie.
We would like to do it on the 5th of December (but we need to check that day with Olivier because we might have to go to Cognac that afternoon for the results of the VSpack contest).
Our subject will be: The steps to create a packaging from A to Z

Re: Classes 28/11, 5/12, 12/12 and 19/12
So I contacted Olivier today and he confirmed that there is no Pack English class on 5/12. He had forgotten to let me know!
Can those two groups do their presentation for next week instead?
I'll have to reschedule another week for the 3rd pair of presentations.
It seems that Child's products DO have a class on the 5/12. My only class of the day.

Hi !
So how do we proceed if the price of the 5th is deleted ? Can we have three groups pass through the different slots ?
If ever, with Malek and Sophie we would also like to go on December 12 and for the subject, we will communicate it once we have validated it.
Good evening John

Re: Classes 28/11, 5/12, 12/12 and 19/12
PACK students!
This semester is about leading and making decisions.
I put you in a complicated position where you had to form groups and then choose a slot to lead the group with the first two groups having to be ready within a week. This was further complicated by the late news that one of the weeks had been postponed without my knowledge (though maybe some of you already knew).
The work itself isn't too onerous - 3 or 4 people needing to make a 15 minute presentation related to their subject with a class follow up activity of about 20 mins (again organised by 3 or 4 students).
As of today I have no groups who have accepted to lead the class this Thursday. While this isn't surprising I hope that you realise in the working world you will be expected to meet short deadlines and make quick adjustments to your plans on a regular basis.
One enterprising student has sent me a suggestion regarding the scheduling. It showed good initiative and decision making (and if everyone agreed good leadership).
it is as follows:
- 28/11 : Sophie, Malek and Mëghane — Victor, Caroline and Marina
- 5/12 : 3 hours lecture with the KIDS students
- 12/12 : 3 hours lecture with the PACK students
Léa, Marina and Isaure
Manon, Diana and Amélie
Farah, Hela, Selma and Iman
Clara, Clarance and Noémie
- 19/12 : Pauline F, Pauline M and Maëlle
So my question is are the two groups for 28/11 prepared for this or am I preparing a different class for the 28/11 and then re-arranging the new year classes?
Again I'll wait to see what your decision is.

John,
Sorry to put u in this uncomfortable situation due to a lack of understanding/organization on the part of our group.
For our presentation, the group and I will try to do what is necessary to prepare something decent for Thursday 28.
We'll try to do our best.
Thx u again for the efforts u're making,
Meghane

Re: Classes 28/11, 5/12, 12/12 and 19/12
Hi Everyone (well probably not everyone )
If I understood correctly last week, those wonderful students in Kid's products have organzied the in CEPE meal for next week. Can someone confirm this so that I know I've not got to organize two class sessions for Thursday afternoon.
Can someone tell me what I need to bring? soft drink? Fruit? disposable plates and cutlery?
In other news can I just congratulate the pack group for their presentations last week. I didn't have time to speak to you all but they were all very good and participation in the long session was excellent. thank you.
Finally after our meal next week pack have a final presentation to do/watch and I will bring a couple of versions of "werewolf" for the kids group to use for their after meal activity.
see you on Thursday
John

Re: Classes 28/11, 5/12, 12/12 and 19/12
Hello hello John ,
To answer u, apparently yes there will be a buffet. Some of the students in the pack will participate (from what I understand).
I am sending u attached the google drive that we use to know who will bring back what (u can add yourself if u wish).
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11uoVeu-EueeZ4SSwGN19d0O-8CNUmYa7VAefzOZ0xPs/edit#gid=0
For the course, yes, the packs will pass the remaining oral from 2pm it seems to me, and I don't know if the children are aware of this "werewolf" but I will pass on the message (if they don't come here).
A very good Sunday and a good start to the week to u,
See u Thursday

Hi John! It's been a while XD
I can see that Meghan already answered your question. I think it would be great if you bring some drinks because we're a lot bringing food and if I remember well I think Emeline is the only one to bring drinks and, of course, it will be difficult to buy enough drink for all of us being just one person.

Re: Classes 28/11, 5/12, 12/12 and 19/12
Thanks for the replies girls and good job with the organistation. I see that 23 people have signed up so far. Could someone diplomatically check if the others have seen the post and the google drive. I'll keep my eye on the list and bring a couple of cartons of juice if no-one else does.
Do you have plates and cutlery at the CEPE? Let me know if not and I'll go to the supermarket for some disposable (climate change outcast) plates and plastic cutlery.
Regarding games - if you think the meal will last until 1:30 pm then you don't need anything else you will be free. I thought that I'd bring something in case the meal finished by 1pm. Packaging know that they have a short session after the meal for our final presentation.
