We have chosen as subject: video games. We want to know if you play games and with the development of platforms like Twitch, do you think e-sport is the future?
Let us know your experiences and your relationship with video games.

I haven’t good knowledge about videogame because I never really play. When I arrive in CEPE I surprised because lot of student want work in videogame and lot of girls. Moreover, a great number of girls regularly play at different videogame. However, I thought that boys play more than girls but it’s not the true in this classes.
Currently there are lot of platform online and people can play with his friend. During containment videogame are the only means of socialisation for young people. So videogame can have a good aspect in this period. We see more and more e-sport competition and professional team. Player have training session like other sports. Actually, e-sport is a good means because people can play at distance. I think it’s possible to see a development of e-sport over the next few years.

Video games...they're not my great friends. Not because I don't like them but mainly because I don't play them. But it's true that with the confinement, the development of consoles and the multitude of games available they take an important place in some people's lives.
More seriously, the last time I played a video game was on the Wii this weekend with friends. Admit it, there's nothing better than a Mario Kart at 6am with your friends ahahah. Actually, the Wii is the only console I've ever had and played with. I don't have a special interest in this kind of games.
As for e-sport, I don't know at all. The future is a big word, but already today a lot of people are developing like the Nintendo Switch to do their sports at home. Honestly I don't think it's the future to play or do your sport behind a screen. Ok, we can play online but social links, the presence of others is something that I think cannot be replaced.

Video games aren't my univers. Probably because I'm bad... When I was young I had a Nintendo DS, a xbox and a Wii. I had a little talent, but that is the good old time. Atfer that the only games are mobiles games, not really reals videos games, you are probably agree with me. I have never use Twitch. About e-sport, I think is more and more in the trend. But I think isn't THE future.

I don't really fan of video games exept Mario, Animal Crossing on Wii or DS. I haven't played these consoles in years.
For confinement, many people played on Switch in particular Animal Crossing and it's true that I fell like playing it. I haven't Switch but my friend, she does. When I go to her house, I play with her at Mario Kart.

For e-sport subject, I think that it's a good fun way of doing sport for exemple with Just Dance. But I don't think that e-sport will replace footing or fitness. After this pandemic, people need to see other people and to get out.

Helloooo,

Same of the other, I don't really play video games but I like to play when I can or when Florian wants to play with me (but I'm bad player...). When I was young I played with my Nintendo DS or with my Wii but I think it's old-fashioned now ahah. I'm overwhelmed by all the games and consoles that come out, it's going too fast for me as it's an area I don't know much about. My 13 year old sister have a Switch and when I see her playing I'm a bit lost because she knows a lot of things! But I would like to have a Switch, it's very cool to play with friends.

About e-sport subject I think this is the future because we know there are more and more people who play videogames and this is a turning point since many years. People want to confront each other, make live on Twitch and YouTube videos. So I think in the next few years, the players will be more present in competition. We also know that some of players do this for a living, it's something that will become part of the mentality and be seen as a sport.

Hello,

Video games... A subject that interests me because since childhood I grew up with. The passion for video games comes from my uncle and my brothers. When I was 10 years old, I often went to my uncle's. That's when it all started because I often played video games at his house.

I've had quite a few consoles since I was little. I don't know exactly how many but I'd say about ten with the Game Boy Color, Nintendo 64, different DS, the Wii, Playstation 2 and 3, Xbox One or the last one that I have had the Switch.

During the confinement I got the last Animal Crossing on Switch. It allowed me to think about something else because there wasn't much to do.

I'm not a big fan of solo games, I prefer online games. That's why we often get together with my friends to play multiplayer games like Apex Legends, Rocket League and many others.

Nowadays many people broadcast their content on the Twitch platform. It lists different themes such as video games, chatting or music. I sometimes watch a few streams, mainly of video games. I don't think that electronic sport is as beneficial as outdoor sport. We don't have the same contact when we are online or outdoors. But for me e-sport is the future of sport. In recent years, e-sport has been growing and making great strides. Many tournaments are held around different video games. I can mention different video game tournaments such as on Counter Strike, Fortnite, Rocket League, League of Legends... In fact, there are tournaments on almost every big online game.

I could go on for hours about video games but I'll stop here, it's starting to do a lot...

About video games, I don't play them much. When I was little I had a nintendo that I used to share with my brother (because it's expensive) but he broke it... Afterwards we got a Wii, and I noticed that I prefer to play video games but with someone. I find it more fun to play with someone and I don't get bored as quickly. But I've never played on a PC and I'm not interested in Twitch yet but I might get into it.

About e-sport, I think it can be fun for a while especially for some sports like yoga but I don't think ,and I hope, it will replace sport in real life because after this pandemic I think it's important to socialize again and I think sport is a good method.

Growing up I loved playing video games, I had PlayStation 2 and Wii at the time, I remember having a handful of games and I was always determined to finish all the missions; I never reached a pro-level gamer but it was really fun. However, I don’t play video games anymore therefore I wouldn’t say that I’m any kind of gamer anymore; I only play when it's with someone, like whenever I go to Egypt, sometimes my brother makes me play with him, on his precious Xbox, so he can enjoy beating someone easily.

Video games are much criticised today because young people spend too much time behind a screen. So I'm going to talk about children playing video games.

Whether it's with a tablet, a smartphone or a console, I think it's important for parents to be careful about how much time they spend playing. I know, it sounds like "old talk", but it's scientifically proven: video games can have an impact on children's sleep and behaviour. A lot of games highlight war and violence and I don't think that's good.

Nevertheless, controlled by parents, video games can be a fun activity. It can be a moment of sharing between parents and their children. Moreover, video games can be a moment of escape, the child immerses himself in an imaginary world and escapes from his hard life which is going to school all week long Razz

I grew up at a time before personal computers and games consoles and as a child I loved nothing more than playing on the first arcade machines - Space invaders, Pacman, galaxians, defender etc... When personal computers began I bought them all starting with a sinclair model which only had 1k of memory - really! When consoles came out I got them for my children playstation mostly but I also bought them handheld nintendos and of course the Wii which was a very different type of games playing.

I still play computer games when I have the time but now I'm into strategy games rather than shoot'em ups.

As for E-sport I think of this more as the professional arm of games playing, teams playing league of legends, Fifa or fortnite for example rather than people doing yoga or cycling in their houses and as such I'm sure it will become bigger and bigger in the future and involve a lot of money. It is an important marketing tool for the sales of video games.

As an anecdote I still remember the buzz of playing arcade games in rooms full of machines with a mass of people around the machine watching. And the thrill of coming back a few days later to see that my name was still the "hi-score" on the game. Most of my street cred came from that in those days as did blisters on my palms between my thumb and first finger.
