Re: Gironde fires
At the moment the forest fires are all the time. The firemen are called all the time for this kind of problem, every week they are at least once on a fire.
These fires are a real problem because they burn the forest and therefore promote deforestation which is already a big problem for our planet. We can ask ourselves why there are fires, and well it is often because of the man when he throws his cigarette butt in dry grass with the heat it takes fire. But the most serious is the people who set fire to the forest, they have fun to burn our planet and unfortunately there are more and more, they are called pyromaniacs.

Re: Gironde fires
We have seen that at the moment the Gironde fires have resumed, already this summer there had been many, which had damaged the coastline of the New Aquitaine region. Last week the fire started in Saumos, and spread to the region. Since yesterday, a new fire has spread on the Arcachon basin, but this time the start is in the Arès area. It would have already taken more than 70 hectares and it is not finished, hoping that the firemen can stop it as soon as possible. We can thank them because it is not an easy job, they put their lives in danger to be able to save here a heritage but also the lives of the inhabitants of the neighbouring villages.

Re: Gironde fires
On September 18th, the firemen have immediatly deployed their means to attack the fire from the air. 6 planes have been mobilized along with 15 vehicles to put a stop to the fire near from the habitations. The fire has been declared on the afternoon in Ares (Gironde). The forest is located at the average of 100 meters from the inhabited area. the area has been evacuated for precaution.

Re: Gironde fires
This summer fires in France and all in the world were terrible. It's the first time that's there was as much as this summer. It one of the repercussion of the global warming but also of criminal.
There is some accident like a tractor wich catchs fire but when you have 4 fires which starts exactly at the same times in differents places, it's difficult to thinks that there isn't an organisation. I hope they will be arrested cause fire is a calamity for earth, destructs houses and family.

Re: Gironde fires
This weekend was again marked by fires in Gironde. Indeed, a fire broke out this Sunday, September 18, around 1:30 p.m. in Arès. This fire started at the level of the old municipal landfill, behind the craft zone. According to some information, more than a hundred hectares were burned and more than 300 people were evacuated, although the exact number is not known. For this operation, more than three hundred firefighters, two canadairs, a Dash and two helicopters were mobilized to try to contain this fire. Luckily, this fire managed to be contained by the firefighters.

Re: Gironde fires
This summer many fires affected the France, especially the Gironde wich suffered enormously from these fires. Indeed many fires have done very significant damage. The fire that affected the town of la Teste de Buch and its surroundings has reduced to pieces many houses and campsites ( in particular the Flots Bleus campsite from the cult film Camping). The forest surrounding the Dune of the Pilat also suffered enormously. Firefighters have been working tirelessly since this summer and we can be proud and grateful to them. Most of these fires are of criminal origin, I do not understand how these people can set fire voluntarily and thus destroy all nature and weaken our planet.

Re: Gironde fires
Fire in Gironde is a very sensitive subject because living in the Landes, fire is one of the subjects where we hear about it the most.lighting a fire voluntarily and burning thousands of hectares and something I don't understand, it's not human to do that.In addition, it destroys houses, kills animals and it is simply horrible.

Re: Gironde fires
This summer was a very very dry summer, the driest for 57 years. The risk of fire was therefore very high and fresh water increasingly scarce. Some rivers were dry. Certain restrictions have therefore been put in place: water restrictions (bans on filling your swimming pool), fireworks bans (the July 14 fireworks have been either canceled or postponed), bans on campfires . Many fires have taken place all over the world, usually caused by discarded cigarette butts or sometimes arsonists. Tens of thousands of hectares of forest have gone up in smoke in france, many inhabitants have had to leave their homes because of this

Gironde Fires
This summer, the Gironde was hit like never before by the fires. The fires lasted one month and two days burning over 28,000 hectares but fortunately did not cause any casualties. According to the mayor of the municipality of the start of fires, the start of fire was caused by electrical problems of a vehicle at the edge of the forest. From July 23 to August 9, the fire was interrupted by firefighters but it resumed from August 9 to August 14.
7 countries including Germany, Sweden, Romania, Poland, Austria, Greece and Italy sent reinforcements of personnel and equipment.

Re: Gironde fires
Today I read an article which captived me. This article tells us about the fire's news in Gironde.
Indeed, strong overnight winds worsened the blaze but the 900 or so firefighters on hand have been able to keep property damage to a minimum.
A wildfire in the department has now burned through over 3,600 hectares of forest "as strong winds overnight exacerbated the spread of flames".
"In total, over 1,200 people have been evacuated from their homes since the fires first broke out on Monday afternoon, the majority from the villages of Saumos and Sainte-Hélène, west of Bordeaux."
Around 920 firefighters have been deployed to contain the flames.
Let's hope it stops forever...

Re: Gironde fires
Burner, arsonist, arsonist, rioter... These are the main factors of the fires that have taken place in recent months. All it took was a criminal act for them to set fire to and destroy thousands of hectares in their path, leaving families without shelter and animals without nests. The Earth called blue earth will not be failing us? The human so naive and violent would it not be destroying our planet without hesitation?
While some make thousands of efforts to change things and help the world heal, others annihilate all these efforts until they make humanity hesitate and then give up all hope of life in 100 years.
The Man beat an empire that he is slowly destroying.

Fire in Gironde
During the hottest summer ever recorded in Europe, the Gironde experienced historic fires in July and August 2022, with the giant fires of Landiras and La Teste de Buch.At first, we think that this was only to the drought and the current global warming. However, it turned out over the summer that cigarette butts would have started these fires. But, I still think that our carbon footprint is the main cause because it didn't just happen in France. The lungs of humanity in particular have suffered enormously.

Re: Gironde fires
The forest fires of 2022 in Gironde are several fires that started, for the first ones, during this hottest summer ever recorded in years, on July 12, 2022 in the Landes forest.
The department has experienced limited rainfall since August 2021, which has caused the forest to dry out and, combined with a heat wave, drought and high winds, has made the area prone to forest fires.
The July fires caused the evacuation of 36,750 residents and ravaged 20,800 hectares of pine forest. On August 9, a new fire caused the destruction of new hectares. On Monday 12 September a new fire broke out near Saumos and again on 18 September.
The totality of the fires burned more than 32 000 hectares of the Landes de Gascogne massif, hundreds of people evacuated and firemen deployed...

Re: Gironde fires
Fires have always been a threat to our forests. This summer many fires are unleashed it is common that there is fire in the summer and today, with the climate change underway, the risk worsens perhaps a little more. But this year the majority of these disasters are man-made. For example, on August 9, with the resumption of the gigantic fire in Landiras (Gironde), which had started in July.
