Our training in the CLIS
Hy,
Today i will talk about our training in the CLIS of Mario-Roustan with Léa B. We have 9 children who are between 6 and 12 years old. So they don't have the same physical and mental capacities. Additionnal, they have mental disabled. So we can't talk with their as if they were "normal". Some of them don't speak or just a little bit, and mainly we don't know thier problems...
With this class we work dance and circus. The first time we work with them, we were a little bit lost because in one hour, we can't learn more than one step... Now, we try to be severally to learn more and more since it's very important for them. On the one hand because at the end of the training we have to make a show, and on the other hand because with mental and physical disabled, we have to stimulmate their capacities.

I used to work with young disabled children. It's very important to simplify the rules but also your instructions and then let them practice a lot. You must set tasks that they can succeed in as their success will inspire the next step.
Your job is to break the skills down into very small details for them.
It's hard but very satisfying.
