If you were buying a car would the VW situation change your decision to buy a VW?
Re: VW poll question
I don’t want to do something concerning what I think of this trouble cause of course it’s a very bad news for the brandawareness , and the brand image but I prefere write concerning, someting I saw in a news paper 2 weeks ago. And it’s allows to lean on the question that Mr Cox ask :
Yes - I would no longer buy a VW
No - I'd still buy a VW 89%
(89% answered « i’d still buy a VW »)
And it’s allows also to see the difference beetween english and French People.
Did you know that Nine out of 10 Volkswagen drivers in the UK who may be caught up in the emissions scandal think they should get compensation.
I saw yesterday that a survey of over 2,000 motorists who own a VW diesel built between 2008-15 showed that 90% think they should get compensation. (LOL)
YES YES YES !! i know english people are, still complaining. –«
The German car-maker has not confirmed whether owners of cars fitted with the defeat device software used to cheat environmental tests in the US will be awarded a payout.
Around 1.2million British-owned cars are affected with recalls of cars due to start in the first quarter of next year for remedial work .
Some 96% cited fuel efficiency as an important factor when they bought their car, while 90% said the environmental impact was a key consideration. (LYING)
As Mr Cox said, English people seems attracted by money so they take advantage of the German unfortunately to enrich themselves muahaha.

Re: VW poll question
I will still for this long-established company, as one of the most successful vehicle company in our country, VK still present the quality and reputation of " MADE IN GERMAN". Compare to some Americans Large-engine Car or Japanese or Korean cars. I think i will still stand for this well-know european mark. btw this scandal has no effect to VK in China so why not?

Good question. why not?
Re: VW poll question
Actually, I'm not so interested in these news. Of course, Vk should have respected their obligations for their cars to be less polluting. However it didn't surprise me that VK has tampered with motor vehicles. They're going to get a huge fine, they will comply with the laws and that's it. They wanted to play, they lost.
Currently, there are unfortunately worse things. We could decide not to buy a VK anymore. In this case, we should also stop buying a lot of clothes because they come from Bangladesh and we all know those factories use child labour, and the workers take many risks by making those clothes because their factory want to reduce their costs.
We have to punish companies that don't comply with the laws, but there are so many abuses that we should stop buying too many things if we wanted to be logical

Re: VW poll question
Generally I can only agree. If we stopped buying VW cars just because there has been this scandal, it would be kind of cynical regarding worse problems around the world. And still - yes, it has been a fraud, yes our environment is precious - the actual emissions are quite possibly not that bad. Of course far from what they told, but it still does not harm the environment as much as for example still relying on coal energy. Or using nuclear powerplants without knowing what to do with their remainings.
So if someone really stopped buying a VW because of this, they would also have to consider the environmental damage their energy costs.
And I don't think that a decrease in sales will be the major problem for VW. The lawsuits which are coming will be the biggest problem they will have to deal with.

Re: VW poll question
Just wanted to say that I think it's a shame that they cheated. I'm disapointed because they had a so good image and looked realy like they didn't need to cheat to be one of the best and to prduce good quality. And i'm very surprised and respectful to this brand because even after what happend, people still think it's a good brand and like it and would still buy a car frolm them. It realy shows how strong they are.
