Judo at PJC (Perigny)
Hi !
I'm Elouan, I practice Judo since 10 years and I'm brown-belt. This January marks the beginning of the competition. The last week-end (Saturday 17th), the departmental championship (firts division) takes place in the departmental Dojo in Rochefort. I'm in the -73kg weight category (Junior). Last season I was a -66kg but thanks to STAPS (or because...), I get some more muscles and I change of weight category... This was a real change for me, because the opponent are not the same and they are much stronger in -73kg. So I fought this week-end, but I loose the both randoris (or fights) I did. I don't considerer this as a defeat, it will help me to get stronger in the future. In two weeks there is the second division Championship, I hope I'll win at least one randori !
But this year is a little bit hard for me. I can practise Judo only one time per weeks, the Friday when I'm home, and this is a oriented technic lesson. So I don't have the physic anymore to fight in competition (it's really hard, more than the sport that we did at STAPS : a really tremendous effort is needed on a really short period, and if it doesn't succed, you have to repeat it again).

Re: Judo at PJC (Perigny)
This week-end, more precisely Sunday, a friendly tournament takes places in Surgeres. This is the Judo Club of Surgere which organize this tournament each years, and the club which gets the more points earn a cup. Last year I could go because I didn't have to go to Angoulême during the afternoon (The fights end about 19h, and I can't travel to Angoulême after a competition like this). So I did nothing this Sunday, and this was really annoying. Oh no, I just go to Angoulême during this afternoon, that was soooo great...
And even if I wasn't there, I get some news : my club, with 366 points, earned the cup ! This is the best club of the departement in this tournament.

Hi !
This Saturday an Animation for young Judokas takes places at the Departmental Dojo, in Rochefort. So during all the day i was there to "hold the arbitration table" (I don't know how I can say it in english).
This kind of thing is necessary for a Judoka to get his black belt : this is called "Knowledge of the environment".
In fact, you have to do three thing to get your black belt (but you have to wait one year after the obtaining of your brown belt).
- Pass your Nego-no-kata (a succession of technic you have to learn).
- Pass the day of "Knowledge of the environment" (Hold a stopwatch, count the point of each fighter during a randori to help the referee...).
- Get 100 points during official competitions (The maximum is 10 points per randori).

Well... For the moment... 0
I didn't really enjoy by competitions last year, and this year, even if I'm really motivated, I have got only 1 workout per week (Wednesday when I come back on La Rochelle) and the competitions are really hard.

Re: Judo at PJC (Perigny)
This week-end I did nothing in relation with Judo (St Valentine's Day, so I was... with friends). So I'll talk a bit about "Nage-no-kata", the succession of technic you have to learn and to present to get your black belt.
I did it last year, in May, and I passed it succesfully, with the congratulations of the jury. My partner passed it too.
The goal of Nage-no-kata is to present 3 succesiv series of 3 mouvements :
- The first series is 3 "Te Waza" : mouvement of hands/shoulders;
- The second series is constitued of 3 "Goshi Waza" : mouvement of hip;
- The third one is constitued of 3 "Ashi Waza" : mouvement of feet.
Judo's mouvement are classificated in different categories, depending on the principal part of the body used to do this mouvement.
In fact there're two more series, but we have to present them for the 2nd Dan of the Black-belt.
If you want to see real professionals, look to this video :

Re: Judo at PJC (Perigny)
For this week-end, there isn't any particular event for my age range (I'm a Junior). So I don't really know what to talk about...
The next week, there is training during four days for the young Judoka in my club. It lasts for 8 hours each days (9h - 17h), and I'm supposed to assist my teacher and to learn to the young Judoka a lot of interesting things ! I really like this, but the next week, we still have class (like English...) and we're obligated to go. Don't worry, I like coming in English, but some other class are... boring, and I think "I wish I had been at La Rochelle...".
