Nobel Peace Prize for Colombia's Juan Manuel Santos
Our actual president, Juan Manuel Santos, born in Bogotá into a wealthy family, was working in the negotiation of peace this the FARCS more than 4 years, has won the Nobel Peace Prize 2016.
The reasons?
1. For the efforts he had to finish the longest civil war in the world (50 years) generated death of more than 220 000 Colombians and displacement of approximately six million people
2. To thank 49,98% of Colombians believe in a better future, in freedom, in forgiveness and above all in the peace!
3. To motivated Colombian people to continue in the process of creating peace and a better country for all our kids and victims.
According to The Norwegian Nobel Committee this prize should be seen like a tribute for the “Colombian people who, despite great hardships and abuses, have not given up hope of a just peace”
He have the prize bay not the peace. Remember that people have rejected peace accord with the FARCS the last 2nd October. "What the 'No' side rejected was not the desire for peace, but a specific peace agreement."
After the announcement of the Nobel Committee, different important people have reacted.
On the one hand, the Colombians’ president, Juan Manuel Santos said in his tweeter that these wonderful prize is not for him and his acts but for all the victims of the conflict. The most important prize will be the Peace, and it will be built by all together.
Also the leader of the FARCS, Thimochenko, tweeted to thanks the president, the contribution of Norway, Cuba, Chile and the others countries participated than the process of peace.
Ingrid Betancourt said in an interview that it is very difficult for her forgive and forget all the situation she has lived, the tortures and people who kidnapped her. But she don’t want the same for her son and all Colombian child. It’s necessary to forgive and give a chance to the guerrilleros to start a new live.
The opposition, is not happy with the decision and a lot of critics were launched! But I will not to speak because I don’t matter. Peace, love, forgiveness! That we need all around the world!!
