Week 4 - Harvey Weinstein and sexual harassment in general.

Good evening, everyone.
When we talk about sexual harassment, there are two films cross my mind, one is called“ spotlight” and another is “the hunt”
The first one follows The Boston Globe's "Spotlight" team,and its investigation into cases of widespread and systemic child sex abuse in the Boston area by numerous Roman Catholic priests. Why there is little public attention in this event? I think one is that the victim is ashamed to tell the truth. Secondly, the priest has taken refuge from the church and refused to dispose of the criminal clergy which will continue to be employed. Even if there is a victim to speak, in the face of powerful churches, they tend to be vulnerable, and many cases will be solved privately. Thirdly,even if there is a voice from the victim, it will soon be put under pressure by the ubiquitous church forces. It is also important that the police conspire with the priests, the lawyers and the church, to seal up evidence for the church,The last but not the least, is the silence and connivance of the public. It’s the same case like Harvey Weinstein.
In the second film, Lucas has been charged of sexual abuse of children because of the little girl unintentional lies , even if Lucas is still being investigated stage, everyone in the town is indignant,they use their own way to maintain justice.
I think we can’t succumb to power and we also have to distinguish right from wrong.
