Black Mirror
When I started this series, I found it quite weird, in fact there’s no presentation of the TV show at the beginning. You are directly in the action of the TV show.
Indeed, the first episode begins with a particularly vicious dilemma posed to the British Prime Minister Michael Callow who has to rescue Princess Susannah who was kidnapped.
But what is going to happen? I let you discover it by yourself
What is good about this series ? Is the fact that the episodes have no links between them, so you can watch it in any order you want, there’s no problem.
The purpose of this anthology is to show the dependence of men on everything that has a screen and the consequences of this dependence.
This series really makes me more thoughtful although as I said at the beginning, it’s a little weird ahah

Re: Black Mirror
Yeah i agree this series is weird but there is lot's of greats episodes. It's a psychological series, still current, really interesting and well thought out.

Episode 2 Saison 1 : Fifteen Million Merits
In this episode the characters are living in a futuristic world, where screens are omnipresent.
To earn some money called "Merits", they have to ride a stationary bike to generate power, they can use this money to buy some food, goods, virtual items, etc ...
To escape this virtual world, they can participate to a program named "Hot Shot" (comparable to X Factor in the real life) but in order to participate they have to pay 15 million Merits.
Bing, the main character, propose to his friend Abi, to participate to this program after listening to her singing.
Arrived to the TV program, the judges were impressed by her voice but ...
As I said in my first post, this series make you think about the world that surrounds you

Re: Black Mirror
I love this series so much. Love that you don't understand anything during 3/4 and the last 1/4 you figure out how the episode is a metaphor for the society. Mind blown too many times...

True story ! For many episodes I have to watch many scenes twice to understand them correctly and to see the relation with the real life.

Hmm, well I think i'm relate to the episode 1 saison 3 : Nosedive, where the main actor, Lacie, want to boost her social media score.
Unfortunately we're in a society where we care a lot about the likes on facebook and especially on Instagram. When we have a lot of likes we are happy even if it's just virtual..
And what about you ?

Re: Black Mirror
The episode in which they have some kind of memory card in their eyes, and they record everything they see. It's the same with our phones and computers and the use we have of it, we record everything we see. Or the one with the puppet becoming president (Trump if you read me).

it's about Mr trent who has helped others to date girls (which is ilegal ) and he wants to reduce a penalty by helping police solve the case of Joe and Beth. however, when trent has solved this case ,he was been "free" , but nobody can see him.Corentin Eberle wrote:I don't remember the White Christmas. S01E03 : The Entire History of You
In this episode we follow the story of Liam, a lawyer who lives in the age of the 'grain implant'. Similarly, to how we are living in the generation of the tablets and smart phones with these items now being essential to fit into normal day life. Liam lives in world where almost every single human being has a 'grain' implant behind their ear synced up with an electronic contact lens that records and saves everything they do.
It was by far my favorite episode with its compelling storyline and appealing technology reeling you in.
The technology in this episode is horribly realistic and portrays a future that isn't be too hard to imagine. The entire episode revolves around how this ability, to instantly playback memories over and over again.

Re: Black Mirror
And if your social status on your phone depends on the rating that your entourage gives you ?
So it's what Black Mirror, wants to analyze with the E01S03 : Nosedive
In this episode we follow the story of Lacie, a young woman living in a system of ratings that regulates society (like facebook, instagram or twitter in our life).
Everyone must please others to improve their overall average on a social network and if they have a high score, they can have more privileges like an access to the first class in airplanes or bank loans at the best rates for example.
While the heroine seeks to progress socially, a succession of missteps will take her away from her goal.
So if you want to discover what happens to her, launch the episode and enjoy

S02E02 : White Bear
This episode begins in a mysterious way. In fact we follow a young amnesiac woman who wakes up in an empty apartment. As soon as she leaves, she is chased by a masked man and strangely dressed, under the eyes of a crowd of badges that film the scene with their smartphones.
I think in this episode, Black Mirror wants to attack voyeurism and the spectacular side of justice, public opinion is often taken apart as a judge and executioner in some cases.
