Stranger Things

Stranger Things is an American science fiction-horror television series created, written, directed and co-executive produced by the Duffer Brothers. The first season was released on Netflix on July 15, 2016.

First episode : 4 children are playing a role-playing game. They are 3 to come back home. One of them, Will Blyers, saw something on the road and ran away at home. He disappears with this thing in the workshop. The whole town is looking for him. The 3 other children decided to find him themselves. They meet an other child, who is fleeing maybe an organization, in the forest. She gets psychic power (she killed two men and stopped a blower with her mind). She is marked by a number, eleven, and maybe came from a place called "Energy Department". The episode stopped on this cliffhanger.

Second episode : So, Eleven slept at Mike's home, one of the three kids. As one of them wants to tell her existence to Mike's mother, she slaps the door with her mind. She knows something about Will but she seemed to not be able to speak. She just indicated that he might be kidnapped and Mike continues to hide her in his house. Barbara, Nancy's friend (Nancy is the old sister of Mike), disappears at a party maybe cause of the same thing that make disappeared Mike, while Nancy had sex with another student, Steve. Will's mother gets a call, probably from her son (she thinks it is). Lamps in Will's bedroom light up after the call and rock music sounds.
The wall deforms and she runs away. But the lamps & music light up again, and we only see her enter again in the house.

Third episode : The tension rises slowly in the three axes of telling (I don't speak wilfully about Nancy's part because it's just adolescents' quarrels). First, the sheriff discovers that the plot thickens ; the research centre in energy, near Will's home, hides something. He saw the videos of cameras the night when Will disappeared, but they were false (it isn't raining in the camera like that night). Second, the commando composed of Mike, two his friends and Eleven follow Eleven that might know where Will is. But they just go to Will's house, and Eleven says that she feels him here. Third, the best for the end, the part of Will's mother. His son found her with a lot of a light in Will's bedroom. She buys dozens of Christmas lamps, and Will (she believes that it is) talked to her by lighting up the lamps, and under its, there are letters, to form words. He says he is here (in the house) and the last word is : R-U-N. And a thing come out the wall.

Forth episode : Will(s mother escapes and then comes back in her house, but the cops don't believe her. Nancy sees a man without face in Steve's garden, when she was looking for Barbara. She talks to Will's brother and he believes her because her mom described the same thing. They see it on a picture taken by him at the party.
Will's mother sees his son through the wall, and he seems to be blocked in a dark version of his house.
Eleven finally manages to hear Will on radio with her power. We see some flashbacks of her life in the Hawkins research centre (the same near WIll's house). The director, Dr Branner did experiment with her and her power. It seems that it exists an other dimension which he is looking for and where could be Will.
Will's body is found (dead) ; but the sheriff discovers that it's not him ; it's a body filled with cotton.

Fifth episode : The sheriff infiltrates the Hawkin's laboratory and finds a room filled by a kind of enormous sticky monster which recovers walls; either a gate. Then he gets caught by the staff. He wakes up at home, bugged. He gets closer to Will's mother, because he believes her now.
Mike's commando talks to their teacher about the way to go in the "upside down". With compasses, they search the gate, because it has enough magnetic power to make compasses point to it. They are going in circles, because Eleven uses her power ; she won't return to the laboratory, because she knows where is the gate.
Nancy & Jonathan (Will's brother) are going in the forest to find and kill the thing (they are pretty sure this is a monster). Obviously, they part and Nancy goes alone in a hole between tree's roots and falls in the "upside down" : the same world, like an other dimension but dark, cold and with monsters. She sees the monster while is is eating and then he sees her, opens wide her face : it is a rosette of mouths with fangs. (END OF THE EPISODE, on this cliffhanger).

Sixth & seventh chapters (you will notice I'm now talking about chapters and not of episodes ; because I just see that it is writing "chapter", and I don't care a lot about the name of the chapters) : they are shorter than the others and they make the transition for the final chapter. To sum up, the bad men (Hawkin's laboratory with Dr Brenner) know that the kids hide Eleven. They flee and the sheriff, Will's mother, Jonathan and Nancy come to help them. The sheriff & Will's mother met Jonathan & Nancy because Jonathan fought with Steve (he thinks that Nancy is cheating with Jonathan) and get caught by the police.
So, this gleefully group gathers information. The sheriff and Will's mother learn that Eleven is the daughter of a woman, Terry Yves, that fought against government because they take her baby saying that it was a miscarriage. She is now brain-dead. Then, Eleven tells that she could find Will & Barbara in the upside down by being in the same state when she opened the gate, in the laboratory (we saw it in a flashback). They make the experiment : she floats on the water (they added exactly 680 kilos of salt in an inflatable swimming pool), the bandaged eyes. She could see the "upside down" : Barbara is dead but no one cares (just Nancy a few seconds) and Will is alive, hidden in a hut made by himself next his house.
It ties everything in the end of the seventh chapter : the sheriff and Will's mother get caught trying to go to the hut of Will to find him ; and Jonathan & Nancy are going to kill the monster.

Last chapter : The sheriff struck a deal with Hawkins laboratory's officer. He gives the location of Eleven, without harming Mike and his two friends who are with her. In exchange, they let him and Will's mother go into the portal, direct to the 'upside down'. Meanwhile, Nancy & Jonathan are planning their trap in Jonathan's house, based on bear trap, fire, gun & studded baseball bat. They cut a bit their hand to draw the monster. Just before it comes, Steve knocks and enters in the house to apologize. They fight the monster, which flees in the upside down.
The soldiers of the laboratory of Hawkins come to take back Eleven ; she kills the half of the soldier with her power. So, the monster is attracted by the blood. Eleven is exhausted, almost unconscious but she saves the three boys, thanks to THE POWER OF LOVE (Mike kissed her a few minutes before). She disappears with the monster. Meanwhile, the sheriff and Will's mother find Will alive (almost dead).
This is an happy end, Steve and Nancy get back together, and the four friends (Mike, Lucas, Dustin & Will) win their role playing game by killing the boss.
And this is on the last scene that we see that this a kind of horror serial : the night of Christmas, just before eating, Will goes to the bathroom. Then, he spits a kind of slug, most likely from the upside down, which disappears in the sink.
