What is being developed at the moment that you find interesting? What would you like to see in the next few years? Will flying cars dominate our skyline? Will Robots do our menial jobs? Is teleportation a possibility? Do you think we'll be chipped and remove the need for telephones and computers? What about Space flight?

Hello,
For the future technology, my first reaction is a man — Elon Musk, and his companies.
His starts-up companies include: Tesla, SpaceX, PayPal, Scolarcity, Hyperloop and zip2. Areas covered by his companies include: Electric cars, Space Technology, Solar energy, satellites, Fast track traffic,Extraterrestrial colonization and so on.
He used ten years, to make 4 cars: Model S, Model X, Model 3 and Roadster; 4 rockets: Flacon 1, Flacon 9, Flacon Heavy and Dragon.
Each of his projets is changing the world that we live.
For me, Elon Musk = Iron Man
I am so excited for his plans and his ideals
No matter will success or not finally, at least he let me see the human’s hope.

Future technology
Hello, everyone. This week, we talk about the technology. I am interested in driverless car. I hope in the future driverless car can be dominant in the world. Because I have struggled to get my driver’s license, it was such a hard process and a painful memory. In China, generally, the driving coaches are not patient at all, when you make some mistakes, they will yell at you and speak so many dirty words, it makes you feel so bad. What’s more, they treat you like an idiot, you can easily be angry. Of course, you can cruse them, but after that you still need to suffer their bad language until you get your license. Therefore, I wish in the future, we can get rid of this bad experience and we no longer need driver’s license. However, when it comes to make driverless car, the most important thing that is needed to resolve is not technology but moral problem. For example, when a car accident occurs, if the car turns right, the driver can survive but the second driver will die. How can we succeed in finding a result for this question? It’s a big problem for driverless car.

Week 7 - Future technology Empty Re: Week 7 - Future technology

Post by Marjorie VANNIER Sat Nov 18, 2017 7:15 pm

Hi everybody !

Recent technologies can be scary. In fact, I think modern technologies makes people human addicted. We can quote some examples, like the GPS or automatic transmission for car… Smart technologies can reach our self-government by removing comportment that somebody has designated as undesirable. Smart forks inform us that we eat too fast, or our cars tell us when we drive too fast…

We must value recent technologies which leave us total control of the situation and which aims only to improve our decision making by providing information.

Furthermore, some technologies have an impact on our humanity, and we have to anticipate these effects. It’s true that we have created technologies which present a real risk for us, and for future generations, as nuclear energy or waste management. Thus, technology we are creating, can stand against us, in fact we are not always to predict negative or position impacts, of our tools and technology.

Week 7 - Future technology Empty Re: Week 7 - Future technology

Post by ZHANG SHUN ZHI Sun Nov 19, 2017 12:06 pm

hi,
In my mind, i think the new technology will totally change our world in the future.

The flying cars will be the main travel mode for us, because it's faster and there is less restrict compared with the ground transportation. And we will increase the speed of the planes which will cut down the distance between two places greatly.

What's more, we needn't to do the housework anymore in the future, there will be a time of the intelligent machine and intelligent robots. By the way, we have more time to do what we want and have more time to get a good sleep everyday, it's so cool for me !

And then, we can buy all kinds of things from Internet market, there will be less traditional business model such as buying the goods directly in the store. The challenge for the future business is that they have to improve the delivery speed and the after-sales service. The logistics industry will be a great industry in the future.

In a word, the future technology will improve our efficiency whatever for work or for daily life, which means we will have more free time to enjoy ourselves.

Week 7 - Future technology Empty Re: Week 7 - Future technology

Post by Athénaïs Parisy Mon Nov 20, 2017 6:30 pm

My prime concern towards the future of technology lies in Artificial Intelligence. It seems that robots are increasingly capable of doing things only humans were able of a few years ago. For example driving a car. Nowadays, computers can drive a car and the only hurdle for their full-scale deployment is legislation. When self-driving cars are deployed in the street, their will be a huge loss of jobs, including truck drivers, cab drivers and so on… The same goes for many other industries that might be robotized due to the advance of artificial intelligence algorithms in the coming years or decades. I’m afraid such a development might unravel a wave of unemployment.

Post by Emmanuel THOMAS Mon Nov 20, 2017 11:53 pm

Hi everybody,
One of the aspect of new technology is artificial intelligence. That's interesting to observe how research are focused on video games and board games (in a first time) in order to develop A.I. for many sectors of our societies (as informatics, automobile for instance). A few months ago A.I. has made a huge step when the program named Stratus beat 4 of the best poker players of the world. After more than 10 years of research some scientists are resolved one of the more complex game. That's good news but how this evolution will be used? Some current cases as Snowden shows how new technology is used by government (or firms) for commercial or political purposes but not for only for people.

Some new technologies are crazy, maybe even scary !
Maybe have you heard about some recent interviews of a robot who is able to speak and to have facial expressions. Its really impressive.
I also saw a video of a robot doing sport movements easily, who is able to jump high for example. It seems like a video game or a movie, and we can imagine a whole army of this kind of robot which is a little bit scary.
But I think thats a good thing to develop these robots because they can bring interisting things to humans and can be useful for many tasks.
But we have to be careful robots dont become stronger and smarter than humans...

Hello everybody

I chose 2 technologies that we will surely lived with in the near future.
The first one is the taxi drone that is currently in development at Dubai by Volocopter. With those flying vehicles our displacements will be quicker and cheaper than ever. They are electrical so less pollutant than classical cars and to my opinion even funnier What a Face. But such innovation will implies some new issues such as a durable way to produce energy.

The second one is the next source of energy which will surpass the classical nuclear center. It's the fusion nuclear center which have the potential to supply the whole world into green electricity. This crazy project is currently in development in France by the ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) and gather the scientist of more than 35 countries of the world.
Our world is slowly starting to look like a SF one.
The way i imagine the future is exciting but a little bit scary with the big data treat and its drifts

One of the current technologies that are just starting to get known is: Muzo. It is a device that creates an area of silence around you, allowing you to isolate yourself from the outside noise.

There are 3 modes:
-Serenity: Creates a quiet space thanks to the " Anti Vibration Technology  "
-Sleep: To get a better quality of sleep thanks to a sound
-Secret atmosphere: to protect your privacy

What surprises me a lot is that this technology is only a box to put on a piece of furniture, or to put on a wall. Then, you have just press the button to have it work.

Sometimes it's the little things that make the biggest impact. This is certainly the case with nanotechnologies that are essentially manipulations of materials at the atomic and molecular scale.

The applications of nanotechnologies are very numerous.
- Nanotechnology has the potential to revolutionize computing, making computing speeds ultra fast, but by making smaller electronic devices. We are talking about a cell-size machine that can navigate through our body like an artificial immune system.
- The nanodevices will one day be able to manipulate our genetic code.
Nanotechnology will enable us to invent new materials with a wide range of applications.

Example: Scientists have just developed a system for measuring blood glucose using advanced nanotechnology: how could they help detect blood sugar in tears by integrating them into contact lenses.
An American team from Purdue University has just developed, thanks to advances in nanotechnology, a glucose measurement system that would be as effective in the blood as in saliva, urine and tears, so non-invasive measurement.

Post by Nantian YAN Sun Nov 26, 2017 9:11 pm

Hi,everyone
I imagine a lot about lives in the future. I think two words can summarize my imagination. The first word is fast. In the future, we will have more quickly transportation means. Now matter how far we go, it takes only a short time. With the development of science and technology, we can travel to the moon, Mars or somewhere outer space. People may can live in other planets. The second word is convenient. Because of the fast development of our society, many work can be done by computers or even robots. Lots of things are fully automated. Humans just need to give some simple instructions to complete complicated tasks.

Hi,
I am septic with your first world Nantian. Travel to the moon or Mars is very complex because humans caracteristics don't permit us to live in others planets that the Earth. Furthermore, this kind of transportation is very expensive and reserve for scientific experiences. About your second world, I believe that this is a possible evolution. However, I think that this system has some limits. One of them is that robots will replace lots of human basic jobs so unemployement risks to increase and favor poverty for a large part of the population.

Last year I had been to the futuroscope and I could discover the house of the future, we could discover inside the future of technology. This technology translates into ever more connected objects that have to make life easier every day.
What I liked was the "smart dressing" that allowed to see virtually the clothes we could wear on us without having to try them one by one.

hello,
i recently saw on TV a report on high-tech greenhouse. the technologie was invented by two french engineers and by the time they manage to produce some fruits and vegetables in that greenhouse.
the greenhouse create ideal circumstances for fruits and vegetables development. it could be an alternative in countries with climate problems (aridity, inundation...)
i find more than interesting the idea of a technology that besides of improving livings conditions may help (maybe) reducing famine in the world.

Hi everybody,
When i think about the possibilities linked to future technologies, I am interested about how those technologies can have an impact on sport. In the last 20 years, technology has allowed to develop new types of training, to analyse how the body works, how to increase his strenght with more efficacity.
As an exemple with rowing, technology allow us to know that 60% of the power comes from the leg, this can tell us that we need to train 60% of our time the legs and 40% of our time the arms.
Last year i also take a part in an experimentation about rowing to prevent from pain or troubles linked to sport.

Hi everybody,
When i think about future technologie, i think to medicine. Technology could replace surgeons for work with remarkable accuracy.
But i'm also afraid about future technologies. I think people will be assisted by new technologies. And it doesn't sounds good to me. We will not do some things so easy to do because of technology. I don't know if i'm understandable. But the consequences on humans life with these future technologies could may be dangerous.

Hello everyone, I’m looking forward to the future technology to make our life easier and more comptable . Like having a Doraemon, we can burst something nowadays samed as restraints . What the most expected  for me is  new technology in medical treatment and in games. I think in the future, we can have more effective treatment methods and cure more people. Like application of nanotechnology in medicine, and clone technology. I really want to take off my glasses in a much more secure and cheap way. And the Motion Sensing Game can make our life more fun when we stay at home… cyclops

One of the topics that I find exciting is nanotechnology in medicine. Nanotechnology makes it possible to detect cancers more quickly and therefore leads to faster management. They thus make it possible to reduce the risks of generalizations of the cancers. Today, there are two forms of detection by nanotechnology: the illumination of cancer cells and the laboratories on chips. For example, to treat Parkinson's disease, there is now an implant at the level of neurological receptors that can stimulate a part of the brain during seizures that triggers tremors to control them. Similarly, for Alzheimer's disease, which is an irreversible neurodegenerative disease, the use of nanotechnologies to target biomarkers of the disease would also enable early diagnosis of people with this disease.

Week 7 - Future technology Empty Re: Week 7 - Future technology

Post by Aian Fri Dec 01, 2017 10:41 am

Hello everyone,
Let's talk about technology in our time and in the future!
Today we have many inventions that were a surprise for our parents and grandparents. I won't tell you story about computing machines in 1956 and in 2016. You know it better than me. But I would like to have a jaw about the link between a technology and literature.
There is genre of literature who’s name is science fiction. In my opinion, thanks to this genre we have a possibility to present and to make the future by ourselves(if your fantasy doesn't perform well). For example, we have headphones Airpods and it's awesome! Wow, such little to be headphones! No. There are the words about “Shell in the ear” in the book of 1951 named“Fahrenheit 451” by Ray Bradbury. A wife of protagonist of this book wore it whole days listening to the news and music.
In this book we can find out our television-set for the whole wall, colorcast, miniature portable screens like our smartphones or map-case etc.
We have it all now, it's incredible, isn't it ? People who have died give us a chance, they give us a possibility to change our lives for the better. And maybe fiction writers of our time see and show us the future who is coming soon?
Maybe men would disappear and women would continue the human race without them like Bernard Werber was describing it? Or maybe the cinematography would go up and would make films leaving a temporary space? Or people would explore the death and they would discover what we(our souls) have after the death of bodies and brain? It’s so interesting to me, how technology may help us and should we use it to ameliorate environment of the Earth.
