21/11 – You can mix groups but no more than 18 for either session 9:00 to 10:30 and 10:30 to 12. Sign up now. - that means you must reply to this thread saying whether you are coming to the first or second session. Once 18 people have chosen a time slot the others must confirm they understand they are in the other.

Debate Rules:

Argument For – no interruptions max 5 min
Questions Against, Answers for max 10 mins
Argument against – no questions max 5 min
Questions for , answers against max 10 mins
Summary For 2 mins no interruptions
Summary Against 2 mins no interruptions

Vote by audience based on arguments not on friendships.

Organisation. Get a team of 4 (it can be people from your own promotion or a mix)  - 8 teams in total.

6. Your own alternative if you can get another team to agree to debate against you.

When you have your team of 4 look through the 6 debate subjects above. Then reply to this message, listing the members of your debate team and the topic you wish to debate stating whether you want to debate For or Against.

The first 4 teams set the agenda. The other 4 teams can only choose who they will debate against. So if the the debate you want already has someone debating for you must debate against (if the first group chose against you must debate for).

Your homework is then to prepare your debate – all team members must speak at some stage. organise who will speak when and agree on your arguments – the links are just a basis, they are all related to marketing and you are all intelligent people, so you should be able to come up with ideas and arguments which are not listed there. You must also anticipate the arguments of the opposition for the Q&A sessions.

Don't leave this homework to the night before and make a half hearted job of it. Make an effort and make it good. I need to see who is in each team and which debate you are debating on this thread BEFORE TUESDAY 8am (that's in the morning).

You will listen to the other 3 debates and vote on which side wins the debate.

Any questions then ask in this thread too.

By the way John, can we be the last group to debate? I thought we wouldn't have class until 15h30 so I said that I was available at 14h for an interview by Skype. So, I'll be free at 14h45 I think.
