Charloote NIORT wrote:One of the most prestigious, long-standing bicycle races and sport events in general is “Le Tour de France”. It is the third largest sporting event around the globe, and creates massive interest from the international media ( radio, newspapers, photographers, television…) needless to say, this event creates a lot of jobs. This event is a real pride for the French people because it enable to show the landscapes’ beauty and diversity , and even make foreigners want to visit our country.
To answer your insinuations about the frech rankings, the english bicycle racers have not particularly exceled this year, with only a 9th place for the best English bicycle racers (the 9th place isn’t a victory for me)
None of our top riders competed this year but it's true 7th is better than 9th. FYI 6 of the last 9 winners are British. 0 of the last 35 winners are French

The Tour de France is a global event, it allows France to bring back a lot of tourists and therefore increases the country’s economy.
It participates in the economy of all the regions because the Tour de France passes in the most part.
on the other hand this event is also broadcast on TV as well as on the radio so that everyone can enjoy it (although for my part most of the steps are boring).

Re: Week 2 topic - The Effects of La Tour de France
the "Tour the France" is famous because of the international impact it has; many people stay along the road for the crossing of the cyclists.it attract millions of people with the television , radio , newspapers. there is a "village of "Tour de France" in all the step ( with animation around it ; like games for child and many thing about the competition. The tourism can increase the economy of the country because many foreigners come for this and visite different places with theirs own spell; there is one point to put foward : the ecologie ; as you can see there are many cars and motorcycles who follow the head of the race , peloton and the espace of the day.The first French man on the top of the rank is guillaume martin from cofidis team manager he is eleventh ; englishman are not on the top this year with anyone on the top 10 it is the first time since many years.

Re: Week 2 topic - The Effects of La Tour de France
The " tour de france " what a wonderful competition where the best cyclists in the world compete on this beautiful territory that is France. The effects of the " Tour de France " are numerous, starting with its media coverage. Indeed, the whole world can see the beautiful French landscapes and maybe make them want to travel to France and this thanks to this competition. However, I find that the " Tour de France " has too bad an image with the numerous doping stories and recently also from elsewhere.

Re: Week 2 topic - The Effects of La Tour de France
The Tour de France is the name given to a cycling competition in France. The goal is to do as little time as possible on all stages in order to finish 1st and become yellow jersey. The best climber in a red dot, the best sprinter with a green jersey and the best young rider in a white jersey. This competition is renowned because France has beautiful landscapes, be it valleys, coastline or mountains.
