APP Work, Martins Diégo
Often, the athlete does not work the mind while it is this pillar that is likely to make the difference. In fact, Mental preparation enables the realization of objectives, challenges, through exercises (like relaxation, hypnotherapy) stimulating the athlete’s internal resources, the 4 C’s : control, commitment, challenge and confidence. Understanding these behaviours will be important for the individual in their wellbeing and performance because each of these characteristics determine how you feel and act.
First, control is the ability to maintain emotional composure regardless of distractions (for example, at football, don’t go nuts after having suffered a big fault that is not whistled). A mentally strong person moves forward and her positive approach can often raise the spirits of those around him or her. She controls her life and the circumstances that go with it.
Commitment is the ability to continue working toward one’s goal. He’s representing by the desire to work hard with the aim of keeping the promises and achieving the goals the athlete has set for himself (like Jamie Vardy who keeps running for a whole game to be the best possible and make his team win).
Then, challenge is the ability to be stimulated by a situation, by a difficulty. It means that the individual pushes his limits and accepts the risk. In other words, mentally tough person will consider challenges, change and adversity as opportunities rather than threats (like Ronaldo and Messi who are boosted by their rivalry and who surely would not be at such a level if one or the other were not there).
To end, confidence is the ability to believe in one’s capabilities. It’s also the fact to influence others
and face conflict thanks to the confidence that exists between individuals, the interpersonal confidence (as Lebron James who continues passing to a teammate to shoot while the latter had missed his shots before).
Consequently, coach and develop the 4 C’s is very important in order to improve your overall mental toughness.

Re: APP Work, Martins Diégo
For this week, let me tell you about a documentary I watched on netflix a few days ago, « The social dilemma ». In this documentary, intertwining interviews with a fiction about an ordinary family, technology experts and activists are sounding the alarm about some of their inventions that cause addictions and destabilize democracies. Fifteen of them took turns deciphering the business model of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Google and so many others with a comun purpose: alert the population. In my view, it is the fact that the message is carried by former executives, engineers or founders of these services that gives meaning and that makes this documentary a shocking documentary.
To sum up, it is said that everything is thought so that we do not get off these screens (the infinite scrolling, the incessant notifications that push you to constantly consult your phone,…). The aim of these platforms is not only to sell advertising but also to influence our actions and even our way of thinking. So we are constantly being manipulated and that without realizing it.
As a result, it is not only personal data collected the problem, the real problem is the behavior of the users, influenced by social networks or other technological things. By the way, we’re note only users but we are the products.
To conclude, this documentary opens our eyes to the real objective of digital platform such as social networks and shows us the hidden face of technology.

Last weekend I watched the premier league and especially Man United against Tottenham. But the match didn’t turn out as I hoped, Tottenham destroyed Manchester 6-1.. Yes, the defense of United is catastrophic and probably one of the worst of this championship, but I don’t want to draw attention to this but rather to the red card of Anthony Martial, my favorite player. Indeed, after having obtained a penalty in the first minutes, Martial was expelled for « punching » Lamela, nothing out of the ordinary so far..
However, when we see the images, we notice that it is Lamela who has elbowed, without reason, to Martial who has therefore subsequently replicate resulting in a vulgure fall of lamela to have taken a small tap. It is not the fact that the referee was wrong in his decision that annoys me but it is this simulation. Seriously, Lamela can’t let herself down like that, it’s a real joke really, he stood for five seconds before deciding to collapse. This type of behavior is truly shameful and should be punished by the league. How can we play the comedy in this way knowing that multitudes of cameras are watching our actions and that thousands of children are watching our match, this is not a good example !

Both should have been sent off and given bans.

Last Friday, the video game « FIFA » was released in France, and every year I ask myself the same question, how EA does it to win so much money with a game with so many flaws ?
Seriously, every year thousands of people strongly criticize FIFA and its gameplay, and despite that EA makes very little change and yet the game still meets the same success, I don’t understand. And when I tell you this, I feel a little stupid because I’m one of those people who "spits" on fifa but keeps buying and playing..
But it’s crazy to make more and more money every year on a game that does not develop very much and that, finally, only offers a simple update from year to year. In my opinion, FIFA 21 provide the minimum service for football fans, in need of stands with this period of covid.
So, all of this shows that people are addicted to FIFA. When I talk to you every week about various subjects, I am realizing that there is a multitude of "drugs" around us in this world and lock us in a sort of bubble : Fifa, Netflix, social networks…I think all these new things are changing our behaviour and taking us away from society by staying at home and not going out and spending time with people.

There really isn't much difference between each year's game. People are stupid.

This week, I’d like to tell you about my 18-year-old birthday present, a trip to New York with my family. I think I’ve never walked so much in my life really but it didn’t bother me because we visited, saw a lot of things as the statue of liberty (that I thought was bigger and more impressive) or the Empire State Building. By the way, we have climbed to the top of this building but it did not reassure me too much to see the people, the cars in miniature.
Moreover, our hotel was very well located, we were just 5 minutes walk from Times Square. I loved this neighborhood, seeing all its lights around you, all its giant screens, it’s amazing.
I retain a lot of positive from this trip. But if I had one thing to say about the negative side of New York I would tell the food. Indeed, as a big fan of food, I find that the food in France is much better than over there. For example, I much prefer burgers in France, they are also much cheaper (you really need money to eat well in New York).
You will have understood, it is the most beautiful travel of my life. We laughed a lot with my brother, especially, when we were bannoying our father because we got lost because of him and he told us "All you have to do is help me and take the map".
My best memory will be the surprise that my parents reserved for me and my brother : go watch an NBA game (Brooklyn vs Orlando at the Barclays Center). It was fantastic almost unreal for me to see an nba game in real life. In addition, we were extremely lucky because we have seen some show a great match which was decided on the very last action.
It should be noted that we barely escaped covid because a few weeks later, New York closed its doors to tourists.

For this week, let’s take an interest in Leicester City and his successful start to the season wheter it be in the League or on the European stage. Indeed, Leicester continues the good performance and I think, at the moment, it is the hardest team to beat in England, and this in part thanks to their intelligent recruitment, with the arrival of Castagne and Fofana and co. But these 2 new players perfectly complete the team : the first (Castagne) has a big volume of play and takes care of the right side wonderfully while the second (Fofana) brings some order and security in the defense.
Few expected Brendan Rodgers' team make a quick start, especially with injuries depriving them of key players such as Ricardo Pereira, Ndidi or Söyüncü.
For my part, I find them better than previous years and they are a pleasant team to watch: their tactics, the placement of players, the races made.. everything is perfect really, we see that they have worked a lot on this game plan based on quick counter attack and master it to perfection.
In the defensive phase, Leicester has a low block in 5-4-1 with, therefore, a line of 5 defenders, a line of 4 midfield players. These 2 lines are very important because they make, constantly, lateral movements to keep their compactness and cut forward pass lines. As a result, the opposing teams are, often, out of ideas and generally Schmeichel is barely worried.
Where Leicester is strongest, in my opinion, is in counterattack. As soon as the ball is recovered, they project themselves very quickly forward and create an opportunity. However, without Vardy, I think that this tactic would have limits andshe would not have the same success.
It should be noted that in the offensive phase, Leicester changed its composition to 4 defenders with Justin passing left midfielder and Fuchs left back.
In any case, I really hope that Fofana will come to Marseille (his dream club) because this player is very good.

Fofana is great but he'll never play for Marseille. Leicester then it's off to Barcelona
Re: APP Work, Martins Diégo
For my older brother’s 18th birthday, my parents decided to take a trip to London to celebrate this.We were convinced with my brother that we were going to see a football game because we absolutely wanted to attend an English football match because it is, according to us, the best championship (with the fans, the commitment on the field, the intensity). As a result, my brother and I went online to watch the games in London during our holiday period. Thus, there were 2 games: Crystal Palace - Liverpool & Tottenham – Leicester.
Personally, I was convinced that we were going to see Tottenham - Leicester because it was the biggest game, especially since Leicester had just been crowned champion. But I still had a little doubt because my brother is a Liverpool fan so I wasn’t 100% sure. The parents never gave us a clue until the day of the game where we went to...White Hart Lane, the Tottenham’s stadium. There were a lot of people on the streets.
But there was a problem: 2 hours before the match, we didn’t have the tickets. It is important to know that, at the time, it was really difficult, in France, to buy tickets for an English match. My father had contacted his Portuguese cousin who had called someone in England to ask them to take our places Anyway, even I didn’t understand everything.
So, to resume the story, my parents had gone to a kind of "hut", near the stadium, to collect our tickets but the resposables told them that they did not have places assigned to our name. My parents were in a panic, they called the cousin who couldn’t reach the person who had taken our places. At the time, we really thought it was over. But, luck came to us : my parents, who were having some communication problems with the English, found a manager who spoke portuguese. Finally, after 1 hour of great stress, the parents managed to recuperate our places.
We were sitting behind one of the goals, in the Tottenham fan stand and it was funny because my dad had a scarf half Tottenham/half Leicester and the fans were teasing him with it. Moreover, I said "sit" but the British spend more time standing than they do sitting. I keep a lot of good memories of this match, it happened so quickly. If you are a fan of football, there is nothing better than to go see an English match really it is extraordinary.

Was that when we won 1-0 through robert Huth or 2-1 with Vardy and mahrez scoring?
Re: APP Work, Martins Diégo
No it was the game where there had been 1-1 with goals from Janssen and Musa
