We thought we'd launched the forum with this question: Where did you grow up?
This way we will learn more about everybody, especially the new students, and they will get to know us (the so old ones) !

Love and butterflies?
I love it when a student starts a topic. Thanks Eloise.
You know where I grew up but I'm sure I'll reply again after a few people get the ball rolling.
Haha, *Love and butterflies* indeed.
Well everyone knows where I come from (the proud Lebanese). it's a beautiful country with lots of parties, alcohol and beautiful women. There are as well gorgeous landscapes and amazing monuments. Lebanese Food is a killer as well. So that's basically it.

Is it really that bad?
Nooo! You haven't tasted it or you wouldn't say that! I love when Yara cooks <3
I can make a super mega Lebanese dinner if you want Eloise... or John

That is telling us all about it?
I enjoyed visiting the pyramids and crawling through one but what was more impressive was the view of the city from the pyramids. It is a sprawling mass of humanity, covered by a pollution crowd. The noise is immense. Give me Luxor any day of the week (but I haven't been to Egypt in about 25 years now).

ANGOULEME IS QUITE A LAME CITY
Salomé P. wrote:Well i'm one of those who grow up in Angoulême, i just know this city since almost 22 years now! I was actually born in L'isle d'Espagnac, at 15 minutes of the center. After i lived in Angoulême until my 7 years old and then i moved with my parents to Puymoyen which is at 5 minutes of the center.
I'm conscious that i regularly start conversations almost transformed into battles to tell how it's becoming more and more an empty city but i also stay attached to it 'cause of the nostalgic effect on me. I mean this is my city, where i grow up and where i did my studies until high school and then here at the cepe for two more years. A lot of memories are here and i'll always be proud of being an "angoumoisine" (don't tell it too loud
Hello people !
I grew up in a lot of countries. Well actually, in two countries Canada and Madagascar. But I practically lived all my childhood in Madagascar.
It is a wonderful country and so are the people over there. I bet you guys knew that
Now that I think about it, I was such a bold and wild child back then... Things really do change a lot hahah !

Egypt is definitely a place to go ! i would love to take a selfie with the Mummy of Tutankhamun ! I just saw a documentary about the tomb of Tutankhamun, apparently they found a new hidden room. And a lot of archeologist think that it is Nefertiti's tomb... I would love to see that ! it's so exciting to think that there might be a huge treasury just behind a wall !
What do you think Habiba ? is it real ?

That's what I think when you lot are in the classroom next door.
In fact
thank you lorry for sharing this documentary that actually brings up a lot of things to say, on the one hand yes we have a lot of resources, ancient treasuries and valuable monuments but on the other hand we don't have the knowledge nor the advanced technology to use our resources efficiently, well it's the sad truth. But i guarantee you that it is worth it to visit not only historical places but also non-historical places: sahara and red-sea.

Re: Where did you grow up?
I swam in the red sea at Hurghada when there were only about 3 hotels there. It was wonderful. I understand that it's not like that now.
Re: Where did you grow up?
Hi everyone !
I like this topic. I grew up in Shantou,a very lovely coastal city. All I remember of my childhood is sunshine, beach, waves, swimming and a lot of seafood. The coolest thing is we often have typhoon in summer,so we don’t need to go to shcool.

I love the sea so I thought I'd check this out. An old fishing village but now over 5 million people hot temperature but quite a lot of rain. And then the Typhoons.
WOW!
Re: Where did you grow up?
Hi everyone, I grew up in the French Alps at the bottom of the Mont-Blanc in Chamonix. I love the climate of this valley because the seasons are different for example cold with snow in winter and amazing mountains ! The diversity is a typical feature of this town like in cultural and linguistic levels because there is in Chamonix around 40 different nationalities. It's also a tourist region during the winter (ski and alpinism like ice climbing) and the summer (hiking and rock climbing).

Re: Where did you grow up?
I grew up for 10 years in Paris, where i lived in the suburbs. But i don't remember anything because i'm partially amnesiac !
Then i moved to a small town near Poitiers when i was 11 or 12. I lived there until 2015 and then i came here in Angoulême.
I can't really talk about my childhood because i forgot it. But i think it must have been good for me to know the countryside and a big city like Paris.
(Am i supposed to say *love and butterflies* at the end of each post here ? )
