TED talks:how the US should use its superpower status
Hi,
Recently, we have paied close sttention to the selection of the US, and this topic thinks more deeper than the selection.
In the past several generations, the United States is large and in charge, the Americanization and globalization have been the same things. That’s the author’s point of view. But now the world has changed, in the G20, some presidents talk about something else and the others like, what’s going on over there? So author comes up with a driverless world, globalization is continuing but the Americanization is not. China wants to do more leadership and their own values, standards, currency. Russians want to do more leadership too. But Americans want their own preferences and order. On account of money and profit, American “support” the Middle East in trouble. Meanwhile, the Asia actually focus on long-term economic stability and growth. In Africa, we can see a big gap between rich and poor. And for America, the most important thing is to outrun the other countries. No matter which president will be selected, the challenges are growing and growing in the US, so it’s urgent for the leaders to change.

America is a weakening empire which could be hurt in the new digital world. however the gap between rich and poor countries will continue to expand.

Yes, and I think although the US gets weaker, but the world structure is not easy to change. Maybe the American's economie is just in the low point of the present economie cycle. The recovery is going to come back. Generally speaking, the developing contries need a powerful technological and scientific revolution to shake off the poverty and backwardness.
