Discussion around the travel.

Hello everybody !

Here is a small subject of discussion for the weekend! What do you think about travels ?

Personally, I went with a friend to Tunisia three years ago during one week. It was my first travel and it was very very cool ! It was very exotic with palm trees and camels and with the transparent water !

Have you already traveled ? If yes, where and how long ? And if you have never travelled, where do you want to go one day ?

I didn't travel a lot but I hope one day I will go to New-Zealand and Australia! I love these countries and its cultures so much!
However I went for example last summer to Valencia with my friends for a week . It was my first long travel with my friends and I really enjoyed it. Moreover I really love Valencia because it's an authentic city! Indeed Valencia is both modern with the City of Arts and Science (feels like you're in Miami !) and old with its historical centre(and its numerous beautiful cathedrals)
Moreover I saw how crazy and bad drivers Spaniards are aha!

You miss holidays already Angélique?

I didn't travel a lot too. I went twice in Great Britain : in London, last year, and in Exeter for a week. I also went to Spain two times with my parents during summers.
I hope I will go abroad after my studies to discover a new culture (Australia, Canada, Islande, United States...).

I think a lot of people want to go in Australia !

No i've never made a school trip abroad ! It was always in France... I live in the countryside so.. However during high school we received a mexican student for one month !

I've made two school trip abroad.
Last year, with Pauline, Florian and Yvanilde, we went to London. It was a very beautiful travel because we slept in the center of London in a youth hostel and we visited London for a week. I want to go back there because it's a very beautiful city.
I also went to Exeter when I was younger. I slept in a family with a friend and it's was very cool too. We were very lucky because the family was very happy to receive us.
And you Angélique, have you made a school trip abroad ?

As for me, I've traveled quite a lot and I hope I'll find a job that allows me to travel (or at least one that pays enough for me to go on vacations abroad...).

I have a special place in my heart for Belgium (the flamish side), South America, Asia and Africa (of course since that's were I come from).

I'd really like my next trip to be in South Korea or Japan! One day... And I've only been on a school trip once, when I was 10. We spent a week in the mountains somewhere in France :p

I love traveled I went in Ivory Cost in 2008 (my father's country) for two weeks. I didn't like my travel because in the economic capital city there was misery and the city smelled very bad (because of rubbish in the river and in the street). After we went in the village of my father which was so far to Abidjan. I preferred the village because there was no pollution, no smell bad and the air was very pure. They live in the middle of the nature with animals. They had not electricity but it was very interesting to see how the inhabitant lived without technologies. It was very interesting to discovered the culture of my father.

I traveled in United Kingdom (1 week), in Austria (2 weeks), in Spain en Portugal (with my parents - 2 weeks).

Finally I discovered Germany with ERASMUS. During 1 years I traveled in Germany and in the border countries like Slovakia (Bratislava), Austria (Vienna) and the Czech Republic (Prague). It was very interesting to discovered new culture and new country.

My "dream" is to go in the American continent and particularly in Canada.

This year's summer vacation, I spent 21 days to visite four European countries, a total of nine cities.The trip was selected in the hottest season, the process is full of pain and joy.My friends and I have to booked tickets and hotels every night during the trip，and we only rely on our less skilled English... :tongue:This is a brave travel for me, we have just a vague plan,the limited euro and shaky English.This trip broadened my horizons and made me realize the importance of English...

No Elise, I've never made a school trip abroad.. But I would like to go in England and specificaly in London because it's not far and it's a "classic" destination according to me.

Candy you have travelled a lot! I envy you ! As you, when I went in Tunisia my hotel was in a tourist zone but during a hike quad, we passed by miserable villages, there were papers everywhere !

I think that to go in America is the dream of a lot of people !

Last year, I went to Bordeaux with my friends. We spent 5 days in there. This year, I went to Zurich to meet my best friend. She guided me take a tour in Zurich and ate wonderful food. And this summer, I went back to China and had a travel with my BF. We ate a lot of delicious food! Yes, for me, friends and delicious food are necessary for a travel.
I hope to go to Northern Europe to watch polar lights!! I really want to go there!

I hope that the christmas' holiday comes quickly

I loved that ! I alrealdy visited Ireland during my Erasmus Semester last year, Spain twice with friends and family, Italy 3 years ago, Portugal last year, Switzerland and Belgium !! Finally I think I am also lucky to know a lot of region of France Brittany (of course), South of France, the sea, the montain...

Angelique , I love the subject you have chosen ! Travel, is the goal of my life !
I'm very curious, and I really want to discover different countries and cultures. I haven’t had the opportunity to travel a lot in my life.
I went to  Ivory Coast when I was 3 with my mother and my brother during 1 month, so I don’t remember..
Twice in England for  a school trip and I also went to Scotland. It was really great!
I went to Belgium and Corsica, but it is not really far..
And Now.. I'm waiting for the response to leave in Spain with the Erasmus program..
Like you Angélique, I also need sun and palm trees ! ^^

I traveled a lot of time but not in a lot of country, sadly
In fact, I went in Turkey with my parents every two years until I was 16 years old, it was a very good experience because we performed the trip with our car, so we visited a lot of countries and cities like Italy, Greece or Slovakia.
Now I must to work during summer vacation to earn money so I can't go with them.

I like your subject
Personally I do a lot of travel, but still in Europe. As, spain, italy, sweden, estonia, england .. But it was always cool and different. I think we have many things to learn and I'd go exploring after my studies to go further. A friend of mine has just left for the world tour and I must admit that it makes you want!

This is a very interesting subject =]
I love traveling but it costs a lot of money. However, I try to travel once per week and I try to go in cities where my friends live (for example Barcelona).
After my studies I would like to do a rod trip in Asia, with a backpack and for maybe 6months. I thinking that travels are very useful in order to widen our mind and culture.

I love the way you are all so polite when someone chooses a boring non-controversial subject. Soory Angelique, I mean that I love your subject and I like travelling though I haven't travelled so much since moving to France as like Ekrem a lot of my holidays are spent going back "home" to see family and friends. My favourite country visited so far is Egypt but I really want to go to India very very soon.

I love travelling too, but I did'nt travel a lot. So I try to travel one or two time for year (I often go in Spain, in Madrid, Barcelona or Merida, because I've got friends there). I traveled just in Europe until now, in Spain and in England.
But I wanna go in an other country after the Master to learn an other language. God knows where...

If I had a lot of money, I would like to go to Australia, to America specifically in New-York, Miami and Los Angeles of course ! But I have also a preference for "sun destinations" like Tahiti or Île Maurice, Maldives...

But for to begin, I would like to go to Spain, to Grece or to Italy !

As I said to Mr Cox, I would like to go to lots of countries where you have traveled! Did you like Spain and Italy? .
