Observations and questions for Charlene -Vtech

You watched and listened to Charlene's internship presentation. Please put your observations and questions here.

Hi everyone (although I'm the first one to comment :p )! As for me, I though that Charlene's presentation was quite good. I already knew that she did her internship at VTech but I had no idea of what her missions actually were, I only knew it had something to do with developing products.

Watching Charlene's presentation allowed me to realize what it actually means to work in the "developing team" of a society like VTech, and I think I might look for internship in this field (altough I might not try VTech because I don't really want to work in the toy industry), especially if there are tasks such as translating the text that a cute plushie sheep has to say!

I think Charlene's english is pretty good, it was clear and understandable and she had no trouble answering the questions!

I noticed that Charlene was dressed professional like a office lady for every presentation, not only in this english presentation. It's a very good habit which can give a professional impression for others.
Then, the presentation is clear and organized orderly. However, it will be better if you speak louder, which can show your confidence.
Anyway, it's a good presentation !

I think it was good. Nothing to tell about. Maybe you should not take any notes i mean not that big. I don't know if we are allowed to take paper in the final presentation (john ?)

You can take notes in and use them.

Obviously it's better if you don't but you are not penalised for it unless it affects your fluency or general presentation.

Yeah, great presentation Charlène, really well done slides and good English!
I didn't except this work to be so much about translation but I guess it makes sense when working for the French subsidiary of a big US toy company.
Loved the pictures you used too and I agree the sheep plushie was really cute ^///^


Also FYI: "voice actor" might be more appropriate than comedian in the situation you mentioned.

Very good presentation Charlène! The subject was very well presented, and your english was very understandable.

I did not necessarily see things to change, I found that the different parts were well treated, and that especially the whole presentation was very simple to understand. =)

I think you spoke quite fluently and the tasks you were in charge of seem really really interesting !!
Perhabs you have to be more self-confident, because it was really good (But I can't blame you because I'm maybe the least self-confident person ever)

I watched my video and I remarked that I had bad habits such as touching my ring when I speak. Also, I read too much at the beginning. I think for next time I will improve it by not taking any paper. I also agree with John concerning the fact that I read the powerpoint.
