Group B S02W03 Childhood Dreams
Not sure if this is what you deamed of being when you were older or dreams you had at night but whatever you decide it is, it's for you.
Re: Group B S02W03 Childhood Dreams
Hi, when i was child i had a lot of dreams. In fact, every time i watched something interesting i was dreaming of making it my job in the near future. The list is so long that i can't remember everything. But after a couple of years, I discovered that i truly loved Judo especially because i was really really good at it so i dreamed to become a pro. I started training a lot, about 12 hours a week when i was in middle school and high school and shown great results until i broke my arm and destroyed my knee and it was over sadly. Not that i couldn't practice it but i couldn't do it at the same level anymore and i lost the thing.
Now i don't think that what i'm doing is something i'm dreaming of, it's more something i like to do and want to do. The passion isn't the same i guess, it's more the result of a long thought than something i was willing to do since i was a child. Today, i have projects, things i want to get, do and achieve.I believe It's more of some strong desires than real dreams. Maybe it's happen when we grow-up and face reality i don't know.

Re: Group B S02W03 Childhood Dreams
Hellooo!
Childhood dreams is a very interesting topic to discuss about knowing that some of us want to study children products next year! I think dreams are a very important part of our childhood because it's what make childhood kind of magical : when you're a child, you have your entire life to build so you can feel free to become whatever you want to become, and it is a really pleasant feeling. When you start growing up, you realize things aren't that easy and that's when the magic disappears (even if, hopefully, we can keep on dreaming and we can also try to reach our deepest dreams by working hard).
Personally, when I was a child, I had two big dreams (please don't laugh). First, I wanted to be a mermaid so badly because I was a fan of The Little Mermaid and I loved swiming. I thought it would be amazing to be free to breathe under water, to live under the sea... I knew it was completely unrealistic but that's what I was wishing while blowing out my birthday candles.
When I was an older child, a bit later I loved singing and I used to do it everytime I could (that must have been very boring for my family, I think they still hate me for that). I dreamed about going to a TV song contest but my father told me that he would disinherit me so I didn't. But this dream must have leave a mark because I'm still constantly singing!
And you, what were you dreaming about when you were a child ?

Hello guys !
As Elsa, I think this topic is interesting ! It's been a long time I didn' think about what I dreamed few years ago.
I remember two dreams I had when I was a child. One was more achievable than the other, you'll see !
My first dream was about sport as Matthieu. But I wasn't a judoka, I was a gymnast. Indeed, I started artistic gymnastics when I was 4 and I stopped with 17 years old because of my studies. When I was about 12 I was dreaming of competing at the Olympic Games 2012 in London. With my friends we really wanted to achieve this but when I think about it right know I think it's ridiculous. I really loved that sport but obviously my level was sooo bad compared to the olympic level. Well you've never see me on your screen at the summer 2012 but maybe I'll become famous later for another purpose.
My second dream is also stupid but at least this one came true.
I've always been a cat lover so I had a cat when I was 7 and my dream was having a second one. Sorry to disapoint you, there is nothing magical in here. My parents did us a surprise with my sister to adopt a second cat. So I introduce you below Nougat and Cookie, my beloved cats. I MISS THEM !

Hi,
I also think that topic is pretty interesting because it's not so common! When I was young I wanted to do a lot of things but never the same (because kids always change their minds)! So my big dream was being a surgeon because I loved medecine and I still loving! I dressed myself as a surgeon at any events where I could and I even asked my parents a kit of medecine for Christmas! Also, I wanted to be a pilot of Formula One ( crazy idea for a girl ahah). That dream came to me after many hours watching Formula One on TV. I was always watching this with my father, I was a big fan of Shumarer and I wanted to be exactly like him! That dream was crazy and I knew it's was impossible but I was optimistic ! And finally, I wanted to be a cooker in gastronomy because I love food and cooking. That's why maybe I want to work in food-processing industry right now.

Hi,
When I was a child, my dream was to be a professional footballer. I played football from the age of 6 till my late teenage years. I stopped because I was too bad at school and playing football is a time-consuming sports when you are passionnate about.
I remember when I was a child, I bought all the football magazines, with wall poster all over my bedroom. There was Zidane, Figo, Ronaldo (the fat one, not Cristiano), Maldini etc etc. The golden era of football in my opinion !

I had a dream, to be a drum player in a music band. I used to play music with all i could find, but today i am not into those dreams any more. I also used to dream about the books i read for my French classes...i was reconstructing the story while sleeping. I always liked it when it stopped because it wasn't very entertaining to think about it...but it is how brains work...organizing by themselves.

Hey, that's topic is interesting for sure, but [joke about eating dogs cancelled].
In fact, I don't really know what to say... Like every child I wished to be a bus driver, or a tramway driver, or a train driver... But that's sooo classic.
I never wanted to be a great sportman, or musician, or to have an extravagant job... I was full of dreams, but unrealistics dreams, like to have superpowers, to learn playing piano (and harp), or to sing in tune (I insist, all of this is unrealistic )
But, while I'm writing this, I remember maybe one thing. I have always loved words, language's shades, to write stories and poetry... I started to write when I was 8-9yo. The day you will buy a book with my name on it, my "childhood dream" will be true! hahaha

Hi people,
Contrary to all of you, when I was young I had a really strange dream... It sounds crazy but I was a very lazy child and I didn't want to do my homeworks so I decided that my dream was to earn a lot of money by winning a lottery. I wanted to have enough money and that case I will never have the need to work. It still my dream but never happen yet.
My second child dream was being a tennis player. I wanted to have the same tennis skills as Roger Federer, my idol, my God, my love, etc. Because he was too strong nobody could be better as Roger.

Re: Group B S02W03 Childhood Dreams
Eudes I strongly agree with you... In this world there's nothing can make people happier than getting rich in a short time! So the lottery is a really good dream, in fact when I was a child, I also dreamed to be a writter and wrote a lot of books (and also earn a lot of money-I am a so realistic boy haha). But after I gradually realized that becoming a writer can not make so much money as I espected, so I gave up this dream but the literature is always a good thing who can stay with you throughout your whole life.
But to be honest I rarely had dream in my childhood, or I almost forgot it. Someone says that we should always keep our initial dream because it is our original or first wish in our life, but it is not so useful or makes much sense- it's just a desire in a life's stage where nothing was determined and everything in your life was possible. You could dream everything you can and you would forget everything you had dreamed about. It is romantique, but it can not go further for me...

Re: Group B S02W03 Childhood Dreams
Hi Guys,
as Nolwen, I had two dreams! I didn't really like go to school except in sport's class (It was my favorite class). That's why I decided i will go to the Olympics games one day... well, I didn't have enough time with scout and dance so i had to give it up
My second dream was to be a child ballet student and a prima ballerina!! I was sort of good in classical dancing but when I was 6 a doctor told me that my ankles were too delicate so I could never be a professional ballerina.. That's why I focused on my second dance passion, modern-jazz!!
I think childhood dreams are wonderful! It is a way to know yourself better and to keep going with dreams, try to make it real, and that is nice

Re: Group B S02W03 Childhood Dreams
Hey people,
Im laughing a lot with your stories, because I've never had a lot of dreams about what I wanted to be when I grew up. I remember that when I was like 6 or 7 I wanted to be a dancer. I did ballet for many years and I used to record videos of me dancing with my brother (poor kid) and do presentations to my parents in my house. So, when I was 10, my mother told me I was to big to be a ballet dancer, because ballet dancers should have a small body.
She crushed my child's dream
After that, I decided to be more realistic and chose to be a lawyer. I dreamed about going to big courts and defend the innocent people. I used to watch a lot of tv shows about this, so I was already feeling a future lawyer. When I share my dream with my parents, they told me I should talk to my uncle, because he was a lawyer and he could tell me what is really to be a lawyer. And well, that was the second time my dreams got crushed. He told me that the big part of the cases don't involve a big court and a jury, but a room, with a table and some chairs. And also that sometimes you have to defend guilty people and try to let them free from jail because you need money to survive. Finally, I lost all hope about my child's dream.
Anyway, I still think dancer and lawyer could be fun
