Group A S02W03 - BD Festival
Your topic of the week - the real question is will we see anything from Adeline, Yvanhilde and Fanny?
Re: Group A S02W03 - BD Festival
Hi !!!
The Comic Festival, is a must-see topic when living in Angoulême. Indeed, very often Angoulême is just known for its comic festival. For once Angoulême will be alive for a weekend.
Look forward to discovering that.
This year it will be my first comic book festival. And what an investment ! Because with the cepe we will distribute magazines in the street and hold a stand to present the school.
Otherwise, I like comics, and to do original I like Titeuf, Gaston ...

Re: Group A S02W03 - BD Festival
I like Titeuf and Gaston too Marceline !! But when I was younger my favorite BD was Tintin, I've read all of them. It was my father who gave me these books.
I have to say something... (please god don't blame me), before, I don't even know the BD festival of Angoulême... Last year, when I applied to this Master, I talked to Angelique from M2, and she said to me "If you don't know so much thing in Angoulême and if we ask you during the interview, say that you are happy to come here because of the BD festival"... And this is the first when I heard about this festival.
Maybe someone can explain me what is this festival, and why this is SO popular...
But don't worry I'm curious and I've a free enter, so I'm gonna check what's going on

Hi everybody!
Yesterday, we went for a ride with Maëlys! We wanted to go the first day te see everything before the rush
It was very cool to see lots of people and foreigners in Angoulême city! We walked in the center city around many stands. We aren't really interested about this but it was mainly to have a look
We haven't spoke with any editors but we checked their bds.
I would like share some pictures of us because You went somewhere where sncf was organizing an event. We could take a picture in the setting of the famous Orient Express. A profesionnal took the picture and then we received two of them!
And some others pictures in Tifeuf's skin!!

Hi guys !
I read a lot but not comics. When I was younger I read Titeuf and my favourite, the comic that I read a lot was Tom-tom and Nana. That's all. I prefer read books, I have read the first Harry Potter when I was nine years old. Today, I read a lot psychologic thriller books, I love this kind of stories
Yeah Vincent I'm gonna check what's going on at this festival because I have the same question !

Hi everybody,
Even if, I live in Bordeaux (130km from Angoulême and less than 1h30 of path in car), I have never been in The Comic Festival... ...moreover I have studied art & design... I have no excuse...and this year, I am in other country....but NEXT YEAR !!
In fact, I don't really like comics (I don't like Titeuf or Gaston)...I don't know why...However, I consider comics like a so beautiful art !!
Like Vincent, when I was young, I loved Tintin (but I didn't read all the book, in fact, I think that I looked just the pictures...) and like Andrea, I loved Tom-Tom & Nana ! (In this comic, I read all the book, at least 20 times each !)
Yeah Vincent and Andrea, I have the same question !
Why this festival is so popular ?
How some people had the idea to create this festival ? And how they have succeded to do this festival (in Angoulême) an international festival ?
However, a few year ago, I disvovered a wonderful comic, Pico Bogue ! Very funny, and I love it ! This is the last comic (my christman present !). I love the graphism !
Pico (first name) Bogue is him : an adorable red hair little boy !
Always tousled and famished !
Always tired !
Always dreaming !
Always arguing with his sister Ana-Ana (Bogue) !
Very humoristic !

Re: Group A S02W03 - BD Festival
Hi everyone !
As you know, the international festival of BD, is taking place this week. I didn't go this year, but I could do in previous years. 2 years as a worker, and other years, as visitor. I like this festival, even if I'm not really a comic reader. I prefer read traditional book.
But when I was young, I've already read some comics, like Titeuf, Lou, Les profs... Rather fun comics.
I advise everyone to do at least once the festival.
Have a nice week-end, and see you Monday.

Hi guys,
I don’t have the chance to know Tintin or Tom-Tom & Nana. When I was younger in South Korea, I grew up with Japanese comic books like other Korean friends.
We have a lot of comic book cafés. There we can read a book with a drink or some simple snacks. We pay a flat rate to spend a number of hours reading books and enjoying quiet ambience of the place. There are different promotions to have access to the café and to have a drink.
These cafés are very popular in South Korea and are good place to change your mind after a day at school or exams.

Re: Group A S02W03 - BD Festival
Hello everyone, as you I have favorite comics. "Lou" is really the one I preferred when I was younger with his adorable love story with Tristan!
I obviously also know Titeuf, Lucky Luke, Tintin and the Smurfs! But this year the festival of Angouleme has the theme of manga and I admit that I am not really attracted to this universe...
This year was the first time I participated in the International Comics Festival and I was impressed to see the number of comic book fans who were busy for an autograph! I think it's to be seen at least once.
Otherwise I find interesting to talk about the precariousness of comics writers in France at the moment. Indeed, at the opening of the festival of Angouleme this fact was denounced. While the comics sector is growing rapidly, 53% of comic strip writers have a lower income than "Smic", 36% of whom live below the poverty line. Everything is about copyright, the authors need publishing houses to make their works known to the greatest number and this gives publishers a very strong bargaining power weakening the control of creators.
If you haven't been to the 2018 festival yet, there is still time!

Hello !!! Yes, I'm still alive on this forum don't worry I've never been to the BD festival of Angoulême! I wanted to go this year but it's a bit complicated for me with my trains to go back to Bordeaux as you know haha. Like Florine Lou is a classic for me, but my favorite comic is definitely Tom-Tom et Nana ! So funny and so absurd, it made me laugh every time I read them !! I read a lot of BD when I'm at babysitting, because children loves them Picsou for example or Spirou... I think this festival is a good thing for Angoulême because it gives an international dimension to the city and it brings a lot of people here and it's important. It's quite bizarre to see Angoulême crowdy but it's pretty cool! Maybe next year I will go!

Re: Group A S02W03 - BD Festival
For me, BD festival is not extraordinary. I explain briefly: being angoulême, I am already several times.
It must at least be done once in his life; Angouleme is famous for that.
The advantage is that you can see everything on the 4 days; the disadvantage is that you have to allocate a budget (if you want to have fun).
All that to say, I love the festival of comics but without being "Wouaou ..!"

Hello everyone !
As you like comics but I will not do in originality when I was little I read Titeuf, Tom-tom et Nana, or I looked Lou like you Florine, I find that comics are easy to read!
I think having a festival like the comic book festival in Angoulême is cool because it allows to make known the city, to make it more alive and to discover many things, when I arrived at Angoulême I do the cartoon museum I would have liked to participate in the festival this year but I could not! : /
I participated only Friday morning by holding the CEPE presentation booth with Aurélie and Gwenaëlle!

Re: Group A S02W03 - BD Festival
Yeah, with my girls Gwen and Manon, we were at the festival to keep the CEPE'stand ! It' was boring because there was nobody who was interested by a master's degree.
Friday night I went to the "Pavillon Manga" because it's my world, my life ... hahaha I'm joking (or not) So, I went for a walk to see what publishing house there are or any famous mangaka. Then, I discovered on the Kotoji publishing house a french girl, Aerinn, who just start the mangaka profession thanks to her first manga entitled "Chronoctis Express". I was intrigued by the imagery of her book, I didn't know her and her work so I just wanted to meet her. She explain me how she start her job thanks to Kotoji, also the fact that the "Chronoctis Express" story is from one of her dream. First she was publishing her manga online and then Kotoji really appreciated her skills so they began to publish it.
The story is a mix between mythologic legend and hyper modernism, it's really interesting and the draws are beautifull !!! I recommand you to read it if you are a little interest in french manga !
PS: I bought the manga and Aerinn sign it ! yeaaaaaah (so happy)

Hello, so I'm not going to the comic strip festival because it does not interest me too much, but I think I can go there next year because the theme of this year does not please me.
I'm not a fan of comics, although I know some like Tintin, Asterix and Lou.
