Let's talk about travel
Hello everyone,
This is my first post with a free subject (youhouuuuu). I wanted to do a class on the practice of sport at school but I don’t know if it really interested me and if especially it would interest you! So following the initiative of Eudes and his subject, here is mine. I will speak here of travel.
Since I was very young, I had the chance to discover many countries. My father being a fan of history, we went to countries with a strong historical aspect. So I visited: France (obviously!) and more precisely Normandy for the memorial of Caen (cuckoo Eudes), Italy (all Tuscany and classics like Venice or Parma), Spain, Croatia (Dubrovnik), Bosnia -Herzegovina, Montenegro, the Reunion island, Egypt ...
The trip that marked me most is : Egypt. From the top of my 13 years, I saw a month even the famous pyramids of Giza (the most expensive monument Monopoly wonders of the world haha), the oldest pyramid Saqqara, the temple was moved named Abu Simbel ... It was a trip that marked me strongly because it was the first time that I was confronted with a really different culture but also with the poverty of a country. The history of Egypt is great and beautiful, but unfortunately at age 13 I didn’t realize how lucky I was to be there. Indeed, it was when I returned to France that I realized how lucky I had been. During our trip, we visited the largest souk of Cairo: Khal al-Khalili, Wednesday morning from 9h to 11h. A week later, we learned on TV that an attack took place in the same Souk on Wednesday, February 20 at 10 am causing many deaths. Two years later, the Arab Spring began.
I really want to go back as soon as possible to rediscover this beautiful country culturally with my friend. It is travel that remains engraved in me.
I have since this trip, discovered several countries that formed the alumnus Yugoslavia. I could see that even though the war was over, the relations between the countries were still tense: for example, we spent more than 3 hours from Montenegro to Croatia. All the cars were searched. We also visited Mostar, a city where European and occidental culture meet. The bridge that characterizes it was destroyed during the war and was rebuilt since the old city. It is a city of magnificent cultural richness. This city is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Very close to this city, there is a small paradise on Kravice land! It was wonderful.
Today, I don’t travel with my parents anymore, but that doesn’t stop me from continuing my trip. So I work every year from April to September to go on a trip: two years ago, I went to Reunion island for a month and a half. I did many hikes to discover all the circuses, of course I took the opportunity to swim, but behind the coral reef.
And you, are you holydays quiet in hotel , or rather adventurous? Have you visited countries that have marked you? Summer vacation or winter vacation?

Hello Hagar !
Thank you for your message, it's so nice!
I don't really need anything because, it's the (re) discovery of the country that interests me
In any case I wish you a merry Christmas and a beautiful holiday

Re: Let's talk about travel
What a lovely post Léa !!!!!
I would like to speak about my travel in Las Alpujarras in Andalucia !
Let me remind you the context ; it was after my erasmus, in june 2018.
I was in Granada, next to the Sierra nevada (mountains), and Las Alpujarras, is a "special" part of La Sierra Nevada ! In fact, it's a part more "humid" that this other part of La Sierra Nevada and so "more green" and "pleasant".
There was only mountains around me ! I was totally "cut of the world".
I can describe,....so beautiful......I prefer show you pictures of my experience !
It was a new experience because it was the first time that I travelled alone. (I was a little bit afraid of being alone in a foriegn country....)
The white houses and red roses are a tipical caracteristic of the moorish architecture :
When, you speak about poverty : "It was a trip that marked me strongly because it was the first time that I was confronted with a really different culture but also with the poverty of a country", I totally agree with you because I had the same feeling in Andalucia (very poor région of Spain...) and I was very sad about this....
You can see Almeria city, (2h of Granada), very poor city of Andalucia.
You have noticed that it's totally different from Las Alpujarras (much more dry and arid), more difficult to live too.
To conclude this part, I have a very good souvenir of this special travel in Las alpujarras (I don't know why !). Strangely, I went to Tunisia, New-York, Boston, Miami and New Orleans....very big travel and very "impressive" travel....but the travel that I prefer is this one in Las Alpujarras !!
And I feeled "that" in your post when you sspeak about Egypt....
