Here is a topic for this week, a bit late but at least there's one !

A lot of you already know that i'm a big fan of manga ! I read a lot and still read a lot every day during classes (hehe). Here are some readings you may find interesting, all of them are from different styles :

- Death Note
- Solo Leveling
- Goblin Slayer
- Kuroko no Basket
- High School of the Dead
- Shingeki no kyojin
- Shokugeki no Soma
- Kingdom

There's so much to learn from reading. For me, it helpsme a lot with my english and also for my personal culture cause i learnt a lot about others civilisations.

For novels, i like fantasy. I read every Harry potter's books, also Eragon and Ewilan Quest.

And you what are you reading ? Who's your favorite author ? What's your favorite genre ?

Hi Matthieu!

Greeat idea! I admit that I searched a topic but I couldn't find anything... but i like this one!

I love comics! When I was a child, I read all of the comics of the public library of Poitiers, so when there was nothing new to read, I use to go to the Fnac and sit there for a few hours in a corner to read all of the new comics!

The only thing I find sad about comics is that they are really expensive for the time you spend reading them... But I understand!! It is a lot of work Smile

I quite like mangas, I read most of the Narutos and One Piece (yes, the most famous I know aha not very original!)

But I prefer traditionnal comics!

My grandfather has kept all of the old versions of Tintin that he got when he was a little boy (like more than 60 years ago!!), they are very fragile but still in good condition, I love to read them!

Thank you for starting the conversation honey, you're the best !!

To me, reading is essential! Even if it's an individual activity, I find it really enriching. You learn a lot of things such as vocabulary and others ! It also allows to relax and escape the daily problems ahah
The issue is : I can't find time to read !!!!!! I always find other things to do and at the end, I never read!
First, it's very hard for me to concentrate enough to read. For this, I need absolute silence and it doesn't happens a lot!
Concerning the books or comics I like the most, my favorite comic is Lou! (see my profil picture) written by Julien Neel! It tells the story of a girl, Lou, who lives with her mom and who does not know her dad. We follow her life in the comics from her 11 to her 18. It's really easy to identify to this girl who is in love with her childhood neighbor, Tristan, who has a best friend called Mina and who questions herself a lot during her teenage years.  I've grown up with her and the last volume has been released last november and I love it so much!

Concerning books, I love different genres : romances, crime novels, fantasy novels etc !

Yes  indeed! Tintin may seem very serious as it is quite all and there is a lot of text, by there are lots of jokes and very funny ones! I used to read a lot while reading Tintin especially with the Haddock Captain and his insults!

But as someone who lives with you i can definitely say that time and silence isn't the only problems ! The thing is that once you start you reading you fall asleep in the next ten minutes !!!

My sis also loves Lou and i saw the tv show, i have to say it's quite good, the author is also such a nice person !!

Naruto and One Piece are strong standards and pioneers of a gender which is the Shonen manga ! I'm happy that you enjoyed reading them because you aren't the target of this books who is boys between 12 and 14 years old ! Very very nice that enjoyed them !

My grandfather doesn't have Tintin Bd's but he has Asterix and Obelix !!! i loved to read them

To answer your questions, it's really hard for me to choose a favorite character as they all bring something to the story ! But I love Haddock for his strong personality , his funny insults , Tintin for its determination and wisdom and Milou for being a great companion always here to save his master and friends !

Concerning the album I love the most, it's also hard haha but I would say the Cigars of the Pharaon as it's the volume where Tintin meets Haddock! or the prisoners of the sun as I love when Tintin speaks to the sun in order to save himself and his friends! or the land of the black gold !!! SO HARD TO CHOOSE I LOVE ALL OF THEM

Manga - sorry I don't read them.

When I was young I used my pocket money (earned by doing chores) to buy 2 comics every week. In my early teens I found Marvel and DC but I moved onto Science Fiction books in my mid teens which then moved more to High Fantasy books - Tolkien, Donaldson etc... and some horror. More recently I got into Long series like the Malazan books by Steven Erikson. For the last few years I've read a lot of pulp detective novels. In the summer I can sit down and read all day, so I get through a lot of books in a year.

[M2 Child] Your Favorite BDs, Novels Empty Re: [M2 Child] Your Favorite BDs, Novels

Hello class !

During my childhood I read lot of BD ! I read Tintin because my father had all the books, and he gave me all the Tintin adventures' BD, except one because his dog bite it. After, I read all the Asterix and Obelix comics, Titeuf, Les blondes, Kid Paddle too... I think it's very cool way to help children to read, there is pictures and text, it's easier to understand the scenes, what's going on...
