Final topic first semester - Megan Rapinoe

This final discussion is for your thoughts on the themes introduced in the article you read in class on 18/11.

So, in my mind the racism and the type of discrimination in football is particulary developed, and mostly strong, not cause this practice is negative, it just seems the engagement and the history in football bring a lot of tension and this stress makes people completely blind and despising.
Indeed, when a person supports his team, makes part of a community, it loses his reason and just become a concentration of bad emotions good to throw on people.

i think racism in football is unnacepptable, and i think megan rapinoe's fight against it is fair but in another hand i think his obcession with the men's salary is a kind of jealousy, and i agree that woman and men should be paid equally, but in life, people are payed for their skills in work, the better you are in your job, the better you are payed, so i think instaed of increasing womens salarien to the mens level (who receive ridiculous amounts of money) we should decrease the men's salary to the womans level. And then you can stablish a scale to reward the skills and the influence of the players, but with no difference between men and woman. To make an example, the best player women and men in the world should receive the same amount of money, an average men and women should also receive the same amount of money so you don't decide the salaries because of the gender, but because of the work they do.

Racism is an ideology postulating a hierarchy of races. This one is also a discrimination about one or many persons, and in all case this phenomen must be fight and must vanish. Il exists people really engaged in the racism like Megan Rapinoe who accused the racism in football. She is going on with in addition to the unequal pay between men and women, where this subject is very marked in the football. But, for example, in the basketball the racism is less developed, maybe because this one have their origins to USA where white and black people are mixed. Also, Megan Rapinoe is a representative of the homosexuality, and she wants to fight against this one with her authority and the world image that she has thanks to the victory of the USA team during the Women World Cup in France. So, there are a lot of discrimination about the skin color, the salary, the sexual orientation and also other topics...

But a fantastic Male teacher is paid no more and sometimes less than some other teachers. Where is the merit in that?

Unfortunately racism in football and in other sports too is very present that are in the male and female teams. Racism is bad for me because it belittles people when we’re all the same. We all have to fight racism together. Unfortunately, there are many kinds of discrimination, such as skin colour, homosexuality and many others.

I think that racism is intolerable in football, and in all other sports. I think racism has no place in sport, and even in everyday life. Last week we talked about Megan Ripinoe, she’s a professional footballer. I didn’t know her until the World Cup. She won the 2019 World Cup title. She denounces racism in football. It is fighting for equal pay for men and women in football. Today, there is a lot of racism about skin colours, salaries, sexual orientation…

Racism is an ideology according to which there are several races within the human race and that we are all not just humans. It supposes that some races are better than others regarding most of the time the skin colour, origin or culture...Therefore, racist people think they are allowed to underestimate or even insult black people for example. The hate of those who are different from us is such an old issue. Even if things have changed, nowadays racism is still an issue and it’s necessary to continue to fight against it. We have to stand together against all types of hate ideology.

megan rapinoe is an example to all, she assumes what it feels in the eyes of all and does not hide in spite of the homophobic or racist criticisms she may receive. she fights against gender inequalities. this problem should not take place but unfortunately some people think the opposite. I think that thanks to her, many people will follow her and draw inspiration from her in order to do the same

Racism in sport is a devastating scourge for me. In the same way as sexism. Indeed sports is the mirror of society and as we can see racism in everyday life, we also find but unfortunately in the sport. It's exacty the same thing for sexism. A popular example about the subject of sexism it is the difference in pay for the same sport between a man and a woman. The most striking example is football, as it is an extremely well publicized sport, money is also extremely present in this environment.

Megan Rapinoe is a female soccer player and plays on the American team. She also played at the Olympique Lyonnais. I think she got several gold balls during her career. At the last world cup she refused to go to see Donald Trump at the White House and she is an activist against racism and discrimination.

It's horrible to judge someone juste because she is a women or because of his skin color.
I'm not surprised to find racism in football, it's not really a sports who the people playing it are really intelligent, i'm just joking.
I hope so that in many years racism will not more exist.

As we have been able to see and say with Megan Rapinoe racism is degrading and I do not find it honest I think that this is especially to the spectators and their mentalities.
In my sport, which is athletics, I have never seen a concrete case of racism or a crowd that degrades a person like football, although the history of athletics and that of Jesse Owens is very hard to wait but he has become an insult to Germany and a great champion.

Megan Rapinoe is a famous football player. The fact she uses her notoriety to lead her fights is good, according to me, because I agree with her points of view (at least, for what i know from her, but I don't know much information from her...). Like almost all of us, I think it is great to fight against racism, sexism and other stupid ideas (sorry if it yours John), in sport or anywhere else. Since I agree with her ideas, i think she's right to use her fans in this fight. Furthermore, it is brave to fight against such ideas and so to expose herself to people she doesn't agree with, while she could do nothing and live her life quietly.

Megan Rapinoe won the last female world cup, the golden ball feminin and she get elected the best player of the competition. With all the different title she won, she becam more famous than before. And she is realy engaged against the racism. With her notoriety her voice can be more listen by all people.

I think that racism in football is at the beginning from the public, no matter the sport. Rapinoe didn't accept the invitation from Donald Trump at the white house with the american women football team and i think it was the good choice and she got lot of courage to show the exemple against the inequality cause Trump Don't respect it. I hope she doesn't did it for nothing and many american people will understand his choice and change their mentality
