Insomnia corresponds to a decrease in the quality and quantity of sleep with insufficiently restful sleep. Everyone can be affected by insomnia sooner or later. It can be transient, occurring one or two nights sporadically without causing repercussions or chronic when it occurs more than 3 times a week for more than 3 months. Insomnia is a very common sleep disorder in Western countries and affects almost 20% of the adult population. Its frequency is said to be higher in women and increases with age. Being unemployed, living alone or suffering from a chronic somatic illness (cardiovascular disease, pain, etc.) are additional risk factors for insomnia. According to certain data, people suffering from anxiety or depression are 7 to 10 times more likely to suffer from chronic insomnia than others.

S2 week 2 Diseases
Let's see how interesting you can make this. Pick a disease or talk about them in general or their cure or anything else you want.
Re: S2 week 2 Diseases
I'm going to tell you about a very strange disease called hypertrichosis. It is not necessarily very painful, but it is one of the most "disabling". Subjects who suffer from strong, literally invasive hair.
Caused by hormonal imbalance, genetic factors or the price of certain drugs, this condition can affect women as much as men. This disease is also called werewolf syndrome.

Re: S2 week 2 Diseases
We all have an idea of disease like medecin activity, hospital place or drugs. That why I want to talk about others type of sickness, most of them unknow as disease by people.
There is a lot of example like narcissistic, selfishness. Thoses syndromes are a type of diseases, not with your anatomy or your immune system, but with your brain. The brain is an organ of your body and if you don't cure it, the sickness will develop itself and you will decome a bad person in this comunity, like a virus.
Well I want to talk about the laziness, "la flemme" in new french dictionary. This syndrome is not identified as disease yet but I think it will be. A person affected by a real laziness can't do anything, it is just impossible for him and he need a real cure to fight it.

With this theme I want to talk about childhood cancer, it's a cause take me to heart. Cancer is the first reason of the children death in France and in Europe. The most common type of cancer diagnosed in children between 0 and 14 years are leukemias, brain and central nervous tumor tumors. For fight this diseaes children need many very heavy treatment for their little bodies like surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, and stem cell transplant.
In France they exists a famous association which fights against its childhood diseases "Imagine for Margo", by proposing races in order to collect money to allow the cure of many children and their well being.

Re: S2 week 2 Diseases
As I talked with some of us I found that ebola is one of the first result we've got when we are looking for gif about disease.
Why this sickness is unfortunately famous
Probably cause in 2014 & 2015 in West Africa it makes 39,5 % deads. A tragic event due to a "single-stranded RNA virus of negative polarity". This tiny monster could be share only inside human fluid.
At the end of 2016 a scientist found a solution, then a vaccination campaign could be organised in West Africa during 2017.

There are a lot of diseases and the scientist still find many degreeees. With this important number, not every have solutions. I choose to talk about cancer because it's the most famous and it's important for me. This diseases can is in every people, at many diffferent old : children, adult people, or older people... Cancer has a lot of different forms and localisation so it's very difficult to treat. It's a real problem today in society. Fortunatly, a few of solutions beegins to find.

This week we're going to talk about diseases.
I will talk in particular about vaccines. The vaccine is an injecting of a low dose of a disease to make the antibodies specific to that disease and this prevent it from developing. Many diseases have disappeared thanks to vaccines, such as "the plague" for example.

Epilepsy is a handicap who also considirated like a desease because she can lead crises. This crises are recognized by convulsions or even motor spasm. Epilepsy seriously damages people's health but also their social link.

I had a STAPS student who had an epileptic fit in the classroom a couple of years ago. Sadly it's not the first time this has happened during my career so we handled it quietly. The amazing thing was that the student spoke good English during her convulsion - better than she normally did in class.
Re: S2 week 2 Diseases
Disease is inevitable for anyone. However, some can be more serious than others and sometimes even fatal. Personally, I will talk about a very little known disease: "Bigorexia". This disease is an addiction to sport or physical activity and is a behavioral addiction. This addiction can cause many problems, among them, reckless risk-taking (Iron-man always harder and longer) or a constant obsession with playing sports. Personally, and very fortunately, I think that I have not yet reached this stage!

This Week, I chose to speak about Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer disease is a neurodegenerative disease that causes memory loss. The first symptoms are most often the loss of memories. However, the oldest memories are relatively preserved. The causes of Alzheimer’s disease are not yet elucidated, with the exception of 1 to 5% of cases of Alzheimer’s caused by certain clearly identified genetic abnormalities.

TOPIC : Diseases
There are so many diseases, some more dangerous, others less. its is not just physiological, this can be psychological too. Diseases that have a impact in our organism (ex: like heart , lungs, etc ) can be transmi by parents to their childrens (hereditary), sexual transmissible, or just common diseas like gastro or flu. Studies are did for heal the diseases that we can't heal until now like the cancer or other's who ruined lifes. And others problem is discovered like the immunitary of bacteries with antibiotiques.
But the most important its that science evolve in the time, and more lifes can be save

I'm going to talk to you about a disease that I have currently had since the age of 14 because of too big growth in one shot because I gained between 10 and 15 cm in 1 year. I got this disease because it is hereditary and because I was doing too much sport for my age. This disease is called "osgood schlatter disease". It is a pathology that affects the knee joint. It is a disease that cures 98% with rest and by reducing sport. But it is possible that it does not heal and that one is obliged to make infiltrations or even to see an operation so that it heals or that one avoids having pains.

Re: S2 week 2 Diseases
During the various interventions on which I was able to intervene as firefighters I was able to discover a variety of diseases with their drawbacks, this allowed me to step back and not have to prejudge.
So I decided to talk about a known but devastating disease that I could see during intervention but also in my family, cystic fibrosis
This disease is a genetic disease that affects the respiratory and digestive tracts.
It is a fatal disease which despite the treatments will lead to death, with the years life expectancy has increased in forty years we went from twenty years to forty five years that remains little
It is a disease that requires more or less complicated treatments, such as respiratory physiotherapy, which is painful.
In the case of my cousin despite this illness which complicates his daily life and that he can only move in a wheelchair, he has traveled around the world in order to pass on his knowledge because he is a teacher-researcher.
With the firefighters we take care of a young girl with this disease and by talking about the situation of their daughters with the parents we realize the difficulties that this disease brings on a daily basis.

My son had the same. Ruined his great basketball career
Re: S2 week 2 Diseases
No one is interested in this topic but let's pretend . So I was sick last week ! ( hope It count ). I don't know what I had.. Some fever and headache. Oh well It doesn't interest either. Uhmm.. I'm going to run out of idea. Maybe I can say few words around a monstrous disease... Hyperopia ( or hypermetropia ) is a common vision problem, affecting about a fourth of the population. This thing make you blind if you need a big correction and you don't wear glasses. I'm the only one on our class that wear glasses permanently. FeelsBadMan

Re: S2 week 2 Diseases
I'm going to tell you about one of the deadliest diseases in France, it is called cerebrovascular accident and is characterized by abrupt cessation of blood supply to the brain which results in oxygen deprivation in the affected brain areas.
It is a medical emergency which can be fatal. In half of the cases, it causes sequelae that are all the more disabling as the treatment will have been carried out late.
Stroke is the leading cause of acquired disability in adults, the second cause of dementia after Alzheimer's disease and the third cause of death in France.

Re: S2 week 2 Diseases
For the topics of this week i want to speak about the other side of diseases like the reeducation, the life who can be change after an important problem of health. In fact i want to tell you Everything that this topic evoked for me.
First i can say that we have a lot of chance because in france we’re very protected for the diseases because we have the « social security » who help us if we need care. It’s not the same thing in many country, even in america when it’s a big country.
Secondly, important diseases were hard for people who have them but also for the friend or family etc because they see the health of their friend or child etc who is very difficult.

There are evrything disease, more contagious and not contagious. For exemple, we can be see chickenpox, this disease begin when we had children. But there are two different way to chikenpox, little when we are children and little when we are adulte. And hard when we are children and in this case we never again have this desease.

Re: S2 week 2 Diseases
I'm going to talk about an illness that I already had. Lyme disease. This disease is transmitted by a tick bite, and affects humans like many animals. Dear me, my parents saw that I had it due to partial facial paralysis. On the left side I closed the eye more completely to sleep. To cure this disease I took antibiotics for several weeks. However, I was lucky that the disease was treated in time. Because it can become dangerous and even fatal. It is especially in the United States that there are the most people affected by this disease, and weary some have lifelong treatments. Fortunately now I am being treated and normally I have no more problems with this disease.
