Re: Week 2 Group 1
Hi guys,
So this week we going to speak about food
I'm not a good cook, so when i'm home alone, i only eat basic food like pasta or steak..
My mother cooked so well that i never used to cooking or learn how to cook.
If i read a recipe on internet i can succeed to cook a nice plate, but i sometimes have the feeling to waste my time, preparation is far too long and
can be complicated.
But, in spite of my bad levels of cook, i love eat all type of food, especially indian food. I fell in love with this type of food during a travel in india. I love Curry and meals including chicken
I pass a message on this forum : I search somebody who is ready to teach me how to cook, because my mother cannot cook for me all my life ...
Thank you advance

Re: Week 2 Group 1
Hi guys!!
I'm super excited to talk about food this week because I LOVE food sooo much!! Sometimes I'm annoying with my friends because I'm a real food talker!
To start, I like almost everything except ( brussels sprouts and hachi parmentier). As a french girl of course I love french food but I also like Japanese food. I discovered Japanese Food when I was in NZ, I already cooked sushis and makis (it's easier to cook as you think). I would like to try to cook Takoyaki because it is one of the thing that I've loved the most. Takoyaki is Japanese octopus balls.
To answer to Eudes about Indian food, personally I really hate Indian food. When I was living with my friend Emilie (who was working at a indian restaurant), sometimes she took back home some indian food then I ate too much that food which makes me spite.
About french food I really like blanquette de veau, coq au vin, tartiflette, raclette. I'm a big fan of cheese especially goat cheese (I'm coming from the land of Chabichou) so I like every meals that made with cheese like salad with goat cheese and honey.
Eudes to answer to your post (I saw that you're searching someone to teach you how to cook) so I'm willing to help you on your request because I'm THE famous cooker of the world

I love Brussel Sprouts. when cooked properly they have a multi-taste finishing with a mustard centre. One of my favourite foods.
I didn't know octopus had balls.
Eudes kerching!

Hey !
I love the topic of this week, food is the best thing ever in the world
Like Maelys I like almost everything in food, BUT I ate white pudding (boudin blanc)
My favorite food is the Italian food : pizza (with honey and goat's cheese), bruschetta, mozzarella and of course pasta alla carbonaraaaaaaaaaa !
I also love to eat in Spain because everywhere in this country when you take a drink in a bar, they offer you tapas, and because I'm a food lover AND a drink lover, it's perfect !!
About French food, my favorite dish is RACLETTE ! By the way, it's the perfect season to eat raclette, we could organize a raclette party
Eudes, if you want I cook very well, I can teach you, I'm sure that I cook better than Maelys ehehehe

Wouah...! I totally agree with you guys
Food is Life
But sorry Eudes, I agree with maelys, I hate Indian food specially when it's spicy ; But if you know a recipe without spices, maybe it taste good..!
Like you a bad cooker, I don't know, if I'll wish to eat you preparation
About me, I'm not difficult in food, I'll eat all food without spices. But I have my delicious weakness : I Love P-O-T-A-T-O-S, oh god..!
(I'm exaggerating a little).
By the way, Clémence, for the raclette party, it's a good idea, I approve..!
Ah and sorry Eudes, but I'm not good to teach how to cook..!

Hey guys !
"Food"... Hum, hum... Finally, an interesting topic !! I totally agree with you Gwenaelle : Food is Life!
Like Clemence, I do love italian food. Pizza, pastas etc... Oily and tasty !
I also like Japanese food : sushis and makis mainly. Actually, I think that I'm not a difficult woman (just concerning food... :p ) when it comes talking about it. Maybe one thing : my stomach just doesn't accept spicy food..., so I'm not particularly attracted to Indian, Mexican, or African food.
I'm not a really good cook (Sorry Eudes, "Cooking Mama" games taught me nothing when I was a child... what a shame!) but I'm really greedy and I often cook sweet recipes, like cakes, brownies, cookies...
Clémence : YEEESSSS DEFINITELY ! We NEED to do a raclette party ASAP !
I don't know if you have already try it, but I'd like to discover molecular food. It seems weird and tasteless but it intrigues me a lot !

Re: Week 2 Group 1
As I see, despite of the nationality, food is love everywhere in the world
In Brazil, we eat pretty well and the dishes are great and cheap, compared to most countries. There are a lot of fruits, vegetables and meat to try and love! So if you ever go to South America, just know you're going to gain some extra pounds.
But personally I love pastries. I love it so much that I took a 6-month course in my hometown to learn how to cook it professionally. I can't compare it with french pastries, because here they are awesome, but still I learn a lot of techniques to do it well enough. So I'm good in preparing deserts and stuff, but not very great in main dishes. I usually stick to the basics (sorry, can't help much here, Eudes).
I still don't know a lot about french food, and I'm not really sure what raclette means, but it seems delicious on the internet, so I'm in!

Re: Week 2 Group 1
hiii,
very interesting subject, we can debate for hours!
For me the food is very important, I like to cook as much as to go to restaurants. The restaurants are an interesting way to discover new flavors of the countries of the world. I had to test a lot of differents foods, and I love them almost all. But now I like to try to cook its food from all around the world, and some foods are easy to make and more economical!
For a French, what I hate the most is the cheese..
For me molecular food does not attract me at all, it does not look like real food, and there is not enough quantity

Re: Week 2 Group 1
I totally agree with you Virginie ! I love trying new restaurants to discover different flavors, recipes... and sometimes that's help me to test new dishes. Also, the videos on the social networks show how to cook a lot of things easily !
For example : https://i.servimg.com/u/f11/19/78/10/79/22054512.jpg
I did this yesterday, on the right you can see guacamole (I love it as much as I love my friends) and on the other side I've halved an avocado, and instead of the stone, I've broken 2 eggs in, et on the top I've put bacon and fresh cheese ! Before eating, I've put it in the oven for 20 minutes. That's was delicious, but now I can say that I prefer cold avocado.
Also, I love sushi, maki, and more generally asian food. My mother loves to cook, she does nems like nobody, they are so D E L I C I O U S
And obviously, can't wait for the raclette party !!

Hi everybody,
For me, it's more French food and Italian specialties like you Clémence ! In fact, my favorite dishes are lasagne, pasta and pizzas. But I really can't do without the veal blanquette prepared by my mother (I think it is the best in the world).
Otherwise, by reading your comments, I saw that you haven't much talked about pastry and desserts and to tell the truth, that's what I prefer. I think I can feed exclusively sweet but it seems that it is not really good for health... But my father is a baker and pastry chef so it's been 19 years since I enjoy every day of what he is preparing (I think I am making enemies). It specialty is the lemon meringue pie, it is a marvel. I am also a big addict of chocolate in all its forms: tablets, chocolate fondue with fruits, chocolate cakes. It's a drug...

Hi! I've seen you talked about Indian food, I never tried to eat it but many of you seem don't like it Like Florine, I love Italian food and especially pasta, you can cook it in so many different ways! In general, I like almost everything. Unlike a lot of people I love spinach, but like many of you I LOVE raclette and tartiflette more than anything! I could eat it at any time of the year! I also like to do cakes for my friends and my family, it makes me happy

Re: Week 2 Group 1
Hi guyyyys !
Personnaly, I'm sorry but the food isn't very important to me...
I think it's because I'm a little complicated...
However, I have to talk about food so...
Concerning Indian food, it's not my cup of tea... I don't like curry... Also, I love french food like raclette and tartiflette, I like duck breast fillet with potatoes !! I agree with you Gwenaelle, the potatoes are soooo good !!
I like as Clemence the Italian food... Pizzas is my life... It's the only food that I could eat everyday My favourite pizza is goat's cheese and honey !
CHEESE ! I love cheese like you Maylis ! I put cheese in all dishes (Pasta, pizzas, sandwichs, burgers, salads...). I'm used to eat cheese with cherry jam ! So goood !
Otherwise, I like chinese food (nems, samossa...). What I like, is to put spicy sauce in the chinese's noodles ! MIAM ! I couldn't eat spicy food like you Celine, because I have the same problem... My stomach doesn't accept spicy food (mexicain, oriental, african...) BUT I can't avoid this kind of food... I love it so much !
Florine : I'm so sorry but I don't really like pastry, desserts and the chocolate... Yes I know, I don't like the chocolat, I'm very creepy........ Except some cakes (sometimes)... But I'm sure, if I try the desserts that your father prepare I will reconcile me with the sugar food
To finish, I don't eat a lot vegetables, it's because I think I don't know how to cook them... Sorry Eudes, but I can't help you... And for fruits, it's occasional !
AND I can’t wait for the raclette party !!!

Re: Week 2 Group 1
Eudes, I think you get on well with my roommates (4boys...), I have the kings of frozen meals at home! Sometimes when I'm in a good mone, I share with them my wonderful Creamy Chicken Korma with Basmati Rice! (But under some conditions like: Wash my dishes )
But no worries, I was the same 2 years ago! (I was a hard worker so no time to cook, but now food is my priority!)
As Virginie, I like go in restaurants because it's a good way to discover new flavours or to reconcile yourself with a food that you aren't used to eating! (like roasted bone marrow ) Anyway, in a cooples of day, I will participate in a training with a chief cook gastronome in Angoulême city! I'm so hurry about that! It's a great opportunity proposed by the CROUS of Poitiers in order to test meals in university restaurants in the next weeks, if my profile is selected (I hope so!)
I've already heard about Florine's daddy lemon meringue pies, but my favorit dessert is cheese cake with caramel salted butter!

Hello Guys,
Eude, i don't really like to cook for myself, but for my friends, I LOVE cooking, maybe you should do that to learn cooking, try new things !
I like eating, try new foods, new recipies whatever at home, when I travel or in a restaurant.
I think spicy food is quite good, I liked trying indian food!
I went in norway and I've tried dried reindeer... believe it or not, but it's tasty !! ^^
Well, I can almost eat everything, but there is few things which I really cannot eat ....mussels, salsify and oyster! Ugh!
Do you know the Truffade?? it's a very very good recipe from Auvergne! Guys, if you like pasta and cheese, you probably will like it !!

I love food, different type of food such as Japanese , Idian and French food!
I love cook and do pastry , my speciality is the meringue lemon tart !
