Re: Week 3 group 2 Music
1973 - Music and theatre, clever lyrics and intelligent mind provoking sounds. It was all downhill after this:
Re: Week 3 group 2 Music
hello everyone.
I remember that when I was in the primary school, I bought a tape driver for the English listening comprehension. At that time, everyone in our class must listen to the cassette of our textbook as our everyday's homework after the class. Very occasionally, my friend gave me a musical cassette and I listened to it. That time the occidental culture was not so popular in China and before that I had never listened to a foreign music, I had no idea about the music either had any preference, simply that my father played the music whatever the type, normally it was about mother's love, father's love or some music sang in the Chinese classical way, I would always stay there and listened to it. I remember which in the cassette there was a song called Rhythm of the rain, I listened over 100 times!
And when I was 15 I received an ipod from my parents as my birthday present. Since that time I began to choice the music. I was crazy about the song's of Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera, and...Justin Bieber...Taylor Swift...Don't laugh at me,Who...doesn't have the young times!
After the high school, I began to watch the Japanese animation(not NARUTO, not Conan). I discovered that many music(opening and ending) in the animation were so nice. I don't know whether the Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day was popular in France or not, but I think that it is a real classical animation to me, otherwise its music is touching. Besides I listen to the J-pop. My favorite J-pop band is X-Japan(X-Japan is also a rock band).
Otherwise Mika Nakashima has also a song which touched me a lot, its name is “once I wanted ending my life”(Boku ga Shinou to Omotta no Wa), it talks about the desperation and the hope in life.
When I was in the university in China, also I loved the rock, the hardcore, the goth, the metal...Yes, I love Manson. But my favorite song was "Eat the children" by OTEP. Perhaps that it sung by a female and it is more powerful
Now, I prefer to the world music. The first time I know it was in a concert in our university. That concert was organized by Alliance Française of Jinan and I was quite moved by all the musicians. My favorite musician in China is HAYA Band, not so famous, but their songs are so wonderful.
So I talked a lot about the music. Is someone love the same singer or band with me? Or what's your favorite singer?

Re: Week 3 group 2 Music
For a quick response, i would say that i like discovering new types of music. During summer 2016, i discovered Future House Music ( not everyone's cup of tea) and earlier, electro posé and deep house but not my favorites.
When i was younger, my father used to make me listen to Scorpion, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen etc... but the band i remeber the most is Scorpion (my fisrt MP3 CD ! of their most popular musics). Ok, i'll come back to share with you all my favorite types of music.
Have a good one.

Re: Week 3 group 2 Music
I think I like all the types of music, it depends what kind of mood I am, I can listen, David Bowie, Beethoven, Nicolas Jaar, Jacques Brel and Drake on the same day.
But actually, I love french electro group music as Polo & Pan, The Blaze, The Do and La Fine Equipe. Someone knows these groups?
I think in France we do very good music (french touch), but with the radio and television we don't give a chance to a good talent, that's why we can hear on the radio different kind of music very (very) bad like "Comportement" (bah ouais...) or "Maitre Gîms" etc... (It is just my opinion! )

Hey Tian I will not laugh at you because when I received my first Ipod (at 11 years old) I just gave it to my two brothers, who have each other differents music style, to add their musics because I didn't know what to listen at that time. On the one hand, there were pop, electro, punk, rock, reggaeton, etc and on the other hand, j-pop and lots of anime's songs !
Then I discovered the manga univers ! People can say that I'm weird because I like Hatsune Miku.

Haha MIKU is also popular in China! People think which is so weird because she's fictitious, but to us young people, MIKU is so charming and she “sings” so goodAurélie Yee wrote:Hey Tian I will not laugh at you because when I received my first Ipod (at 11 years old) I just gave it to my two brothers, who have each other differents music style, to add their musics because I didn't know what to listen at that time. Re: Week 3 group 2 Music
Hi every body !
Like Tom, I think I like all the types of music : all musics are interesting. Each music or music group have their own universe/word.
In fact, I don't listen lot of music : I can't listen music when I study or when I have to concentrate on something. Moreover, I don't subscribe to Spotify or this kind of application,...I know I am weird !...(Remember, I don't have facebook !...just an archaic mobile phone with a valve !)
But I listen to the radio every day : I hear wonderful music every day...but..just a problem : I am incapable to remember what I heard ! I don't retain the title or the artist.
By the way, I am listenning "La marche de l'histoire" on France inter : They are broadcasting "Mrs Robinson", I love this song ! That remind me of "Le Laureat" film with Dustin Hoffman !

I've never heard of any of those, Zhekun, but I liked the sound of x-Japan which reminded me of a goup I did see in concert called Japan with the amazing bass of Mick Karn (who sadly is now dead) and the incredible voice of David Sylvian:
Re: Week 3 group 2 Music
As Tom I listen to a lot of music style :')
When I was in middle school I listened only pop rock music (more rock actually, Green Day my fav) but for a few years I listen more and more electro music, and a lot of others music style, - even rap that I never listened when I was younger - but only some french rappers (rilès <3)
Throwback to the electro music, I think the best are the Dutch (Martin Garrix, Axwell /\ Ingrosso, Don Diablo, Tiesto, Hardwell and much much more) (okay, the best of all Avicii isn't Dutch but Swedish but I pardon him). We're not too bad in France too with big DJ worlwide known, and even smaller DJ like Kungs and Petit biscuit who are crazy

Team Bowie of course ! My favourite is Let's dance ! When you're listening to it, you can't just standing ! You really need to move your body
But as many of you, I love different kind of music !
One of my favourite band is Alt-j ! I don't know if some of you know this band. I saw them at the Vieilles Charrues festival ! It was so cool !
An another band that I saw in festival is Bombay Bicycle Club, it's pop music. They really deserve to be better known (in my opinion) !
Do you guys prefer to listening to live music like in concert, in festival or to recorded music alone with your headphones ?

Re: Week 3 group 2 Music
Hi everybody !
Music ? What a great topic ! I love listening music everyday in my flat, especially when Im taking a shower (I can sing as well eheh) I love different kind of music... And I use to listen my music on Spotify. It is really nice to discover new great songs. There are hundreds of playlists created by the website and others users. Tom I also like French electro, there are pretty good. Check out the "French touch" playlist on Spotify (maybe you already know). Morgane, I really like Alt-J !! I've already been to Vieilles Charrues (bzh is the best) but I didn't see them... In 2014, I remeber that I saw Franz Ferdinand and Artic Monkeys, it was incredible. By the way I love festivals, it's the opportunity to see so much artists in one day and it's not too expensive. I prefer festivals where there are different kind of music, it's better to discover new groups. So yes Morgane I like listening musics in headphones when Im waiting somwhere or in the bus for example but you can't compare it whith real music in a festival.
And I forgot, don't judge me but I like Céline Dion. ''I'm aliiiive''

Re: Week 3 group 2 Music
Hello guys, is pleasant to see this sharing of the different musics !
Nolwenn, I like Mirlene Farmer, his soft voice seduiced when I am 6-7 years old.^^
And Zhecun i love the famous music of Manson "Sweet dreams"
Morgan, I like to be in the concerts and festivals, we live the music at this moment and it create a strong link with the group or the singer.
Moreover, I like listen music on spotify or youtube to surch the novelties, to watch the videos and discover musics and original videos (like that of Katy Perry “Swich swich”).
Rap US and hip hop is one of my favorite style of music because the instrumental are both calm and well rythmic. However I d’ont like very much the lyrics when its becomes sexist, promotes drogs, violence..
Rappers and sounds :
-rae sremmurd and swae lee « Swang », « Black beattles », « No type »
-twenty one pilots
- Kyle « ispy »
-The Classics : KiD CuDi, Eminem, 50 cents
The french rappers Oli and Bigflo and Rilès. They are complete rappers, the lyrics and instrumentals are on top.
If you like the music and to have some very good references^^ watch this link : http://musiclib.fr/

FUTURE HOUSE MUSIC
My_NUMBA#1 TYPE OF MUSIC
FUTURE HOUSE = It mixes so much sounds but the result is mesmerizing and sometimes mind blowing.
Maybe i listen to it because it talks to my feelings and even make my feelings shift to something more positive. I don't know an other genra of music thats capable of such a thing, the other types of music i like are producing a lower effect on my moods, so the more it's creative and festive, the more it gives me the desire to dance. If i don't dance it's either because i like it a lot but not in the mood to dance or because i just don't feel it.
Future House is the type of music i listen to when i work (when i create), and when i want to know my deep feelings. I think future house has the power to make me imagine myself living great moments, and it feels so good to me to enter this dimension with music.
Future House is the type of music i listen to when i work (when i create), and when i want to know my deep feelings. I think future house has the power to make me imagine myself living great moments, and it feels so good to me to enter this dimension with music.
But how did i know about Future House ?
[justify]It firstly began in the Summer 2015. I discovered Deep House on YouTube (as it was used for a video outro of a YouTuber).
The artist was ''King Lion Deep House Official'' on YouTube (1k subscribers ATM), the sound, the rhythm were very catchy because they sounded so ''alive'' to me. Some people don't like when electronic music gets a little violent or dirty, but when i was fisrt introduced to Deep House, i associated it with bodybuilding (yeah that's my brain, don't mind it and strenght. The other reason i kept listening to Deep House was the fact that i was searching for a type of music to listen all the time, a music to consume for myself.
I just want to point out that before Deep House, i knew about House Music, Electro, Metal, Music of the World, US pop (a little) and Rock as i said in my last post about Music.
So i finally found a type of music de digg into and try to love it.
And the day came when i first dicovered the characteristic sound of Future House (kinda ''metallic'' as Future House fans say, also there is synthetic piano). My Internet Browser was full of Future House Bookmarks on YouTube !
Then I wanted to know who the Future House leading artists in the world were: Tchami, Curbi, Oliver Heldens, Don Diablo and others who experimented Future House (Avicii, Martin Solveg...). But my 2017 favorite is Don Diablo and his label : HEXAGON. There is so much hope and love in his musics. The Tomorrowland Festival was also a great way to discover new talents, so during Summer 2015 et 2016 i listened it LIVE on YouTube. What a great experience to live ! (an other day...one day I'll go there).
I perfected my Future House tastes and i am searching for very well engineered/crafted/produced musics. I kinda like that, since 2010, Future House never stopped its evolution. https://youtu.be/x8UehbabvX8?t=115 would be a perfect example of a very good Future House track.
There are Future House Bangers that i selected to share my tastes with you : https://pastebin.com/3Ycvy4zD
(it will open a list of future house tracks, titles only, that you got to search on YouTube to listen to them). If you notice, i really like Future House remixes of popular songs i know about, it's my attempt to keep in touch with mainstream music. I selected them according to the "drop" part of the music.
There is also a popular dancing style associated with Future House, it's : Cutting Shapes. An other great part of the Future House Universe !
I also like trying to guess the original song that was remixed or put into an hour mix.
That was for my favorite music type but i'm opened to all music styles because i felt that only listening to one type of music was not very culturaly rewarding.
I think people don't like Future House when there is too much contrast between the BASS and the rest. They may find it too messy, too experimental.
What i don't like is BIGROOM. Sorry, Too Noisy For Me.

Re: Week 3 group 2 Music
My favorite style of music is anything upbeat (almost K-Pop). When I am sad or tired, I listen to upbeat music, and then I feel better. Also, I like to listen to upbeat music whenever I go somewhere or take a walk. When I listen to music, my ears are enjoying, and I think the time passes quickly as well. Some music can be very comforting.
I’m very interested in O.S.T. music well known of the movies or the TV drama. When I see the movie, I should check out the movie’s soundtrack too. Because feeling of the movie comes to mind by the music. And very often, the soundtrack really added to the movie. So, I think soundtrack’s role is very important and I love it. For example, the old music except k-pop, All you need is love – Love Actually, Falling Slowly – Once, I will always love you – If Only, Way back into love – Music and Lyrics and more recently, City of Stars – La La Land.

Re: Week 3 group 2 Music
Hi guys !
I'm listening music almost every time, every day. That's a very important thing in my life.
Even if I can listen several kinds of music (like Classical or rap music), my lovely music genre is "EDM" (I hate this name but people knows this).
I wan to show you some different kind of music I like.
Firstly, the mainstream EDM
Calling by Ingrosso and Alesso : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9G1I16gJBvU
Pizza by Martin Garrix : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JsKIAO11q1Y
Reload by Ingrosso : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RySEZ34qqlQ (the instrumental version is wayyy better than the other version)
After, some technooo
Purge by Amelie Lens : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R15p4nFRRPc
Alpha (remix by Farrago) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YXRc2qN1cI (seen it in live and wow....)
Semper Fi by Lutzenkirchen : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-17AN3oyzV4
Finally, my favourite genre, hardstyle. This genre becoming bigger day after day. The mainstream DJ playing more and more these songs in their sets in festival such as Tommorowland or Ultra Music Festival
Destiny by Headhunterz (my idol <3) : https://youtu.be/3skZxOjrJ9c?t=3m29s (this is the Endshow of the Defqon1, the biggest hardstyle festival in the world, check it out, this is awesome)
LSD (Love, Sadness, Desire) by Brennan Heart : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9u25gEePy8
Inception by Audiotricz : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqNsZ0pTRxU
Imaginary by Brennan Heart : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9I-9Sj4sKs
I know that Hardstyle is a bit weird for some people and I can understand haha
