Week 6 group 2 - Travel or Regions
With so many of you deserting me for Erasmus this could be the place for scary stories about travel or maybe you just want to tell us where you've been or where you'd really love to go. Alternatively you can tell me all about your region and maybe I'll travel there next summer.
Re: Week 6 group 2 - Travel or Regions
Hello ! Yes that is so sad we'll be 5 in the group next semester...
So this week we have to talk about travel even if I prefer talk about my region.
As you know, I am from the best French region, BRITTANY. If you never been there you should do it as soon as possible. This is a place full of culture. You will say that is a region full of rain but in Brittany we say that it rains only on dumb people.
Do you think this picture was taken in Brittany ??
OF COURSE YES ! This picture is from Google Images but also from Crozon in Finistère, the edge of the region. This landscape always surprised me ! It looks like French Rivera. Less tanned stupid tourist. You should know that in Brittany people are welcoming and helpful (sometimes drunk). So come there visiting us
Stop talking about France. About travel I'm really attracted bu South America. I love speaking Spanish and the Latin culture. In the future, I would like to go around Latin America and visit all the countries. One of my dream is going to see the Machu Picchu in Peru and going to Ushuaia in the South of Argentina. If I become rich maybe I could go to Asia ? I've never been there and the landscapes seems nice. Have you ever been to Asia ?

Re: Week 6 group 2 - Travel or Regions
Hi everyone !
Indeed Nolwenn and Morgane, Britanny is the most beautiful region in France (Britany > Ile-de-France, cc Amarande) !! I'm from "Finistère", the best department in Britanny !
(Is my home )
I love travelling, I think in France there are so many things to see, but I like to discover a new country. My favorite travels that I preferred are in Amsterdam, Montreal, and Iceland.
My last travel was in Iceland, we did a road trip with my friend in a Jeep, it was so good, this country is amazing, there are so many landscapes different to see.
And what about you? What is your favorite country?

Re: Week 6 group 2 - Travel or Regions
I don't know if I should talk about the greatest region in France (Savoy + High-Savoy), or about my second heart-country, Norway...
So I'm going to do both!
Why Savoy and High-Savoy ? (seriously?)
==> Raclette, fondue, pierrade, pieclette, tomme (and so more)
==> Annecy is one of the most beautiful cities in France, Evian is one of the best mineral waters in the world, we have the Mont-Blanc, we have so much beautiful mountains, we have beautiful lakes (Annecy, Aiguebelette, Le Bourget, ...)
==> Winter as summer, always something to do, always a beautiful place to go and to enjoy
==> Swiss is not so far to hide your money
And now, let's talk about Norway!
I did one semester in Erasmus in Bergen. I did two roadtrips there, the first at spring (three weeks) and the second at summer (one week).
It's a very beautiful country. Fjords, seas, oceans, nothern lights... Tons of natural masterpieces!
People are really kind, benevolent. You can ask people in the street, they will always stop their walk to answer and to help you.
But, photos will be more performing than me to show you this country.
500px (link) ==> this link is my 500px profile, where I published some of my best photos of Norway (and some others, but everything about location is in photos' descriptions).
This country is really expensive to live (about +20% compared to France, and +40% for alcohol), but it worth it.

It seems very good, I think I'll visit this country next semester because I will be in Estonia for Erasmus and it's not far

There'll be new groups for the second semester. Possibly by level so that we can target the work more easily. 10 or 11 in each. It'll be fun.

About your beach I love Atlantic coast, is the best ! Long sand beaches with enough space for everybody. I hate Mediterranean beaches, you have to deal with 1 square meter to put your towel.

Breizh power !
Hi everybody !
I agree with you, Nolwenn, Morgane and Tom !
I am from Bordeaux and I was born in Bordeaux, but as we can guess "Le Moullec"... is from ... Brittany !
My father's family is from Cotes d'Armor, North of Brittany,... ok ... sometimes it's raining ... but like Nolwenn said " in Brittany we say that it rains only on dumb people". !
Moreover, I live in Bordeaux since more than 20 years, I can assure you that in Bordeaux, IT'S RAINS regularly !
My grand-mother's city ! Pleubian
With my father, we used to go to Plougescant beach ! It was a special beach with no sand !
When I was 10, I loved to go to Plougrescant because I don't like sand, it's irritating (my poor sensitive skin !). The beach is only made of rocks and stones !
With my father, I wanted to climb all big rocks I saw !
In Plougrescant, there was a strange house, it was alone on the stone beach ; it was built between 2 enormous rocks ! I have to confess to you ... that I dreamed to live in !
But, like Nolwenn, I dream to discover all country of South America ! I love spanish language and latin culture !
Otherwise, I am so jealous of Tom ! I quote : "My last travel was in Iceland, we did a road trip with my friend in a Jeep, it was so good, this country is amazing, there are so many landscapes different to see."
I had the same kind of proposal with 2 friends to go to Iceland, but I am so sad, it has never been done...
Moreover, with homeworks or summary mandatory traineeship, I don't have time to travel....

Re: Week 6 group 2 - Travel or Regions
I’ve never been in Brittany, But It looks very nice and interesting. I hope to visit that place, maybe for my next trip.
Since I am in France, I traveled in French regions like Aquitaine, the Pays Basque, Alsace, Côte d’Azur and Paris. I’ve been to Germany, Swiss and Spain to see other European countries.
During my first year in France, I’ve seen milk cow on the side of road when I camped out in Spain. It surprised me, it is a good memory.
If you want to travel to Korea, I’d like to recommend the city of Busan where I studied my bachelor and I have a lot of memories there.
Busan is a second large city and the first sea port in Korea. There is a lot of beaches like Haewoondae. Busan have the biggest beach and is the hottest place in Korea. So, many tourists visit it. During the summer ,visitors from the Korea and other countries line up on the sea shore and make grand sight of Haewoondae.
Of course Haewoondae is not the only famous place in Busan. The ships that are coming in and out to the Busan harbor have to pass the Ohryukdo, so it became a symbol of Busan. Also there is a lot of sea foods available ina lot of sea food markets like ‘Jagalchi market’. When you go there, it smells really good and it feels like the scent of Busan.
Busan International Film Festival is one of the most important in Asia, it presents most famous Asian films. It takes place in a Busan cinema called Dureaum and a lot of Hollywood stars come each year.

impressive picture. I'm just shell shocked from all the apartment blocks. I could never live in an apartment, stacked on top and below others.
Re: Week 6 group 2 - Travel or Regions
So much brittany guys in the class ! Invaders !
I traveled a lot in France, especially in the East Coast, Aix en Provence for example is a lovely city and I loved it! I was going there in my friend's home and it was just amazing, the sun, the beach...
This summer, in August I went in Italy with two friends. I went in Milano I saw the impressive Duomo cathedral and after we went to the lake in Como. After, we decided to go to Venezia. I know it is kind of cliché but I think its completely the city of love! Venezia is so romantic. We saw the Rialto, San Marco cathedral... We decided to go to the island around. We went to Murano, the speciality is the Murano glass. After we went to Burano, an old fishing town. Burano was my favorite, so much colors and good vibes. Food was an important part of our trip haha. Pizzas and pastas was amazing. I joined you some pictures!! enjoy! I would like to visit the south of Italy ! Maybe one day!

Hi everyone !
I travelled in a lot of European countries but for training in kayak, with my training pole so I didn't really visit where I was :/ So now I want to travel to visit countries. Of course like a lot of people I'd like to go far away from France, USA, Australia etc., but what I want to see the most are european countries, the Netherlands, Croatia and Greece ! I already know that I'm gonna go in the Netherlands this summer, cause I can't go there for my erasmus programm :/ So it's sure, I'll go there with friends in july or august !
And for the 2nd semester, I'm going to Roumania, I would probably never go there without the erasmus programm so it's the occasion to discover a very different country from France and I think it can surprise me a lot !

I LOVE ESSAOUIRA SO MUCH. I made a little portoflio about it
I went to Essaouira with my family during the 2016 summer holidays. I kept all the memories in the form of pictures and mini clips. What i liked about traveling here was the peacefull ambiance, the sound of the sea and the seagulls. The wind is everywhere in and around the city, that is why Essaouira is called the City of Wind.
We didn't try a good restaurant there because we were only passing by, but it was ok.
Just make sure you come during the summer, it's hotter !
I would like to visit the northwestern France, or study here (it may be better than Angougou) in term of landscapes.
But i don't like
Failling
Lying
Yelling
Impulsivity
Negligence
Global warming
Waist
Illegality
Taxes
Headaches
Chaos
Bleeding
Abandonment
Bronchitis
Influenza
Embarassment
Sadness

Re: Week 6 group 2 - Travel or Regions
YES there are a lot of breton in our class!
I haven't been in Brittany like Euhnae, but I have a friend and this autumn he invited me to visit there but we have so many courses and works this semester, I considered over and over again even I was going to Poitiers to meet my friends... So I hope that in the second semester I could travel in Brittany, because I heard about the scenery in there are so beautiful!
So when it comes to my region...I was born in a little town in Shouguang, Weifang, Shandong. The first word is my city(county level), the second word is the city of the prefecture level where my city is attached to, the third word is my province...(yes the administrative setting in China is so complicated)...As a famous agricultural province in China, there are about 100 million people...And my city, Shouguang is famous for its vegetables and vegetables' planting technologies. Every year, we hold a vegetables' exhibition to demonstrate the newest planting technologies...For the public, we go to the exhibition to see this:
It's very funny for someone who never see this...But for me, because that when I was young every year my parents took me to the exhibition and the vegetable sculpture never changed(in fact it changed every year), and the exhibition hall is too big so when I grow up I've never been there even the tickets is free to the citizens of Shouguang....
So Shouguang is a small city where there are 1 million habitation.
That's what the city looks like...In the middle it's the city's stadium, it's near to the river Mi. It's the mother river of our city like the Clain river to Poitier.
Along the river it's a beautiful park, and nearby there's a water park, when I was in college, my parents usually took me to that park in the summer, but since there are many water slides, and many kids(I don't like kids...), and it's far from my home, I prefer to go to the waterland park near by my town.
It's a natural park located in the town next to mine, quite beautiful and in the park there are also a waterpark, an amusement park and a small zoo...When I got boring in my home, usually I went there with my friends...There are also a park where I went often:
Linhai park(which means a sea of forest)
(My two stupid buddies in this park two years ago under the big tripod, photographer: me)
It's a park where there located a temple, every Chinese new year(Spring festival), many people drive to here and pray in the temple for that all their families could go well in the new year...
Finally, a picture of a dragon float to finish :DEvery Lantern festival there's a long festival procession in the street... The next Spring Festival, I still can't go home... A little sad

Re: Week 6 group 2 - Travel or Regions
Hi !!
Woah I just saw so many beautifull pictures and I want to travel in Island or Norway so much ! But the travel is expensive !
I went to Britain i keep good vibes of there . I had a travel in Paris with my family and my friends, i saw a lot of museums, monuments (Eiffel tower, the mosque of Paris) and theatre. The Cimetière du Père Lachaise is to see.
I don't travel much in the world : Corsica, Czech Republic and England. So i hope to do an erasmus to travel and have time to learn and share with foreign people.
I have the pleasure to tell you about the Czech Republic. I went on a school trip for 10 days. We went to the second largest country town, Brno. And on Saturday we went for a ride to the capital, Prague.
I had a correspondent with whom I spoke in English. But I communicated with his parents with signs that was funny, because they didn't speak english.
I have been to see several monuments, they are very ornamented, with yellow, red, blue colors and gold parts. I saw the famous astronomical clock of Prague.
I ate hard cheese with jam in a bar and it was succulent.
Celine, what did you like in the Czech Republic?

Wouah Eunhae, I really want to go in Korea! It’s so beautiful ! I already went in Japan but just two days, so next will be your country Eunhae! And I want to visit all different country of course!
I really love travelling, that’s why from Tahiti, I went to Manihi, Bora Bora, Huahine, Mau Piti, … lots of little islands in French Polynesia. I recommend you go and visit these beautiful islands with incredible landscapes, a traditional way of life and a generous population.
Here a view of Tahiti
Mataiva's lagoon
And a traditional meal when you're lost in this Island (Mataiva)
If you like water sport it will be for you ! There’re wakeboarding, surfing, the va’a, a Polynesian pirogue, kayaking, paddle boarding, etc.
Wakeborading time at the Tahiti's sunset !
Of course, I visited big countries like the USA, I went in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Mammoth Lakes where I were snowboarding for the first time. Then I went in Japan, Hong Kong, China, Australia and when I arrived in France, I had the opportunity to go in European countries like Spain, Germany, Italia and England (only in London). O.O Wouah it’s a little bit too much, isn’t it ! Ok I stop here

Re: Week 6 group 2 - Travel or Regions
Hi everyone,
I decide to talk about my trip in Vancouver (British-Columbia CANADA).
It was last may and I stayed 2 weeks.
I had a real crush with this city, and later, I would like to make my life in Vancouver.
People are so nice and kind. It's very easy to talk and socialize with them.
The climate is very good for Canada because the temperature in winter is not less than -5°.
You have a lot of choice for food and shopping.
Vancouver is also one of the city that fights the most against global warming.
If you walk on the city you have a lot of choice of square and lake with a lot of tree.
You can have a swim in pacific ocean during the summer, or practice boating, canoeing or kayaking.
If you prefer winter sports, Vancouver is very near to the mountains.
I really recommend to you to visit this amazing city !

Re: Week 6 group 2 - Travel or Regions
Hi !
I will present you my lovely region, the Bask Country (one part in Spain and one part in France).
It's in Bidart, a city next to my town, Bayonne
Bayonne is a really cute city, with no that much tourist (unlike Biarritz....). This city is well known for the "Fête de Bayonne", one of the biggest event of the world
As you can see, there is a lot of people during the 5 days (more than 1 million). The festival opens in ceremony at 10pm on a Wednesday night and has done since 1932. From then for 5 days until Sunday the whole town wears white with a red scarf and enjoys the party atmosphere. But years after years, the proportion of "strangers" (people living outside the Bask Country) increase and do anything during the festival (drink too much, fight etc.).
Finally, here is a traditionnal town which is one of the nicest town in the France (with awards etc.)

Ya, it is pasta at "cuttlefish ink" in french, "pâte à l'encre de seiche !" (black ink from a fish!)
Like Mister admin said it is a kind of squid (like that)
This kind of animal secretes black ink to protect himself from predator or dangerous situation !
It is used to colour naturally food !
