Re: What did you think of the last episod of...
Don't you watch Sherlock Gaelle?
There was further sad news this week when it was announced that Marco Polo is not going to be renewed for a third season. I loved it for it's historical story, strong acting and the most beautiful costumes I've ever seen in a TV series. apparently it's too expensive to renew. This is on the back of news that Longmire (a cowboy detective) won't be renewed after the 6th season and the end to another detective series I like called Ripper Street (end of the 18th century based drama) which at least had it's storylines ended unlike Marco Polo.
I enjoy British detective series so I'm happy that the 20th season of Silent Witness started last night and the new Endeavour series will begin in a few weeks.
There is also Grimm - Gaelle that's not on your calendar - new season starts this weekend.
I've also just started a crime/mystery drama called Fortitude that looks promising.
- Sherlock new series eps1:
- Sherlock has been a fantastic take on Conan Doyle's hero and it must take a lot to maintain the incredibly high standard of the seasons. This first episode I enjoyed but there was a little too much of Mrs.Watson for me - still there'll be less in the future . Hope this season can live up to my hopes

Grimm is written in that calendar on the 7th !
Tonight it's Bones for me
And I'm not watching Sherlock, maybe one day I'll put it on my list of "to watch" !

hahaha, I'm not the creator of that calendar, it's my website betaseries that creates it for me that's why you can read those funny things ^^
Without, that website I'll be lost, and I would have to search for infos like when a series is starting, when it's not renewed like sadly Mister Polo (RIP)...

The King is dead. Long live the king. One of my favourite characters in any TV series anytime has died. And he was great to the end. Going out on his own terms and proving the Gods don't exist. The Vikings saga is now handed onto Ivar the Boneless and Bjorn. With Lagatha killing Ivar's mother will he kill her or will he get her to join him to attack Britain? Wonderful and sad. A mention for Egbert who also played a strong role in these episodes.
NOOO I read your quote because I thought that I watched Ep 15 yesterday, but not yet. I've spoiled myself.
HAHAHA I'm sorry for you MisterStaps

- I know I'm late but I watch yesterday evening the last 3 episod of Vikings. So yes I'm sad that Ragnar is dead but actually I think it was too long (boring?) and I'd have prefer him to die in a fight than tortured by Aelle (mmh it's almost like Gaelle coincidence? I don't think so...)
I think like you Gaelle about the John Snow effect.
I also was afraid for Rollo, when he was under the boat.
And Ivar is not credible enough for me. He can be as angry as he want, he is still on the floor all the time and that is not good communication for a politician. He should be higher than his people.
And bleeding because you hold a toy?? what? maybe he has a baby skin.

- This is based on history and perhaps the most accurate portrayal of the Vikings ever made. Ragnar was a real leader, so I don't see a John Snow - come back to life - scenario. Ivar was a true viking leader - perhaps the most famous disabled leader of all time. He was vicious and boneless (not spineless) I think he'll be a pleasant contrast to Bjorn. BTW I've said it before but the actor who plays Rollo is from Leicester so being hauled around the keel is no problem. We're made special in Leicester.

John I think you just spoiled us in your answer! I knew it was based on real history event, but I didn't want to watch what really happened on wikipedia because I didn't wanted to be spoiled! I did the same for Victoria or The Tudors, I read the wikipedia story at the end of the show...
And I didn't know about the actor who played Rollo, I should have guessed!

It's not a spoil as I have no idea what happens in the series. I only know my history of viking myths. btw. I've only read Game of Thrones and in the last book Snow is dead - now you tell me he comes back to life
Actually I guessed that's what would happen. I just wish that George would get on with writing the books. Bad to know tha

Snow's story is a common knowledge, I won't believe you learn it just now by reading the comment ! haha
- viking EP 16:
- So Ragnar is really dead... good for him.
Floki was interesting, I was surprised he didn't murder all those Muslims praying. I was expecting him to kill everyone, due to his hate to other religion.
With the announcement of Ragnar's death thing are going to change, and we know that Lagertha is going to die but will she die fighting in England or assassinated by one of Ragnar's son ?

- viking EP 16:
- I am agree with you Gaelle. Floki was strange, he renounced to his "religion", to be a Viking... But Olga too. Something will happen in a couple of week with them.
To me, Lagertha will not die (not now, not in few seasons). I am sure she will see a new vision of Ragnar saying to her "Don't trust the augur, make your own choices and your own destiny... (Something like that )". Ivar is now obsessed about his father's death, more than his mother's death. Together (Lagertha, Ivar, Bjorn and other Ragnar's sons), they will revenge Ragnar and they will be more close to each other, than before.

- episode 16:
- This was a breather episode. I agree with Stapsman that Lagertha won't die for a while, she is too much of a great role model for women but it's possible she'll be killed by one of Ragnar's sons at some time in the future - maybe it will be a mercy killing. Loved the Muslim scenes - the clothes for both sides were so beautiful and I love Moor/Muslim art and architecture. Floki has been affected by Ragnar's return and he is lost and empty inside. Then he heard the Muslim call to prayer. It has the same affect on me. When in a muslim country I love the sound of the call to prayer - it has a power. I hope that Ivar does team up with Lagertha it'll be an army with incredible power. I liked the little smiles that Rollo had on his face as he got back to the Viking way of raiding, raping and pillaging.
Re: What did you think of the last episod of...
Is anyone here going to watch A Series of Unfortunate Events ?
I read the books when I was younger and I loved them.
I think it's a good idea that Netflix restarted it because the film wasn't enough.
I hope the spirit of the book will be unchanged !

I don't know it but if you recommend it I'll give it a try.
Mostly watching detective series at the moment. Sherlock, Endeavour, Unforgotten, midsomer murders (I know) Silent Witness all have new but short seasons going alongside Vikings, Grimm and Homeland. wondering if I'll have time for the new season of fortitude too.

It's Gale, get it right Law.
Yeah it's that guy from HIMYM. I don't really like him so the series would need to be good for me to watch. I guess we have different tastes in Men

- Oh yeah... Violent, trash and disgusting... On the one hand, Bjorn exactly seems like Ragnar: he keeps his feelings in him, stay quiet... He makes his plans but don't show it and he trusts in himself. I am sure, Bjorn is promised to a great destiny like his father. On the other hand, Ecbert is weak, maybe affected by the Ragnar's death. He can't lead an army anymore and it suppose he will desappear soon. I was sad when he didn't express his feelings to his son. This scene remind me the relation between César and Commode, in the movie Gladiator (2000).

- What an episode ! It felt really short because of all the action ! It was an amazing one. That first death shows that they should have never killed Ragnar.
I share your point about Bjorn Mister Staps
The only think I disliked during that episode is the violence of the sex scenes...
