House Of Cards

Hello everyone,


I finally decided to present the TV Show House Of Cards.
I love this serie because it helps you to understand the American political system.
Especially the white house communication system.
This permitted me to understand how unscrupulous politicians can be, and that the only thing they are interested in is power and how to get it, sometimes in opposition to the people.
My favorite character is Claire underwood (First lady), I think her role is more important than Franck's (the President)
Moreover, I was surprised by the scandal concerning Franck Underwood but I am satisfied that Claire will become a more important character in the serie.
So I highly recommend you to watch this TV show.

I watched House of Cards during two seasons, but I thought that the third one was a little bit long... I wanted to watch again but with the "Kevin Spacey problem" I do not really want to caution this type of behavior.

Yes, I'm totally agree with you about the inadmissible behavior of Kevin Spacey.

I 100% agree with Amarande. I tried to watch House Of Card but I felt asleep in front of the first episode of the first season. And same as Amarande I wanted to watch again but with the Kevin Spacey problem makes me feel uncomfortable and I don't want to watch him because of his behavior.

Moreover, the politic aspect of this series is not my favorite subject... maybe I will try to watch again in few years !

I have never seen "House of cards"... Is that a good serie ?
With all the serie that there are "on the market", on the "space public", I don't arrive to choose the good one !

I don't see House of cards, but there are differencies between the USA and the France's political communication : like shows, it is more theatral. During the show they seems to be game a role...

Hi Amarande, Marion and Joachim, I would like to watch the series House Of Cards for two main reasons: see what is the point of view of the producer and to compare with ''Designated Survivor". (which you can go take a look and comment on this forum . About on the
1rst reason: to know more about the american political system and how HOC shows it to the World.
2nd reason, to put in contrast with other political drama series (like DS).

About the Kevin Spacey problem, it sure creates debate on the ethic of the actors out of the series

To put an end to my post, i would like to say that we see how politican relations are theatralized in the White House. It serves the narration and aims to critic denonciate the political system of America in général because HOC was brodcasted a little before Obama's presidency till now...

What People like to watch are the backstages, moreover, they attach to one character.

If we decide not to watch TV actors for ethical reasons, there'd be very few series/films we actually watch.

I already heard about this series but I never watched it. I think it's too political for me, actually I prefer unreal subject :') But it seems very interesting for people who like this kind of subject !

Like Justine, I'm not into political things and all. I'm more interested by supernatural or fantasy genre. But I think it can be really instructive and maybe I will watch it (one day )

I read an article about the future of House of Cards and I saw that Netflix would maybe not have the right to transfer Kevin Spacey from the series House of Cards... I love House of Cards! All seasons are not "very good", but some are. All characters are deep, intrigues are fascinating, and I can watch one season in one or two days (I did it, btw).

I like more Francis than Claire, and I'm so sad Kevin Spacey has been catched before the end of the serie He was a so great actor, so good in this role :'(

I've watched only three seasons of House of Cards because, since the middle of season 2, I've started being bored by this series. It ran like an "old routine" and I could'nt find more suspense, stakes, or originality, between each episods.
However, I love Kevin Spacey (as an actor!), and He was the first reason I've decided to watch this series. I've discovered him in the movie called "The Usual Suspects", which I highly recommand !
Then, it seems like K.Spacey is an asshole in real life, as He actually is in House of Cards. Maybe that's why He was such a good actor in vicious roles !
Perhaps one day, I'll continue to watch the others seasons, but I hope there're not like season 1, which is like season 2, which is like season 3...?

Joachim, you choose present my favorite serie ! I love House of Cards because it give an impression of reality.
This is a quality story and i love to follow the adventur of Frank Underwood (the main character) who is for me the evil character i ever see in my life.

I was very sad to know that the serie will stop just because of Kevin Spacey's action but i wish to watch a serie of this quality an other day in my life

I know that political is not very fun, but this is not the only subject which is treat on house of cards.
It's very interesting if you want to learn things about communication and American culture.
Forget Kevin spacey, Robin Wright is fantastic on House of cards.

Hey ! House of cards is one of my favorite series ! I love the fact that the series show us how we are manipulated by corrupt politicians. I think it is a very current subject, very important to understand the nowadays politics ! However, I'm very sad about the polemic of kevin Spacey, I really love this actor in the series... but in an other way, I think the productor of the series react in a good way, throwing up Spacey.. I hope that Robin Wright will take the main role !
