Series : The Punisher

Hi everyone !

I'm going to talk about the new serie "The Punisher" created for Netflix by Steve Lightfoot. The serie is bases on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. For this serie, Jon Bertal is the Punisher.
The main character, Frank Castle, alias le punisher uses violent methods to fight crime, and especially to take revenge on those who killed his family.
The fist season has thirteen episodes. The serie was released on November 17, 2017 on Netflix.

Episode one :

Frank Castle traveled the United States and Mexico in search of his family's murderers. He wants to finish with the Punisher character. Six months later, he lives under the name of Pete Castiglione, spends his days alone working on construction sites.
Castle is considered dead, but Dinah Madani, a federal agent, is looking for him. She is convinced that one of her contacts was murdered in Kandahar by American soldiers, in the former commando of Castle.
On the construction site, Donny, another worker sympathizes with Frank. Donny hold up a circle of games, but on the spot, he is unmasked and becomes a target. His crime partners want to eliminate him. Castle saves him by eliminating his crime partners, and then goes to the play circle and massacres all the criminals present. It is the first return of the Punisher.

Episode 2 :

Castle realizes he's being followed by a man who calls himself "Micro" and who knows he's still alive.

Frank tracks it with the help of his journalist friend, and ex-avocate, Karen Page, and discovers his name and his story, David Leberman, a government computer analyst who knows about Kandahar. He's hiding after trying to diffuse informations about Kandahar. He is hiding after trying to spread information about Kandahar and is wanted by Carson Wolf, a corrupt special agent...

Frank confront and take Carson Wolf hostage at his home. Carson tells him that his family was killed because of a video (diffuse by Micro) showing one of his former military missions in Kandhar, before he died.

Frank finds the hiding place of Micro and makes him prisoner to question him.

Episode 3 :

In the previous episode, Frank found Micro in his lair and begins to question him. However, Micro lets Frank free from his movements to make him understand that they are on the same side, those of two men trapped by the government who wants to hide the truth.

We also have in the episode a long flshback of Frank when he was in the army in Iraq, under the orders of the CIA Agent, the " Orange Agent" to track, question, and kill terrorists. It was the "Cerberus operation".

Also, during the interrogation that was exposed by the video of Micro, it is revealed that the hostage recovered by the  Frank commando is not a terrorist, but a policeman aware of the traffic of Agent Orange. He was executed because he knew too much.

At the end of the episode, Micro explain also to Frank that no one from the government had given official agreement for his missions in Iraq ...

Episode 4 :

Castle is looking for weapons for future fights but can not find enough. Micro learns that Dinah Madani, the special agent investigating Kandahar, is trying to intercept a shipment of weapons.

At first, Castle steals a garage to recover fast cars.

Then, Micro scrambles the waves of the FBI, which allows Frank to steal the weapons.

Afterwards, there is a chase between Madani and Castle and Micro which causes an accident. Madani's car burns and she gets stuck. Frank saves her, revealing to Madani that he is still alive.

Episode 5 and 6:

Agent Madani now knows that Frank Castle is alive but she prefers to keep the information for her and flush it out by interviewing some suspects, including Karen Page, the journalist, and friend of Frank Castle.

Castle is also looking for survivors of his former commando, such as Gunner Henderson who seems to have disappeared from the traffic. However, when they arrived at gunner's house, they were attacked by the men of Agent Orange.
After a fight and a chase in the woods of the Gunner house, he ended up dying of his wounds but before he confided to Frank that it is him who gave the video to Micro because he witnessed the drug trafficking that existed in Kandahar. he also revealed the name of the crime partner of the agent orange : it's the Colonel Bennett.
Frankis also seriously injured and is saved by Micro. Curtis, a former Marine doctor and  friend of Frank who runs a retired military association, comes to heal his wounds.

Episode 7 :

Castle and Micro are developing their plan to find Agent Orange: install a tracker in Colonel Bennett's mobile phone, one of Agent Orange's crime partner.

The problem being that the colonel lives in a well-defended American military base and as he expects, Orange suspects his arrival and posted men to eliminate Frank.
Frank still manages to infiltrate the base, hack the smartphone and escape.

Agent Madani discovers a microphone in her office and realizes she is tapping. She suspects the people behind the operation in Kandahar to monitor her (it's the Agent Orange again).

Episode 8 :

At first, thanks to the hacked smartphone, Castle and Micro finally have a name for Agent Orange: Bill Rawlins, a important and untouchable member of the CIA ...

The madani agent makes a plan to find out who is watching her. She uses the microphone to give false information about an operation on the capture of Frank Castle.
She sets the trap in an abandoned building.

The problem is that his partner is killed in the fight between the FBI and the men of Agent Orange which is part of a former military friend of Frank also present during the operation "Cerberus", Billy Russo (it's him the murderer).

Episode 9:

A wave of attacks hits New York. It's lewis, a former soldier who made the war in Iraq, and who no longer manages to integrate who is the author. He is also a member of the Curtis Association.

Lewis approaches Karen, knowing that she has defended Castle,  a former veteran of the war, when he was juged for the Punisher crimes. He calls her during a radio debate with the Senator Ori, an activist for the regulation of arms. This one enervates Lewis saying that it is a monster, and Lewis threatens him and Karen.

Castle decides to intervene because he knowing Karen is in danger. Castle locates the house of Lewis. He finds Curtis attached to a bomb because he tried to reason Lewis and he knocked him. Frank manages to convince Lewis to help to defuse the bomb, but he's himself surrounded by police. He escapes easily but a camera takes a picture of him and his survival is revealed to all.

Meanwhile, Micro gives to Madani an appointment to make sure she's on the right side of the FBI. He alos begins to bring revelations about Kandahar and the traffic of the Agent Orange: Bill Rawlins.

Episode 10 :

Lewis Wilson tried to kill the Senator Ori, an activist for the regulation of arms, interviewed by Karen Page, the journalist, despite the security provided by Anvil, the company of Billy Russo.

Frank arrives on the scene to rescue Karen who is the hostage of lewis, and managed to save her.
Billy Russo takes the opportunity to eliminate Frank and the agent Madani see their fight because she had come to question Billy Russo.
Frank manages to escape once again alive !
